Split is a great destination for the tourist looking for that special experience and access to ferries to get you out to the wonderful islands. Unfortunately, Croatia is no longer a secret with the place crowded with tourists, which was its only negative. great local food, can be a bit expensive which is normal for Europe these days .Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0
A small but very beautiful town!
A small but very beautiful town! Everything you need was close by, shops, restaurants, bars, the sea, the amazing market, we liked the town, it looked like a little Venice, although the restaurants were a bit more expensive but the food was excellent. The most popular restaurant that I will definitely visit is called Royal Restaurant, and I was expecting a slightly nicer beach, there was an awful lot of algae there but we went to PANTANA beach From Trogir it is very easy to get to Split, Medena or Ciovo, either by boat or bus, Split is an hour away, otherwise it takes about 30 minutes. If anyone wants to go by boat, I definitely recommend being there at least 40 minutes early at the ferry stop, let's call it that, otherwise it may happen that you won't even get on the boat and you will have to wait another 2 hours. We arrived 30 minutes early and fuuuuu the crowd behind us and in front of us is brutal, back the same. And as for families with children, definitely a boat trip or a visit to the castle, there are trampolines near the castle that they will definitely enjoy, I also went to the beaches to look for shells with my little one, there are lots of playgrounds and a beautiful promenade with boats where there are activities every evening. We managed to get a picture taken with a parrot on your arm for 5€, with its head everywhere... and you will also like the markets, there are lots of toys. The little one liked the Pantana beach because there were huge inflatables on the water, but they charged 7€ per person per hour which I thought was stupid but it doesn't matterGuest review byAnonymous - 6.0
Makarska is nice place to visit in June and September.
Makarska is nice place to visit in June and September. July and August is very hot and a lot off tourists on the beach, and on the streets. A lot of traffic, problem to find parking place. We only walk and stay overnight in Makarska center. Biokovo skywalk is fantasticGuest review bySlobodankaNorway - 6.0
Hvar is a frequent island in Croata.
Hvar is a frequent island in Croata. This is what makes it overrated. First of all, the prices are so high and the value I got for it was way low. However the coast and the sight is amazing, the whole vibe is so boring. There are people with smartphones making insta photos but not smiling. They are spending money in an overrated and overpriced beach bar and getting drunk and that's all. At the most of the restaurants and bars there is not even music, no dance and no sing at all. The foods are below average, but the price labels are higher than any italian restaurant in Italy. And also Croatian authorities give fine unfairly. I was going because I was there long time ago and I remembered it is a good place, but comparing to South America, or any other Mediterranean country, it is just not worth the money.Guest review byGáborHungary - 10.0

For me, this is simply the best place in Croatia.
For me, this is simply the best place in Croatia. It's smaller than, for example, Makarska, and lacks noisy clubs and loud nightlife, which I consider strong advantages. You can find everything you need: beautiful beaches, bars, snack stands, and upscale restaurants. Renting a sunbed or umbrella is easy, and exciting water sports equipment, such as water jets, is also available. Highly recommended.Guest review byKrzysztofPoland - 10.0

Initially we thought it was a bit far from Split, but then realised it has a lot to offer (good beaches, restaurants, cafes) and transport into Split is one bus ride. For us it was all we needed - swimming every day in sea and hotel pool, good lunches and dinners in local restaurants, a trip to Split and a trip to the island of Brac for variety. Omis nearby is interesting too.Guest review byWebsterUnited Kingdom - 8.0

The beaches are all perfect for swimming and relaxing and watersports. The promenade is wonderful and nice and cool after the beach. The restaurants are all fantastic, pricey now but I was expecting that.Guest review byJennyUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Crystal clear water and you can see straight to the bottom...
Crystal clear water and you can see straight to the bottom even when it’s deep. The water is so clean it’s almost unreal, like swimming in a giant natural pool. If you love pristine beaches and amazing water quality, this place is absolutely worth it. The only downsides are that getting into the water can be a bit tricky since it’s rocky rather than sandy beaches. Also, the supermarkets have very limited options - even the biggest one doesn’t have much variety if you’re planning to cook during your stay.Guest review byЕвгений ПрусовGermany
