During our stay at this hotel, we were consistently impressed with the level of service and professionalism displayed by the entire staff. From the management team to the dedicated cleaning personnel, each member contributed to an atmosphere of excellence and hospitality. The facilities stood out as top-tier, and while the immediate coastal area might not have presented the expected white rocks and sandy vistas, the hotel's pool facilities compensated impressively. The emphasis on cleanliness was evident throughout, ensuring our stay was both comfortable and refreshing. We highly recommend this establishment to discerning travelers.

Super friendly and helpful staff! We were delighted with the way they took care of us in every detail. They were super available and always cheerful to answer our questions and help with any inquiry. The food was great and very diverse. Our room was pretty new and well equipped. There was a parking lot for us to park our rental car. The pool area isn't very big but it's very nice.

Exciting Holidays for Everyone

Surrounded by clear blue waters, Zakynthos (or Zante) is the 3rd largest island in the Ionian Sea, named after the son of Dardanus. This green island features mountain villages, fertile plains and gorgeous beaches.

Zakynthos was destroyed after the Great Earthquake of 1953 and rebuilt according to an anti-seismic code. Some of the buildings which were not damaged are St. Dionysios Cathedral, the National Bank and the church of St. Nicholas.

The island has one of the most famous Greek attractions - the spectacular Navagio Beach. Accessible only by boat, the 'Shipwreck' is an isolated beach with white pebbles and turquoise waters.

Set amongst olive groves and vineyards, the tourist resort of Tsilivi is full of traditional taverns and bars. The beach village of Laganas is a real gem for young people that love clubbing and are looking for a hotel on the Strip, but also for families seeking a shallow beach and warm waters. The Caretta turtle visits Laganas beach during its reproductive period and lays its eggs on the soft, golden sand.

Our main goal was to find a great hotel for us and our 2-year-old, with good food and comfortable conditions for the whole stay. Hotel Marelen turned out to be exactly that kind of place. The crowd here consists mainly of families and older guests, which sets a very pleasant, calm atmosphere from the moment you arrive. This is genuinely the right place if you're after a quiet, relaxing holiday rather than a lively party scene — don't expect the latter here, and honestly that's a good thing. The food was truly delicious and varied. Due to a booking mix-up we ended up with two separate rooms, but the staff merged them into one without any fuss, saving us the hassle of moving luggage around — that kind of flexibility really stood out. Rooms were clean and tidy throughout. There's a sandy beach with sun loungers just nearby, plus plenty of restaurants and bars to suit any taste. The hotel has its own parking, and we'd recommend renting a car to explore the island — Navagio Beach and the Blue Caves are well worth it. A special mention goes to receptionist Maria, who was always ready to help with whatever we needed. Worth noting separately: the hotel sits about 5 minutes from the airport, which is handy, but you will hear planes throughout the day until around 11 PM. It didn't really bother us, but it's something to keep in mind.

The hotel is very clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. Our room was spotless, and the bed linen was changed daily, which we really appreciated. The reception staff were always friendly, welcoming, and helpful, making us feel at home throughout our stay. The bartenders were also extremely kind, polite, and professional. The location is absolutely fantastic – right on the beach! We loved being able to enjoy both the swimming pool and the beautiful sandy beach just steps away from the hotel. The food was good, with plenty of choices, and there was always something tasty to enjoy. What made our stay even more special was the warm and friendly atmosphere created by the staff and local people. Everyone was so welcoming and pleasant. First of all I want to thank all the people of the hotel! I have never experienced such kindness and warm welcome in the places I have travelled before. We arrived quite early from check in time and waited for the room to be settled. After we ate our lunch, we were informed by the front desk that they upgraded our room for free!!! They moved us to the new building, to a room with direct access to the pool! On the first day we were greeted with another pleasant surprise of champagne and fruit! Everything was spotless, they cleaned the room daily and changed towels. The food was delicious and the cocktails were very refreshing. For the staff I have to say a big thumbs up, they made us feel at home from the first minute to the last!!! I would go back and highly recommend it!

