Our room, no.25 was in the attic with old beams and very spacious. Comfy beds and clean. The toilets in reception were spotless, the breakfast was spot on and our evening meal was delicious. Staff very friendly, efficient and helpful, recommending walks and ciders! Would definitely stay here again as the location was perfect and to top it all off the weather was glorious. Crickhowell is a very pretty town, lots of individual shops and great places to eat and drink. The Britannia and Black Bear were excellent Location is perfect for river and canal walks without needing to drive anywhere. Brecon Beacons are not far for longer walks. Abergavenny is just down the road.
The most picturesque place. You could spend days as there is so much on offer. Don't forget a visit to Abergavenny such a lovely place with an array on restaurants & pubs and the cinema so quaint.
Really lovely town surrounded by gorgeous scenery. Nice individual and independent shops to visit with helpful staff and proprietors. Visited the Hay Literature festival, about 30 minutes pleasant drive away.
A pleasant small town with a handful of shops and three or four pubs offering evening meals. Hourly bus service (or a fifteen-minute drive) to a larger town, Abergavenny, with more facilities, Crickhowell is a good walking centre, especially for more ambitious and challenging routes. I dined pleasantly at the Dragon. The Bear is the principal inn of the town. The most distinctive is/was the Bridge End but this is (temporarily?) closed. 0nly three miles away is Tretower, a ruined Normna castle and an ancient fortified house, which can be visited.
a lovely welsh village with an excellent bus service to Brecon and Abergavenny, some nice local family run shops with plenty of centrally located eateries. Lovely place to use as an base to explore the locality.
Clean and lovely small market town. The locals you pass in the street are friendly. The staff in all the pubs and restaurants we used were very friendly and welcoming.Great walks from town and nearby.Lovely independent shops.

We booked a room with mountain view and we got a lovely view from our window. The bed was very comfortable. The room was clean and well decorated. Our host was very welcoming. Our delicious breakfast was cooked to order. There was also fruit and cereal available. There was a private covid-safe lounge available where we also had breakfast and our evening meal. The hotel was near to Crickhowell, Brecon and Abergavenny which were good places to visit.
We stayed the weekend before Christmas & I can imagine this is when The Bear comes into it's own! Roaring log fire in the bar, magical Christmas decorations...absolutely wonderful 🎄🔥🍻🍾🥂 You can tell that no expense has been spared in the bedrooms...fantastic artwork on the wall (I presume by a local artist), the bed...the mattress...WOW! & the inclusive breakfast was superb 🍳☕ Thank you 🤗

Cozy building with a lovely cast iron fireplace, recently updated kitchen and bath and stylish design. Located very close to Crickhowell shops, pubs and eating places as well as some nice areas to hike and walk. We walked the canal, explored the old churches and graveyards, and strolled around town - good fun!
Lovely view from the front on the hotel and great setting. Very pleasant to sit abs have a drink in the sun when we arrived. Just a short walk to Crickhowell. Lovely to have a pool, sauna and steam room. Worth noting there is a £5 extra charge per person to use. Room was clean with good facilities.
