From here, you can use a bus to reach Kiato, Corinth and Athens very cheaply. It is a beautiful town with nice monuments and ancient traditions. Pleasant city, active nightlife, many shops and excellent cuisine. From the Gulf of Patra you enter the Peloponnese. It is the right place to start a trip to Greece if you arrive by ferry from Italy, either with your own vehicle or simply on foot.Guest review byGiovanni RemondiniItaly - 10.0

Olympia town is quite small but has some very nice tavernas, cafes and ice cream shops mostly under shady trees. The Main Street has a string of souvenir shops, some of which are quite stylish. We found a little museum dedicated to the inventions of Archimedes, a good spot for an hour or so.Guest review byMichaelAustralia - 10.0

It´s a beautiful city, at the Corintian Gulf. You are in the middle of the old town of Lepanto, with the wall all around and the castle at the top. Worth while a stop to visit and an excellent place to visit Ancient Delphi, just one hour and a half. Dont´s miss Galaxidi on the way, to enjoy the beach.Guest review byAdryCortesArgentina - 10.0

The town is a tourist base.
The town is a tourist base. Not particularly interesting or pleasant. We only went for the railway trip, but unfortunately it was cancelled on the two days we were there, due to falling rocks on the line. This doesn't happen very often apparently...we were just unlucky. There are cave lakes to visit but we didn't do that. The car journey to the town is wonderful both ways - from Dimitsana and Diakopto.Guest review byRosieUnited Kingdom - 10.0

We were on a "pilgrammage" of sorts intended to seek out our familial origins and were travelling by a rented vehicle from Eurocar which we picked up at the Athens Airport. This was a major winner for us! Take your GPS with you and enjoy the encredibly well organized motor ways that would best be described as excellent in every way. Kyllini was easy to find just off the West Coast and in good striking distance for other sites. It is a port city, really, with Ferry traffic to the Islands which could have made it noisy and unpleasant. However, such was not the case with super restaurant facilities and the Greek Pastries in the local shops were simply scrumptious. Have fun!Guest review byChristopherCanada - 8.0
The stafff were excellent. They couldn’t do enough for us.
The stafff were excellent. They couldn’t do enough for us. The hotel was effectively in winter shutdown, so was not operating as a ‘luxury resort’. The hotel was next to a busy main road, in the industrial outskirts Agrinio. That said, it was pleasant and surprisingly quiet. The breakfast was very good.Guest review byChrisLawrenceUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Zacharo is really, really Greek and there seemed to be absolutely nothing happening. I figure you have three alternatives to fill your time: swim or stare at the sea during the day, sit at a cafe and gossip at night, or get through War & Peace.Guest review byAlexanderP-BGreece - 10.0
We had the most wonderful stay in beautiful Paleros.
We had the most wonderful stay in beautiful Paleros. Although on the mainland it had a real small island charm to it. The people are so friendly and the pace of life is very relaxed. The food in the many restaurants was fantastic and very reasonably priced. We will definately be returning to this lovely place🙂Guest review bykevinUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Patra has some great archaeological sites & a castle but don't visit on a Tuesday as they are closed all day. It was easy to walk where I wanted to. There were lots of buses but I didn't have time to find out where you could travel to. So for those who don't want to walk I'm sure public transport could be an option. There were many bars & cafes. Interesting street & shops. You are close to the port if you wish to get a ferry to somewhere.Guest review byBrendaUnited Kingdom
