It is ideal for long or short stays. We would also recommend you to try paragliding as it is a very exciting activity and a great way to enjoy the whole view of Kalamata. "Methoni is absolutely lovely and we really enjoyed it. The only thing I would say is that it is hard to get away to visit other places without a car. There are some buses, to Pylos, Finicounta and Kalamata, but it was impossible to get a timetable. We kind of got round it by getting a taxi to Pylos initially, and the nice man at the bus office wrote down the times of buses between Pylos and Methoni, but we didn't travel around as much as we might have because it was so hard to get the bus times. There are very good local taxi services, but they are a bit pricey to do more than a couple of excursions (for us anyway - no disrespect at all to local taxi driver who were wonderful when we used them). Other than this it is really beautiful and absolutely fantastic food. The beach is lovely and great for swimming and snorkelling. The castle is amazing. Getting a boat to nearby Sapientza is recommended too, as is an excursion to Ancient Messini. The museum at the castle in Pylos is great."

"Kyparissia has the New Town situated on the coastal Part and the Old Town on the hillside which is about 30 minutes comfortable walking up the hillside . The old village has a Castle which at the moment is closed due to technical words yes you read right im trying to figure that one out .. the Village has some lovely old building and accommodation with breathtaking views of the New Town and Seaside."

The location was the standout for me: peaceful, walkable, and faultless for anyone wanting a calm, scenic base with great access to the coast and nearby tavernas.The food was good, and as a vegetarian I felt well catered for. The staff were brilliant whenever I asked for adaptations, which made meals easy and enjoyable. The only thing that could have been better was having a little more variety in vegetarian options, but the team’s willingness to help more than made up for it. Overall, Gialova is a gorgeous, welcoming destination — perfect for travellers who appreciate a gentle pace, great hospitality, and stunning surroundings."

"I was after a bit of down-time out after a long cycle with several friends, so the quiet little rural seaside town suited me. The harbour is being structurally rebuilt so I couldn't get a boat out to Proti island which was a disappointment. There are a few good beaches along the generally rugged coastline and some lovely restaurants in town. The agricultural nature of area means that it is not consistently pristine and there is a fair amount of farmers' litter evident. It would be ideal to have had a car for more exploring."

"A lovely small town set round a curved seafront with stunning mountains rising up behind. Sandy beach, lovely warm water, safe swimming areas marked out and a lifeguard/first aid tower on beach. Lots of rows of sunbeds, but plenty of spaces at intervals for sitting on beach. Some tavernas offer reduced prices on sunbeds if drinks/food purchased; as of June 2024 saw prices such as 10€ rental. Even relatively early in the season the town was very full of visitors, mostly British. A great range of tavernas, bars and restaurants with food offerings to suit every budget. A lively feel to the place, lots of visitors return year after year and are known by particular restaurant owners - strongly recommend reserving a table if wanting the most popular eating places at a particular time. At the far end of the beach around the little harbour the atmosphere is very different - much quieter. Plenty to see and do around Stoupa too, and only 50 minutes drive from Kalamata airportm"

I liked the location of the accommodation in the town, from the terrace there was a beautiful view of the city and the port. The hotel staff is friendly. Breakfast was good. Although the hotel has its own private parking lot, there is a large public parking lot available in the port, i.e. near the hotel.

Good beaches.

Good beaches. Bars, restaurants, parking, showers, restrooms all available, and reasonably priced (or free). Athens is about 2,5-3 hours drive, Voidokilia is about 1,5 hours. The airport is small, but OK. Visit Kastraki restaurant if you can.

Wonderful small town, no very touristy so you can have a taste of the usual everyday life here. Loved the Voidokilia beach nearby, great small boats for rent at marina to explore the bay. Also would recommend Polymelos waterfall nearby (30-40 min drive) with beautiful blue water

Stoupa is a pretty little bay, the beach is busy with sun beds. Everything you'd want from a tourist beachside - reasonable tavernas, shops, ice cream etc. Enigma was a great beach club with beds in a quieter location. Nearby Kalogria is a stunning beach! Lots of good food options, the sea is incredibly beautiful. You must hire a car. It is a great balance of authentic Greece without making you feel out of place. Perfect for families

Kardamyli is a wonderful place!

Kardamyli is a wonderful place! Western Mani in general is so beautiful! I loved the beaches ( Delfinia, Foneas ), enjoyed authentic Greek gastronomy and loved the people. Snorkeling, boat trips, trekking are some of the activities that the visitor can enjoy!

We have now visited Koroni 4 times; it’s a perfect mix for us of historic town, lively resort (but not too lively), and beach holiday. There are plenty of different places to eat, all tastes and budgets are catered for, and it’s not necessary to use a car very much at all - I would recommend walking everywhere anyway, the streets are narrow for driving. We usually stay on the quiet Zagka Beach side and walk over the hill into the harbour side for eating out, shopping, or going to a bar. It’s a wonderful place to walk around in the evening, a stroll along to the Eleftheriou monastery at sunset is easy and delightful. We’ve always found everyone very friendly and accommodating, whilst retaining the character of a “real” town - giving the impression not everyone is involved in the tourist industry.

All the villas give you the privacy of having your own...

All the villas give you the privacy of having your own relaxing space near a very popular beach. Each villa has a garage for your car which allows the car to be protected and kept cool during the day. The villas are kept clean and serviced daily. Above all you have Konstantina which is your host and she is always willing to assist you with anything which you may require. There are many restaurants within a 5 km radius of the property. You are close to one of Greece's most famous beaches Voidokoilia and also Gialova which has many restaurants and bars. In summary the property is highly recommended for someone who would like to visit Messinia one of Greece's most beautiful areas.

We loved the square, lots of choice of tavernas.

We loved the square, lots of choice of tavernas. Not many bars. All quiet spread out. Some properties will be on busy road. Looked like there were boat trips available from the jetty and some water sports. We loved the sea breeze cocktail bar.

A very pleasant location with plenty of lovely restaurants, bars and shops. We liked most restaurants and would visit the one at the top of the bay and Yialo Yialo again. We have stayed three times know but would definitely choose the Finikounta Hotel for our next visit.

Nice town, beaches in close proximity, old Town 5' from the...

Nice town, beaches in close proximity, old Town 5' from the center with amazing view, ancient places around. Also, famous places in less than an hour drive (Voidokoilia Beach, Costa Navarino hotels, Foinikounta, Pylos, etc.). Farming products (one of the world's best olive oil), nice food and relaxing holidays.

I was after a bit of down-time out after a long cycle with...

I was after a bit of down-time out after a long cycle with several friends, so the quiet little rural seaside town suited me. The harbour is being structurally rebuilt so I couldn't get a boat out to Proti island which was a disappointment. There are a few good beaches along the generally rugged coastline and some lovely restaurants in town. The agricultural nature of area means that it is not consistently pristine and there is a fair amount of farmers' litter evident. It would be ideal to have had a car for more exploring.