It was close to the airport and easy to reach. It has its own beach area and a swimming pool. The staff were very kind, and the rooms were beautifully cleaned every day. Room 208 had a sea view – I can highly recommend it to everyone! The Gusto restaurant is just 10 steps away from the hotel. There’s a fantastic team working there. We ate there every day! You should definitely try it!

Laganas beach is absolutely disgusting, so filthy and dirty, don't ever want to go there and definitely won't recommend it. The laganas strip, restaurants, bars, shops etc is completely closed during April.

Tsilivi has all the amenities: bars, restaurants of all...

Tsilivi has all the amenities: bars, restaurants of all sorts (traditional tavernas, more upscale restaurants like Botanic Garden and Meeting, fast food places etc), souvenir shops, supermarkets, travel companies to book boat trips or rent a car...The beach is near the main strip of restaurants and it has a few bars/restaurants hiring out sunloungers. Tsilivi is only 20 minutes away from the airport and 15 from Zakynthos town. It is not a rowdy place where you can still enjoy some drinks and a good meal. It is also easy to reach some of the lovely view points around the coast from here.

The beaches are incredible. Pretty green for a Greek Island. People are really nice as in anywhere in Greece. Food is delicious. Must do boat trips on both south and north shores. Definitely need a rental car.

Argasi is a small town with lots to offer.

Argasi is a small town with lots to offer. There is a good mix of bars & nightclubs, but not too lively. Great restaurants the length of the town & all within walking distance, except the one on the hill, but they will collect & return you from your hotel for free. Great beach bars just off the main road, so look out for signs to Remezzo (our favourite) etc on the waterfront. Plenty of places to shop around for car/quad hire & trips around the island, on land & sea. A fun train runs into Zante town every day from opposite Legends bar (€8 return) Just the most wonderful people & easy for us to return yearly.

An abundance of Restaurants of many denominations, plus...

An abundance of Restaurants of many denominations, plus plenty of themed bars for drinks, all within walking distance, just perfect!!! The whole place is relaxed, happy, and just such a good place to be, a perfect location to unwind and enjoy after a few months hard slog at home. Or, a great location to hit the bars and live the high life, your choice, a fantastic location for singles, couples, groups and families alike, Kalamaki has just about everything, for everyone, and everyone is just so friendly; what a place to live, never mind just holiday!!!

excellent beaches within the area to spot turtles and snorkel. There are some lovely tavernas to experience Greek food and hospitality. An abundance of coffee shops aswell. Places - Dafni Beach, Gerakas, St Nikolas Beach Places to eat - Perfetto Snack Bar, Mpampis, Lithies Taverna, Kostas Brothers, Gyro House, The Blue Yard and Taverna Familia. Easy to get around Vasilikos. You do need a car.

The restaurants and bars are very good.

The restaurants and bars are very good. The pubs would be even better if they sold pub grub,although that might effect the restaurant trade. The beach is beautiful unlike some places I've been. You can also spend time at the pool if you don't like the beach. It's also quite small and easy to get around.

Just the right amount of busy for us as a couple and great...

Just the right amount of busy for us as a couple and great for families with young children. The beach is lovely and there are plenty of restaurants to go. Supermarket there stocks everything you need.

It's a small village with just a few restaurants and 2 mini...

It's a small village with just a few restaurants and 2 mini markets, is a quiet and peaceful place, suitable for people who look relaxation and/or families with small children (there is shallow water for some 30 m from the shore). Renting a car is a good idea because, in the village, the bus comes only 3 times a day. The streets are very very very narrow, so be aware and drive slowly :) Enjoy your staying!

The location was beautiful, so green with stunning mountains...

The location was beautiful, so green with stunning mountains leading down to the beach with views of turtle island. Nice selection of restaurants and grocery stores. Lots of boat rental companies. We liked Tzanetos restaurant most, sit upstairs with lovely views. We hired a boat from Sirocco, right on the sea front, they were not pushy and were very professional.
