Set right on the Riva Promenade, this former noble palace is located in the centre of Makarska, just a 5-minute walk away from the beach. I love every minute spending in this hotel. Great location and easy to park in front of the hotel. The room is not very big but modern, cozy and functional enough. The ladies at reception were very friendly, helpful and always wore a big smile on the face. I was interested in a Croatian traditional cake and next thing I know was that the lady at reception called directly a bakery and asked about the cake and its price. We got an upgrade as well - it was lovely to see the sunset view from our room.

Close to the centre of Makarska and located at a pebbly beach, the charming family-run Hotel Maritimo is close to a sports marina, boasting magnificent views of the Brač and Hvar Islands. I stayed at the Maritimo for 2 nights. The breakfast was fantastic! The staff at reception, breakfast and bar were terrific , gurls at reception very helpful in finding out information about a bus to Ploce instead of riding my bike in extreme high winds. Really enjoyed my stay at the hotel..even the earthquake!

Boasting a fantastic sea view, the brand-new Hotel Osejava is situated in the centre of Makarska on the promenade, surrounded by 3 magnificent beaches. One of the most magical locations I have ever encountered. A stunning bay on the Adriatic at the foot of Biokova mountain. The mountain is as beautiful as Yosemite. Hotel Osejava is at the peaceful end of the bay with a beach a few steps from the lobby. The views of the Adriatic, the town of Makarska, the marina and of course Biokova mountain are incredible. The sunsets are awesome. The hotel is beautifully renovated, spotlessly clean and comfortable. The staff is delightful, knowledgeable and helpful. I have stayed twice and recommend it highly.

Makarska is a beautiful part of Croatia. There is a main promenade with a small pebble beach, lots of hotels, restaurants and children's facilities which is very commercialised. There is also a old beautiful harbour area with bars and lovely restaurants. You can hire boats or take a boat trip to the other islands from here. We loved the old harbour area, stunning.

Makarska changed significantly since my last visit. It becomes a loud, crowded, and expensive place. It still has its own atmosphere and beautiful location, but unfortunately, it has become a victim of its own success. The issue of prices disappointed me the most because unfortunately, the quality did not increase with their increase. I still like this place but I don't think I will come back soon.

We usually go to city beach, near caffe Makarana, Beach is wide enough that you could place towell and not disturb other people. Bounty has a great ice cream, specially premium flavors. There is local caffe Kostela, which is on promenade and very nice.

Makarska is a very nice town, there are more and less pretty parts. In general the beaches are nice and clean. The main beach of Makarska was totally full, and some people just doesnt know what personal space means...do anything for a small shadow... There are less popular or famous and not very centered beaches which are less full, such as Buba beach, Cubano beach or Plaza Cvitacka.

Generally Makarska is a nice place for a seaside vacation. But you should know that the town is on a steep hillside, so for most of the apartments there is a tiring walkway up from the beach. No entrance ticket for the beach. Many restaurants. Beach activities available for kids and for adults too. Parking possibilities are awful: there are parkplaces but always full. If you still find a parking slot, the BMove app is useful. Big shops: Kaufland, Plodine, Konzum. Petrol stations at many places. Makarska is easy to reach from A1 highway, ca. 15 mins from exit Zagvozd - through a long tunnel under the Biokovo mountain.

Having a shower in the bathroom is a pleasure after the hot day in Makarska ! But the real special point about this hotel is that a family owns it : Marica and Ela were very welcoming, they gave us advice about what to visit, they received us at their restaurant (a must do, food is excellent !). To summarize, if you have to stay in Croatia, you should definitely book a room here !

The best thing about this hotel is the location: you can easily access the beach from the pool area and enjoy the day on the comfortable beach beds. The rooms are spacious and cleam. Bathrooms could be updated, but are ok. The parking is next to the hotel and at an acceptable price (5 euro/ day). Breakfast area has lots of places and breakfast food is also good and varied.

Though the hotel does not have its own garage we always found a parking spot within 1-2 minutes' walking distance and the city parking card they gave was valid everywhere in Makarska. I would happly come back anytime.
