Staff here is absolutely wonderful. They communicate with you via WhatsApp starting the day before arrival to make sure you have all the information you need, including an exhaustive list of local recommendations for restaurants, spas, beach clubs. If I had a question about absolutely anything I simply texted them and they responded immediately, and one evening when I had to order food delivery because of a work meeting I had to join late, the front desk helped give directions to the driver when he got confused and went to the wrong place. Beyond the staff, everything was clean and quiet. There’s a bit of construction happening on the outdoor shower and bathrooms by the pool but staff would reach out to tell us when it would be noisy. The beach is right next to the hotel, albeit down many steep and uneven steps (coming back up in sandy flip flops was a little scary) but worth noting that most of the morning is still high tide, we went down early after breakfast and realized right away that it was better to sit at one of the restaurants and have some cocktails until it went down, but it was fun to watch all of the surfers! Lastly, very easy to order a car/bike to get anywhere if you’re not comfortable renting one of the bikes to drive yourself, a bike is heavily preferred to skip around traffic and get places quickly because the streets get congested in the part of town where a lot of the shops and restaurants are. If you do choose to use the bikes, make sure everyone in your party has the app to order their own as it is not allowed to have more than 1 passenger.

Our stay at this hotel was absolutely wonderful. The facilities, such as the beautiful room, the stunning pool and all the common areas, are exactly as shown in the photos: modern, comfortable and very well maintained. We already expected them to be great, so that wasn’t a surprise. But what no photo can show, and what truly made our stay exceptional, was the staff. They are extraordinary. Their kindness, attentiveness and warmth are something rare to find. They are always willing to help in a genuine and natural way, never forced. Every small detail of their service was fantastic and made our experience even more special. Without a doubt, the people who work here are the reason we will return. The human touch in this hotel goes far beyond its beautiful facilities and that says a lot. We highly recommend this place. No one will regret staying here. Denner & Daniela

Beautiful Resort im the rice field. When we walked from the Reception to the villa we passed tiny rice fields inside the resort - that was so awesome to walk bye. Even though we had issues with the water pressure jn the first villa, we could move to another villa - which we loved from the first second. The two bedroom villa was very beautiful, cozy & had enough space for 4 people to hang out in the outside area. Thank you to Bandi, the shift manager who solved the issue quickly & made our stay so relaxing. Also the whole staff was so friendly & kind. Would definetly come back. Thank you for having us.

FAQs about hotels in Bali

An Island Dream

The dream destination of Bali is where volcanic landscape meets lush rice terraces and pristine beaches. Not to mention the fantastic surfing, cheap shopping and pervading spirituality that have made this Indonesian island a long-time favourite for backpackers.

The island’s capital is Denpasar in the south, but its surf and party capital is nearby Kuta. Swaying palm trees line the beach here and many more cover the grounds of the Bali hotels on the beach in more exclusive Seminyak to the north.

On the island’s north coast, Pemuteran beach offers lovely views of the sloping mountains heading towards the Bali Sea. Many beaches on this coast are black sand, including sweeping Lovina beach from where dolphins can often be seen. Tulamben in the east is one of the better diving resorts in Bali, while Sanur is a popular option for families.

Ubud is the island’s cultural capital and houses a monkey sanctuary in its jungle-like landscape. An ancient Hindu temple is found here, but the best-known temple is Tanah Lot, surrounded by water. There are also hundreds of fantastic spas in Bali, as well as meditation and yoga classes that you can join.

Whether you choose to stay inland or by the beautiful coastline, Booking.com has a great range of villas, guest houses and hotels in Bali.

I have travelled through the whole of Indonesia, and this is literally the best place you will get (for such a low price)! Super clean (no sewage smell as literally everywhere else), feeling 100% safe all the time, cool architecture and design (luxuriously youthful, with the pool, common areas - everything well maintained). Location is incredible - Kuta can be noisy and chaotic, but this one is on a quiet little street (but only 20 meters from the main street), and the beach is just a short walk from the inn (I went surfing twice a day (3min walk), everything else is less than a minute walk from the inn - shops, restaurants...). The staff is 1st class - SUPER kind, they are always helpful, making sure the facilities are spotless throughout the whole day and making sure the guests are feeling well. Special mention to the amazing Miss Lefiana, the hotel manager who made sure I felt at home, being extremely professional yet kind. Wherever I went for several days throughout my travel on Bali (Ubud, Canggu, Lombok ...) I kept coming back to Cara Cara ❤️

Padma Resort Ubud is a real pearl surrounded by the lush jungles of Ubud. A wonderful place, especially for a family vacation. The atmosphere is incredibly peaceful — the only sounds around are those of the jungle itself, which are soothing and deeply relaxing. The infinity pool is absolutely stunning, a place where time simply disappears. Breakfast was very good, and overall the culinary offerings are of a solid, high-quality standard. Service was excellent throughout our stay. The rooms are clean, spacious, and very comfortable, making it easy to fully relax. There are also plenty of activities for children, which makes this resort a great choice for families. There were minor downsides, but they were quickly forgotten and did not affect the overall impression. This is definitely a place we would love to return to.

