Just got back from a birthday getaway for my wife. First off, the free chauffeur service was a lifesaver. Made getting around Uluwatu super easy without having to deal with renting scooters or taxis. The food? Absolutely delicious. Whether we ordered to our room or by the pool, everything was spot on. What really made our stay stress-free was how the hotel staff handled everything. They booked us a dinner at a fantastic restaurant and the spa without us having to worry about a thing. And I've got to give it up for the staff—truly amazing. Friendly, helpful, and always going the extra mile to make sure my wife’s birthday was special. Big thanks to them for making our stay memorable!

An Island Dream

The resort is exceptional. Be prepared for a fair drive from the airport....but it's absolutely worth every second. The rooms are incredible, the views are to die for, and the service that all the staff provide really makes this a fantastic place to stay for a few days...we were there for 6 nights in total and we wished we were staying for longer. The photos of the hotel make it look incredible, but it's even better when you actually experience it.

You have a warm welcome from the entrance, during checkin you have a drink, everything is explained to you in details about the resort, and later about your room and the services. If you plan to be outside, not recommended to visit during the month of November-January. Its the raining season there. Will be great if you can ride a bike to visit other places outside ubud. Otherwise, its all walking distance if you stay in the centre of ubud.

We use Kuta as the last stop when we're leaving Bali.

We use Kuta as the last stop when we're leaving Bali. It has a heap of shops to visit prior to flying home and is located pretty close to the airport for our very early flight out. We also like the variety of restaurants. Although we normally eat local foods when travelling, we dined with friends at great Greek (Santorini) and German (Mama's) restaurants in Kuta.

Canggu is for you if you like "western restaurants" and more of an influencer vibe. It is definitely not representative of real Bali. It is not close to many traditional sites so it's a miss if you value the cultural aspects of Bali. Beach has litter.

The beach was so polluted. We could not swim in it and we were not interested in walking on it due to what was on the sand. The clubs were lovely and some did try and clean their area but the waves brought in more.

Uluwatu is beautiful, all the beaches and modern restaurants...

Uluwatu is beautiful, all the beaches and modern restaurants, bars and cafe's lean more towards the coastal side, it's very easy to get around here with lots of Grab/GoJek bikes and cars driving around often, never waited more than 4 minutes for a ride. Walking around would be easy too, the sidewalks aren't too difficult however the humps and hills of the roads are definitely a workout in the hot sun. Lots of construction in Uluwatu, the streets are noisy, lots of trucks and drilling everywhere.

We like Sanur.

We like Sanur. In past years we have stayed in other places in Bali but once we tried Sanur we always come back! Beach, shops, restaurants are in walking distance. Our favourite places to eat were in the warungs where most had live music.

Legian never disappoints us, people are very friendly and...

Legian never disappoints us, people are very friendly and happy. Lots of bargains and shopping. The Lokal in garlic Lane would be our favorite place to eat. Jonny's bar top end of Garlic Lane was a great place to cool down. Since our Villa pool was green we ended up here most afternoons to swim and cool down. As a treat we booked into Maria River safari near Ubud for a night. it was amazing, kids rode an elephant to breakfast, fed the animals and went on a night safari were lions climbed on the top of the truck cage we were travelling in. Highly recommend.

Outside of resort used private driver.

Outside of resort used private driver. Very frantic and busy roads. Unless proficient on a scooter I suggest hiring a driver for your safety and peace of mind. Plus local knowledge priceless. We met our driver on pre booked airport transfer and used him for our five day stay

Travel to different vista points can get tedious because of...

Travel to different vista points can get tedious because of poorly maintained roads as compared to Bali. However, most vista points were beautiful. We did not engage in water sports so cannot comment on that. You need to find a good taxi driver to get around (or a two-wheeler if going solo or as a couple). Broken beach is enchanting, as also Angel beach. Need 3-4 days to do justice to the island.

but The Beach is disaster!!! Full of trush. All I want to see is ocean and attractive beach but there was nothing. Jimbaran Beach was full of trush I was in shock. Trash was waving and nobody clean the beach which is very sad.
