Nice and calm neighborhood, and a beautiful historic building, with the hotel on the 4th floor. I like to explore the city by walking, so I enjoyed the location along the river. I've found great bakeries and weekend markets nearby. Kind and helpful personnel. My room was great and beautifully designed. Comfortable bed and nice bathroom. What's not to like?! everything was perfect! The location is looking out into the hills surrounded by greenary it almost looks like a painting its so surreal. The room was very large and decorated beautifully. While we didn't get to use the pool or spa as we only stayed one night we did peak in and have a look and it was amazing. We did try to stay a second night to take full advantage but understanably they were fully booked. The food is definitely the star of the show though hard to believe when everything else was so good but the meal we had was devine! One of the best meals I have ever had accompanied with one of the best bottles of wine. A special mention also to the staff who were very friendly during our short stay. We willl 100% be back for a longer break to take full advantage of everything.

Amazing place to stay at when visiting Florence - especially for families with kids, but also for everyone searching for some peace and quiet in a close vicinity to the city center - the Duomo, Piazza della Signoria and Ponte Vecchio are all just a short drive away down the hill. The entire complex is beautiful, spacious and with a lot of interesting areas to spend your time.

Such an amazing spot, a superb little villa hidden in the Tuscan hills. We had a wonderful time, perfect base to explore Florence and the neighboring cities or just to relax by the pool. The restaurant serves lovely meals with the signature olive oil that is simply amazing. Shout out to the really kind staff for making our stay even more memorable. Highly recommended.

This is the place to be to experience history and art and...

This is the place to be to experience history and art and everything great about Italy. You do have to be a bit wary for pickpockets as I could tell they tried, but with pickpocketproof pants and a vest, they were defeated every time. Just be aware. Check reviews of places before going in and if you don't see prices, walk away. Don't interact with vendors that come up to you or want something or are there "to help" without you asking first. There are so many places to see and things to do and day trip options (even to Milan like we did) that you won't ever run out of activities and will always have some new thing to try. Don't hesitate, this beats Rome by a mile! This is not a place to just pass through in a day or two, it is one you want to come back to again and again. Easy to find tours and day trips around Tuscany, and even take a high speed train to Milan for a day trip (we did).

The place I stayed was great, the owner was so sweet that she was willing to give me a ride to the train station by my departure. The breakfasts that she made was very delicious and at the time I needed (for Tuscany tour i needed to leave at 6:30am instead of regular breakfast at 7:30am) she prepared it for me. Only some minus I would give to a distance from the train station to the property. But from other hand it was a good exercise:)

San Casciano is remote in the beautiful Tuscan Hills, although just 40 minutes slow drive to Florence The hotel is 7 minutes outside the town, so walking is difficult. Need a car to go anywhere. Taxis are not available. This hotel is pretty good, but the much-acclaimed restaurant is, at best, just above average and pricey. Claims to be "special" but isn't! Terrace dining is romantic but watch the wasps in the daytime and mosquitos in the evening. Swmming pool fairly small and crowded. Grounds are pristine and lots of lovely bougainvillea. Reception staff smile a lot. Huge carpark!

there is a beautiful lake, many places to park for free or a nice marina that rents beach chairs , with full service bar and restaurant, paddle rent, etc. there is a race track with regular events, golf course near by and a famous shopping outlet, and its only 40 min from Florence.

We used Empoli as a base as the train station offered many possibilities as a central hub. We did however really enjoy a lovely walk in the scenic hills. The center was clean and had a really nice vibe to it and the locals were very friendly. We were also told by a historian that the city had a good museum of art although we didn't have time to investigate further unfortunately due to time.

Vinci is special.

Vinci is special. The Leonardo da Vinci museums are extremely interesting and also the villa where he was born. The town is charming with ancient villas, and fabulous vistas. The people are really nice, friendly and helpful. Also there are wonderful restaurants.

Having visited Florence many times over the years, this quick trip was a refreshing reminder. Highlight of this visit was the opportunity to go onto the scaffold at Santa Maria Novella to see close-up the restoration work on Masaccio's Trinity. We also ate very well.
