Excellent location with its own beach with natural shade and beautiful sea. Breakfast was served in a dinning room with balcony overlooking the garden, swimming pool and the beach. The room was well maintained with air conditioning that was operating perfectly and nice balcony with the sea view. It was really convenient and nice that they offered the beach towels to the guests.

Our stay was absolutely perfect! The location is superb, close to everything we wanted to see. The food was delicious, with plenty of variety and great quality. I liked the location of the accommodation in the town, from the terrace there was a beautiful view of the city and the port. The hotel staff is friendly. Breakfast was good. Although the hotel has its own private parking lot, there is a large public parking lot available in the port, i.e. near the hotel.

Kalogria apartments are in the most beautiful location next to a stunning natural beach and shallow water bay, perfect for all ages. The owner makes you very welcome and the restaurant, surrounded by floral borders, serves excellent food. Our room was very comfortable, clean and well equipped.

We were lucky and had an amazing room looking out over the sea, it made our holiday! This is a great little spot right by the sea! There are some great restaurants a stones throw away and the sunsets are amazing. This was the start of our Greek holiday and it started it off in style!

There was a good choice of breakfast foods but we would have liked some more fresh produce (fruits) to have been on offer. It was great having the bar by the pool but we found it a little hard to get the bar staff's attention, but when we did the service was good.

The beach, of course, and the fact that we were staying...

The beach, of course, and the fact that we were staying right across from the beach. But the bus service was excellent, getting us up into the old town and, when we left, back to the bus station. Kalamata seems large and sprawling but very much alive, with plenty to do and see. Much history. Of course, Kalamata is the starting station for so many special places along the coast in both directions.

Wonderful small town, no very touristy so you can have a taste of the usual everyday life here. Loved the Voidokilia beach nearby, great small boats for rent at marina to explore the bay. Also would recommend Polymelos waterfall nearby (30-40 min drive) with beautiful blue water

Stoupa is a pretty little bay, the beach is busy with sun beds. Everything you'd want from a tourist beachside - reasonable tavernas, shops, ice cream etc. Enigma was a great beach club with beds in a quieter location. Nearby Kalogria is a stunning beach! Lots of good food options, the sea is incredibly beautiful. You must hire a car. It is a great balance of authentic Greece without making you feel out of place. Perfect for families

We enjoyed Kardamyli thoroughly.

We enjoyed Kardamyli thoroughly. The town is quaint and lovely to stroll, grab a bite to eat and shop. The buildings are old & beautifully restored. Parking didn't seem to be an issue at all but walking is also quite easy, everything seems very close.

We were pleasantly surprised.

We were pleasantly surprised. We loved visiting the fortress and had some great dinners at a local restaurant (Kastro?). The countryside around Methoni is beautiful with olive groves and vineyards. And lots of nice beaches as well.

A delightful small seaside town.

A delightful small seaside town. Quiet at the beginning of the season, it was charming to stroll around, looking in the few artisan shops and enjoying meals in a couple of very good restaurants. The castle, convent and monastery at the top of the hill are well worth a visit - an unspoilt, free piece of medieval history complete with friendly nuns offering delicious home-made Greek delight.

A very pleasant location with plenty of lovely restaurants, bars and shops. We liked most restaurants and would visit the one at the top of the bay and Yialo Yialo again. We have stayed three times know but would definitely choose the Finikounta Hotel for our next visit.

All the villas give you the privacy of having your own...

All the villas give you the privacy of having your own relaxing space near a very popular beach. Each villa has a garage for your car which allows the car to be protected and kept cool during the day. The villas are kept clean and serviced daily. Above all you have Konstantina which is your host and she is always willing to assist you with anything which you may require. There are many restaurants within a 5 km radius of the property. You are close to one of Greece's most famous beaches Voidokoilia and also Gialova which has many restaurants and bars. In summary the property is highly recommended for someone who would like to visit Messinia one of Greece's most beautiful areas.

I was after a bit of down-time out after a long cycle with...

I was after a bit of down-time out after a long cycle with several friends, so the quiet little rural seaside town suited me. The harbour is being structurally rebuilt so I couldn't get a boat out to Proti island which was a disappointment. There are a few good beaches along the generally rugged coastline and some lovely restaurants in town. The agricultural nature of area means that it is not consistently pristine and there is a fair amount of farmers' litter evident. It would be ideal to have had a car for more exploring.

Gialova is a mid-class beach holiday area.

Gialova is a mid-class beach holiday area. Some nice restaurants. But a huge caravan camp and some rather ugly purpose-built guest houses on the beach. The crystal blue waters you see in photos did not materialise during our stay in May... a bit too cloudy I guess. And there was rather a lot of debris (seaweed, driftwood) washed up on the beach.
