While on my motorcycle tour through Wales, I was looking for a last-minute place to stay near Cardiff as a starting point for exploring the Brecon Beacons National Park. Luckily, I came across Cresselly Inn. The room was newly renovated, bright, and modern – very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and offered everything I needed. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, creating a relaxed and homely atmosphere from the moment I arrived. A special highlight of my stay was the quiz night. I had just checked in and was already invited to join a quiz team. I ended up having a lovely evening with the locals – one of those travel moments you don’t forget. I rarely feel this welcomed as a solo traveler. I can highly recommend Cresselly Inn – whether you’re just passing through or planning a longer stay in the area. Authentic, friendly, and simply a great place to feel at home.

The room was tidy, very comfortable, and quiet. A cozy place to relax and rest. Although the reviews indicates that it was a great place to stay, it really exceeded my expectations. Additionally, the pub has great food. Well done to the owner!

The room was spacious and very comfortable. Bathroom was brilliant, great shower and plenty of room for a family of 4. The staff were very friendly and informative and there was a comprehensive choice for breakfast. Dinner in the restaurant was of a high quality and the staff were attentive. Llandeilo is quite central and accessible to many tourist sights. I would definitely recommend The Plough Inn.

I had a wonderful stay at this charming European-style hotel. The room was spotless, comfortably warm, and — best of all — perfectly quiet. The firm beds were a blessing for my back, and I truly appreciated the thoughtful touch of having an espresso machine in the room. The dining area had a cosy, welcoming ambience, and the staff were consistently friendly, warm, and polite. Breakfast was a highlight — the smashed avocado on sourdough I enjoyed on my first morning was simply delicious. I’m also grateful to the staff who kindly helped me with my luggage, as I have a back issue. I’d like to extend my compliments to Chloe, Sue, and Sneh for their wonderfully personal and warm service. Their constant smiles and genuine care made me feel truly welcomed. I also appreciated their thoughtful recommendations on places to visit around the town of Brecon — it added a special touch to my stay.

Drovers Rest is lovely! we stayed in The Cart House which was really spacious, well appointed and so warm! Unfortunately the weather meant we couldn't partake in a farm walk but the fact that it was even an option was wonderful! We had everything we needed, the beds were comfortable and the water was hot! We cooked for the two nights we were there and had everything we needed. There is WiFi, games, books and various streaming services on hand if needed. The blackout blinds are a great touch and it is honestly so quiet! Marta was in contact and gave us all the information we needed.

The setting was beautiful, very peaceful, the room was a lovely size, old fashioned but perfectly suited the ambience of the hotel. The staff were so helpful and friendly, the 2 waiting staff in the evening were amazing, so polite, friendly and attentive. The food was spot on, absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced, we'll definitely be coming back.

I live not too far away and visit Brecon often but not to stay. There's a lot of history to be found if someone is interested and the cathedral is a must. Abergavenny is only a short driving distance too and a visit to the Norman Castle of the da Braose family from the 1100s . The Tythe Barn and the tapestry made by the ladies of the town is also a sight to behold. The canal nearby in Brecon town is good for a walk and a park by the river. Morrison's is in the town so easy to get any shopping requirements. If someone has a car a visit can be made to the Penderyn whisky factory towards Merthyr and the reservoirs.

We loved this little town.

We loved this little town. Lots of places to visit, too many for our short stay. My grandparents lived here and I last visited as a young man, some 40 years ago! The town itself has a lovely atmosphere with restaurants and bars in the area. We found a lovely menswear shop, Revue on Castle street, and this had some lovely clothing. We plan on returning more often

The town is lovely and there is a strong sense of community. We loved the independent shops especially Book-ish, Panda’s Paper Boutique and Webbs. The local cafes are really good, we went to Book-ish and Halo, and there is a wonderful shop selling restored tools near Halo. We stayed at The Bear Hotel, which was lovely.

It was very hot when we visited so we didn't linger in town although will go back. Obviously a book lovers paradise and a very dog friendly place. We focused on the River walk which was shady with some gorgeous views and places to paddle. Several good places to stop for either coffee or lunch (we did both!).

Lovely, peaceful scenic village. Laid back pace. On next visit we will do our research for market days and shop opening days. Will return to lovely Llandovery. Kings head hotel- Great atmosphere in the bar, enjoyed 80,s music, then a male voice choir for a private party, a live band which were fab, lastly a DJ playing great music from house to Queen. Great place. Also Blue bell pub is the most beautiful pub we have been to. Will return

We didn’t spend too much time in Merthyr as we were sightseeing and visiting our daughters. We found there were lots of supermarkets and places to eat. Must recommend Koz Turkish Restaurant at the bottom of the road from the flat. We used quite a few taxis and found the drivers very friendly and chatty, really pleasant journeys.

The car park had ample parking and the staff was very helpful on arrival and the facilities in the room where as explained. We ate the first night at the Inn and the food was very nice. The atmosphere was very relaxed and we where made very welcome in the local quiz night and had a good evening. We slept really well and woke up and had an excellent breakfast. The travelling to the nearest towns wasn't too far and enjoyed the stroll through Hay and Brecon.

The weather was very hot in the 30’s so we could not go out during mid day as we had a pet. We had a few walks in Talgarth and surrounding areas in evenings when cooler and would thoroughly recommend. The walks, good food and drink rejuvenated the whole family. It is a pity it was a long drive from Norwich but would definately visit the area again.

A nice cottage in a good location but not suitable for anyone with mobility problems as the access is small with very steep stairs. Easy to get around the area with lovely walks in forest and the moorland although the entrance to the drive is very narrow with scratchy bushed either side. We didi not eat out at all preferring to prepare our own food. The WiFi was very poor and kept dropping out, as i was working this was a particular problem and with only 4g on my phone it did cause some frustration. Along with this there was only one small rickety table to work at. The decor is bit OTT although I can imaging it is to some of the visitors taste
