Such a charming city, amazing vibes! Especially Vieux Lyon
Such a charming city, amazing vibes! Especially Vieux Lyon The local eateries are the best, especially the desserts (pavlova, macaroons, fromageries) There are farmers market every morning, there are activities like boating on the river and the people are very friendly and warm. Great architecture and museums to visit, very enjoyable culture and if you're looking for a place to relax and also have fun cannot recommend it enough!!!Guest review byWasfaIreland - 10.0
In my top 5 destinations to visit.
In my top 5 destinations to visit. Annecy old town is full of history, incredible buildings and so many great restauarants and bars to visit and not too expensive. Amazing scenery around the lake and mountains. Great for those who like the outdoors, lots of cycling, walking and hiking. There is a dedicated cycle route around the the outside of the lake around 50km which is amazing and a must do and you don't have to be a 'cyclist' to do it.Guest review byAnonymousUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Very touristy, but for good reason.
Very touristy, but for good reason. A great destination for introducing the teenagers to outdoor / high mountain activities. The Monte Bianco skyway from the top of the Aiguille du Midi cable car was the highlight of the trip, especially that the cars were paused several times on the crossing so that we got time to take in the scenery. Booking of the Aiguille ascent is necessary in advance though, and buy the skyway tickets once you’re at the top. We made good use of the free train in the valley, which was ideal for getting around.Guest review byAnonymous - 4.0
To be honest, Valence is an ugly city.
To be honest, Valence is an ugly city. The Rhone flows through it but alas large motorways beside it. The centre is a bit run down. If you are on your way and are near it, you can visit the centre and have something to eat. There is a nice park near the river.Guest review bybNetherlands - 10.0

I came here to help my Daughter move home after a semester abroad. We stayed for a few days so she could show me some of her favorite spots, but we didn't get to everything. Could have easily spent more time exploring. The city transit system made it easy anywhere we wanted to go. The trip up the Bastille using cable cars was fun and offered amazing viewsGuest review byJodyUnited States - 8.0
Interesting town with cultural heritage.
Interesting town with cultural heritage. I was just passing through en route from Italy to London but it is a perfect stopover for one night. Unfortunately I was there on a Monday, when some attractions eg the castle are closed but I did visit the cathedral. There are many restaurants which sell local produce.Guest review byJohnUnited Kingdom - 8.0

The Lac is a big draw for us on holiday but the lovely park, busy town centre and friendly people make it a home away from home. It’s almost like a two centre holiday. Transport routes are great with regular local buses and a great number of trains to go further afield - Lyon, Grenoble, Annecy, Paris and even Geneva to name a few.Guest review byLeoUnited Kingdom - 2.0

The bed bugs. toilet paper . I made 3 separate booking .You have to buy your own Toilet paper .room cleaning is extra charge .If I booked 3 times in separate occasions they must be doing the bed and give the cleaned room to me no matter its same room . I paid full price .There was a bug at the window and Room220 is right at the road where Tram runs 24 hours almost .Christina is very rude so be firm with her .The rest of girls are really nice and speaks some English.Christina does not know English at all .She should not be working at a hotel where mostly Foreigners stays .Guest review byfouziaCanada - 6.0
Evian-les-Bains in June, during what should be peak tourist...
Evian-les-Bains in June, during what should be peak tourist season, felt unexpectedly lifeless. Many stores appeared permanently closed, and the town lacked any real atmosphere after early evening—by 10pm, only the casino restaurant was still serving food. This left few options for late dining or entertainment. Given these circumstances and the general sense of a closed-up town, I would not recommend visiting Evian-les-Bains, especially if you're expecting a lively lakeside resort experience. While some guides and official tourism pages highlight Evian's attractive lakefront, Belle Époque architecture, and potential activities along the lake and nearby outdoors, recent firsthand accounts confirm a lack of vibrancy and operational businesses, even in traditionally busy months. For travelers who prioritize a bustling atmosphere and broad dining options long into the evening, it may be better to look elsewhere.Guest review byRudyKUnited States - 10.0

Lyon is very scenic and captivating city, we loved strolling around the city center (Old Town, Fourvier). You should definitely take a guided tour around the center, we took a lot out of it which helped us to enjoy and apprehend Lyon to its fullest. If you want to have a bite on the local meals then head to many of local "bouchons", those are small family restaurants serving authentic lyonnaise cuisine. Metro is the most convenient way of getting around Lyon (especially when it's hot outside)Guest review byYanNetherlands
