Lovely place, beautiful views, great walking round the lake and doing a boat trip, all in a healthy environment. Good to visit in November as there are less tourists and we were lucky with the weather - Annecy was beautiful in the sun . I think often people are put off by the many tourists in the old town and restaurants. People were welcoming and friendly. We went up to the Chateau Menthon St Bernard by bus, and foot - was not very clear for finding the route up the hill to the castle on foot, but we did it and it was worth it as the guided tour of the chateau was very good. In general better to visit without the car as it seems parking could be difficult.

It's a very pretty town. The lake is very nice. I did a full tour of the lake on foot. I stayed for 4 days, which was a bit too long. I think 2 or 3 days are enough. If the weather would have been better (it rained quite a bit) I would have taken at list one day trip, so then 4 days would have made sense.LiviuCanada - Scored 1010
Annecy is a lovely town.
Annecy is a lovely town. We stayed there on route to somewhere else but certainly could have spent longer than the two nights we were there. If you are into walking or cycling it would be perfect. Also lots of nice places to eat and good shopping.

Annecy is Very touristy and there's only a few things to do in the city. It did seem quite safe where we were and the canals were beautiful with lots of flowers, the lake even if you don't get out on it is beautiful and a great place to walk after meals. There many shops nearby. Most restaurants are delicious with some Michelin mentions right there in the area. My recommendation that I wish I had known sooner was to research and go to all the things outside of Annecy and use it as a home base, there are so many castles nearby, the Fier river gorge, the glacier tunnel visit (with a cog train and gondola ride to get there) at Chamonix-Mont Blanc is not far, look around at all the things to do nearby!TeraUnited States of America

When we arrived the hotel staff were really happy and welcoming. Our room was perfect, clean, comfortable and we had plenty of space with an added kitchen etc. Its close to everything to need, 5 min walk to the old town and 7 min walk to the lake. The shopping in Annecy is amazing with all the brands and high street stores like Zara/HM just across the road in a shopping mall. There is a nice bar in the hotel across the street called the Craic.

The location of the hotel was perfect for us. We arrived at the train station and it was a short walk to the hotel. From there, we could very easily walk to the lake, the old town, and through the shopping streets. The room was small and basic (what we expect from a 2* hotel), but clean and comfortable.
