A fantastic experience. A typical English pub with family and friends gathering. Thankfully they had made a dinner reservation for us as the place was packed and I can see why. Although the restaurant was peaceful and relaxing. The decor in the restaurant, the food, the waitress serving were all fabulous, as was the full English breakfast included in our package. Accommodation was spacious, very clean, quiet and comfortable. Parking on site. Brilliant property. Heard other guests at breakfast say ‘This property is 5 star’. We have to agree with that. Well done!

We stayed for a night at the Coach and Horses for our anniversary and also had our meal at the restaurant. The hotel experience was amazing, the room was decorated amazingly as per request and our stay was very comfortable with the room being very clean and spacious. The meal and drinks we had were lovely. I would highly recommend staying here, the staff were very polite, professional and went above and beyond to make our time here as a couple feel very special.

FAQs about hotels in Norfolk

A Rural Retreat for Royalty

Sleepy and agricultural, Norfolk has peaceful villages and deserted beaches that provide a relaxing country escape. Its riverside county town Norwich has historic buildings and a popular market dominated by a cathedral. It also houses several luxury Norfolk hotels on Booking.com.

East are the Norfolk Broads, tranquil waterways that pass by small villages, windmills and verdant countryside. Further east Great Yarmouth, with its Pleasure Beach, is one of the most popular Norfolk seaside resorts. Other beaches are at Cromer, whose pier has a theatre at the end, and Hunstanton, home to a Sea Life centre and a range of North Norfolk hotels. Between them are Wells-Next-the-Sea where wetlands continue to Blakeney, popular for birdwatching.

Also on the coast is Sheringham from where a steam train runs to inland Holt. Swaffham to the south-west is a small market town and surrounding it are some of the Norfolk country houses offering accommodation. Thetford to the south has a riverside park and is by Thetford Forest, site of a Go Ape high ropes course. Snetterton Racetrack is midway between there and Attleborough.

A speedway track is located in historic King’s Lynn, another market town whose wide river means that it also acts as a port. To the north-west Dersingham neighbours Sandringham, whose country house is a private residence of the Queen.

One of the nicest hotels we've ever stayed in. We had a top floor room facing the beautiful green and heard the chimes of the church bells. The bed was so comfortable and there was a separate TV seating area next to the bathroom with tea/coffee/ biscuits/mini bar. Excellent choice of breakfast and we ate in the pub dining area in the evening. The hotel also has a residents lounge area, gym and a cinema offering complimentary popcorn .. which is great for kids. The staff were all very friendly and helpful including the man on reception who carried my luggage up to our room. We would definitely stay there again!

The cliff hotel is perfectly positioned for the beach and bus stop. The whole hotel is clean and cared for, the bed was exceptionally comfy, I'm only sorry that I forgot to have a look to check what make it was, for future reference. I paid a bargain price for my room in the middle of December. Growing up in Great Yarmouth in the seventies I never imagined that I would ever be a guest at the cliff hotel. I loved it and would definitely look to stay there again when I return to the area.

Norwich is a very interesting city with lots of history. The newly renovated castle is excellent and the cathedral is magnificent. It is worth doing the free tour at the cathedral. Their are some lovely quaint old streets to wander round. The Sainsbury Centre situated at the University is wonderful.

We've just spent the bank holiday weekend here and it was so much fun. There is always something to do for the whole family. Loads of arcades and some pretty good mainstream shops and the independent nicknack shops are fun to look round. Every person working that we spoke with was so friendly and welcoming. The food in some places is quite expensive but thats what you get for eating on the main roads. Loads to see and lots of walking! The whole area was clean, inviting and fun.

Cromer is a great place for a holiday; we have been going there at least once a year for many years, so much so that my children look upon it with great fondness. The centre is packed with cafes, restaurants, pubs and shops. It has a great butchers and fishmongers. We particularly love the Movieplex cinema which again is centrally located. The crazy golf and putting are enjoyed by all and we have spent many happy hours crabbing off the pier. The pier is also excellent for sitting with a nice drink and watching the world go by or a visit to the theatre. The beach is a mixture of sand and flintstones. It is great for rock pooling and making sandcastles, a nice walk or lazing in the sun when it shines. A family favourite we would recommend Cromer to everyone.

Very good shops. Promenade suitable for wheelchairs. Good bus service. The one and only gripe about Sheringham is they haven't put steps over the groins on the beach which means you can't walk along the beach, you can only access one part at a time until you walk beyond the lifeboat station. Overall Sheringham is perfect. Has good walks up Beeston bump and Skelding hill.

We have visited Wells many times but this was our first stay. Lots of places close by to visit, good coastal bus service, not too far from our accommodation, and free with a bus pass!! There is a lot of self catering & B&Bs, so if you want to eat out in the evening book ahead., or if self catering would suggest taking some easy to cook/reheat meals, and dine in!! Good Co-Op in the town. Beware parking at Holkham & Wells beach is expensive.

Thetford itself has little to offer and almost has no heart to the town. If you are a Dads Army fan then it would be more appealing. However, the surrouding area is quite nice and there are some lovely villages to visit and parks, woodlands to walk around.
