- From $238.25 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.1Very Good - What previous guests thought, 36 reviewsWe were your first Guests. I was so impressed with your staff of 2! A great meal was had. You have a very interesting and capable chef; we had great conversations about food in that quiet moment before the wedding party started to fill the place. The short menu was brilliant. When I return in the early fall, I am from New Orleans, I would love to offer a Jambalaya evening. Renata is the quintessential maîtres de hotel, both engaging and practical at the same time. We had the luxury of being the first to put our heads down on our new beds. Al was in process and I look forward to seeing the totally finished project. ONWARD! You tip the scales in Þingeyri, maybe even the fishermen can have work now taking the tourists out and telling tales. Your new government girls seem to be stirring the pot, there is that, too!Guest review byJanaNetherlands
- From $195.41 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very Good - What previous guests thought, 683 reviewsEverything! The room was a really good size and clean with a nice bathroom included. I wasn’t paying attention and ended up smacking my head really hard into a cement ceiling thing and the staff were really great in handling it! The manager came in and cleaned me all up and gave me some of those tape stitches since there’s not a hospital super close by. I really appreciated them and the way I was treated. Feeling a bit panicky about potentially giving myself a concussion while driving solo they helped calm my nerves. Can’t say enough good things about this place, and want to sincerely thank the staff for the way they treated me! (I didn’t give myself a concussion thankfully, just a good scar)Guest review byBrittanyCanada
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 7.7Good - What previous guests thought, 177 reviewsFrom the moment we stepped from our car we knew we were in for a treat. Staff was so friendly and helpful. Good assortment of snacks and drinks. Great collection of vintage furniture in an open welcoming space. For those who see beauty in the ordinary, or in this case, extraordinarily we appreciated everything the vocal performance of the hallway rug to the loon calls outside our window. That said we might suggest some earplugs to drown out the sounds of sweet dreams from your neighbors. Overall unique and charming, we had fun. Absolutely will be staying again.Guest review byZenisekUnited States

Spacious, comfy bed, had a little porch like where you can watch the sunset ans sunrise! it was so romantic! LOVED this place a lot. right next to the water. they had a restaurant as well but we didn’t get to enjoy since we got there a little late. Great communication and easy check in. They offered a great breakfast spread as well, you can sit at the deck by the water. also we literally saw the northern lights right outside our cottage. AMAZING!Guest review byRuby RoseUnited States

Very nice town.
Very nice town. Was the starting and stopping point for multiple day bicycle tour of Westfjords. People were great especially Tyler Wacker of Cycling Westfjords who provided advice and support for our tour.Guest review byJohnUnited States - 10.0
Patró is my old hometown, I was born here and I love it.
Patró is my old hometown, I was born here and I love it. The beautiful mountain scenery, the still evenings like nowhere else and the amazing nature to visit in the area, Rauðasandur, Látrabjarg and the Folkmuseum at Hnjótur to name some. Don't miss out on the dining at Stúkuhúsið, we went their night after night and always got really delicious food every time. Local fish and lamb meat. Another spot not to miss is the swimming pool "with a view" and take time to visit "Pollurinn" The Hot Pool, only 25 minutes away open 24/7 Try the "Ærslabelgur" the trampolin in the town center plus the swings (any age) to add to the fun! Take a stroll down to the harbour, and alongside the waterfront. Sometimes you might even spot a whale nearby!Guest review byÞóreyIceland - 8.0
I loved the location.
I loved the location. We enjoyed a squall while hunkering down in the main dining area. Only complaint was that the access to turn on the lights in the main sitting/dining area was behind a sign that said no access/staff only. Cute and charming place with some rooms having a beautiful ocean view. There is a museum next door where we ate as during the time of year we visited was the only restaurant open. It was delicious and had a great selection for the size of the restaurant. The town is very picturesque and also has a church with rainbow steps leading up the side of a hill.Guest review byJohnUnited States - 10.0
very small quiet fishing village in north Iceland.
very small quiet fishing village in north Iceland. There is a store, and a gas station. There are hot spa pools by the sea. In the summer there is a ferry to a small island less than a km off the coast, where there are puffins.Guest review byJulietNew Zealand - 10.0
I love Iceland.
I love Iceland. This is my third trip and I would love to come back. The place is incredible. Very different from most of your world travel destinations. Love the people, the landscape and the peace and quiet.Guest review byMikeCanada - 10.0
It's a small fishing village on the edge of the fjord.
It's a small fishing village on the edge of the fjord. Travelling through the tunnel to get there was an experience. The town is beautiful and the rich and vibrant fishing industry is interesting.Guest review byNaomiUnited States - 6.0
The guest house is brand new.
The guest house is brand new. There is very little maintenance and no hospitality to speak of. It is as though you are offered a room (clean, good sized) and a kitchen (well stocked), but once you are there, you are on your own. Very little cleaning done in the shared spaces, none at all in the room. No wifi available in the room. Too bad. The guest house really needs some TLC.Guest review byInbalIsrael - 10.0
The idea base camp for time spent in the Westfjords region.
The idea base camp for time spent in the Westfjords region. If you have a rental car, you can drive anywhere else you'd like to see, but Ísafjörður has the most options for town activities. The location in the fjord is incredible. I would visit again.Guest review byMichael - 10.0
Patreksfjöður has a splendid municipal pool--go there!
Patreksfjöður has a splendid municipal pool--go there! Something else just a little different: Patreksfjöður is the recipient of some significant government funding (or so I suppose--the project had to have been a massive undertaking) to construct a huge avalanche mitigation system. It created two enormous walls wall to block and direct snow from coming off the incredibly steep sides of the fjord and burying the town--as has tragically happened in other towns located in the extremely steep-sided fjords. In Patreksfjöður, they also put a walkway along the top of the wall. It has an absolutely marvelous view out over the town to the fjord and the mountains to the south. There are benches and picnic tables to bring a lunch and enjoy the sights in clement weather. I thought it was one of the best win-wins I have ever seen!Guest review byMills - 10.0
Holmavik is a beautiful village on the Steingrimsfjordur...
Holmavik is a beautiful village on the Steingrimsfjordur with charming architecture (especially the church!) and nice restaurants. It's a perfect stop on your way to or from the West Fjords. We stayed there the last night of our 6-night visit in the West Fjords in order to be close to Drangsnes, where we were taking a boat to Grimsey Island and whale watching the next day. I booked a room in Holmavik because there weren't any available in Drangsnes, but we were so glad I did! We visited the national Witchcraft Museum while in Holmavik and ate out in one of its many restaurants. We loved Holmavik and will certainly come back on our next trip to Iceland.Guest review byJoyceUnited States