The view is so beautiful. It was the huge motivation to stay here. They also offer many wonderful activities such as surf lessons and yoga which we chose to partake in and they were such fun. The food is decent. The rooms vary but are very comfortable. If you don’t like to climb stairs. Don’t stay. They are very clear and explicit about this but some people still complain which I think is ridiculous. It truly is built into and on the side of the mountain which means lots of walking up and down stairs. It’s part of the charm and the beauty. They have wonderful porters to help with bags, but don’t stay there if you don’t like to walk up and down stairs.

Ubud as a region is stunning.

Ubud as a region is stunning. I wish I had more time to undertake more day trips and activities. Ubud Centre is not the place for me. I forgot how much I dislike busy crowded places. I found it to be a typical centre. I also don’t enjoy shopping so probably wasn’t a good choice for me. Too much traffic and sooooo many bikes. It kind of added to the atmosphere but in the end, it was really annoying As a solo traveller who had never been to Ubud Centre before I think I would have had a better experience going there with someone who knew the best bits, what to do and where to go. I kind of wandered around aimlessly mindful of not getting lost or not finding the hotel pick up point! I did have a really nice chicken pesto ciabatta sandwich and fresh juice in a cafe called (I think) Nero, which also had a DJ.

Canggu is a vibrant and charming place with an incredible variety of coffee spots — from stylish cafés to magical hidden gems surrounded by beautiful gardens. Many of them offer amazing food and a relaxed atmosphere, making every visit a small discovery. The area is also lively with plenty of entertainment and easy to explore thanks to the convenient availability of Grab scooters, which makes getting around simple and fun.

We loved Seminyak! We went as an adult family of 6. April is an amazing time to visit far less crowds than the peak season. We were in Seminyak for 9 days and we had no rain during the day at all - perfectly sunny days all 9 days. We used Grab cars or Gojek bikes to get around - so easy and cheap. Our favourite activity was a snorkelling trip to Nusa Penida where we saw sea turtles, manta rays and beautiful coral and vibrant fish - we chose to go with Indo Compass as they are very highly rated and we could not fault them they took us to the best snorkelling spots, found all of the turtles and manta rays we went to see plus took us across the island for lunch and to visit Kelingking for our insta photos. Best spots for dinner: Casatua in Canggu (beautiful venue and food plus check out their resident rabbits); Merah Putih (more expensive but stunning in every way); Waroeng Berdadette (great food); Shamayim Kitchen (very cheap but delish near Batu Belig beach). We also loved a DJ gig at Mrs Sippy Day Club - great place!

Loved it. Easy to get around. Great restaurants and vibe. Disappointing with the complete destruction of the cliff warungs to be replaced by yet more beach clubs. Taking away the relaxed and chill of Ulu. There is a lot of development of these along with so many more villas. Sadly I think it will become exactly like Seminyak and Changgu which are now overbuilt and traffic is shocking.

Sanur was a great way to introduce myself to Bali.

Sanur was a great way to introduce myself to Bali. Quieter than some areas but still all the great beach, shopping and eating destinations. Once you are there easy to get around on foot or bike. Good for those wanting to avoid nightclubs but still be able to have a couple of beers on the beach. Good mix of age groups and nationalities along with fixed price shopping with local stores and the big Icon Bali mall if you need some aircon

Nusa Dua is an amazing beach destination, however there are no temples, rice fields or more spiritual or cultural experiences. If you are looking for something more spiritual or historical better go to Ubud

I loved that everything was within walking distance.

I loved that everything was within walking distance. Everything was so cheap, I was basically at Beauty Salons every day :-D. Make sure you get the Gogeks (like Uber Scooters), from the App only, otherwise you might end up being charged a lot more. Whatever your budget, you're still likely to have a great holiday.

Nusa Penida is wonderful, the the only sad things are the roads... really terrible condition. The beaches are very different, most of them must be reached by walking down the stairs, which are quite dangerous especially Atuh beach and Diamond beach. Going to the Diamond beach bring snack and water, no swimming usually allowed for waves, but still nice to spend some hours, no shops no restaurant, quite wild beach but reachable. Atuh beach is all stones, hard to enter to the water at around 17 no water, the ocean tide is low. But some sunbeds and also restaurants, drinks can be bought down there. Crystal beach is nice sand is cute for kids. Manta excurssion for us was negative, didnt see any. Also the ocean was very rough.

Went for 5 nights which was a little too long, spent lots of time going to Ceningen on the mopeds which was fun and lots of nice places to eat - our husbands went fishing with Adi who we met at Tamarind Beach and they caught 7 tuna over 2 days - thoroughly enjoyed it. Easy to get around and lovely people.
