The property is nothing short of fantastic, with a wonderful staff who are kind and available for any request. The rooms are beautiful, not very large but super cozy and equipped with all the comforts you can expect. Reading some reviews here on Booking, I was a bit concerned about the noise from the highway and the breakfast buffet. But I want to reassure everyone. The highway does indeed pass close to the property, but you can only hear a little noise from the poolside loungers; there is no problem in the rooms, where you can live in total peace and relaxation. Those who criticized the breakfast in the reviews now just make me laugh. The buffet is set up on an old and beautiful billiard table, where you can find many delicious products: a wide selection of freshly baked croissants, cakes and plumcakes, ham and salami, bread of various kinds, jams and sweet spreads, fresh yogurt, seasonal fruits and vegetables, cheeses... and also an excellent selection for lactose intolerant and gluten-free diets. However, I confirm that pancakes and omelettes are charged separately, but with all the selection available, there is no need to order any paid consumption! We spent the last dinner of our stay in Florence at the hotel's restaurant, choosing the chef's tasting menu with wine pairing. Everything was excellent, both the food and the wine... the menu offers so many options that it's almost hard to choose what you want to eat, so the tasting menu solution is perfect for spending a magnificent evening.

Staying at Borgo Del Cabreo was an absolutely enchanting experience, as we were able to revel in the tranquility and stunning vistas of the surrounding countryside. It was truly the perfect retreat that we had been hoping for. The breakfast offered was exceptional, with a wide range of delicious options to choose from, and we also had the pleasure of enjoying their excellent in-house Chianti wine. We would definitely recommend this place.

The place I stayed was great, the owner was so sweet that she was willing to give me a ride to the train station by my departure. The breakfasts that she made was very delicious and at the time I needed (for Tuscany tour i needed to leave at 6:30am instead of regular breakfast at 7:30am) she prepared it for me. Only some minus I would give to a distance from the train station to the property. But from other hand it was a good exercise:)

San Casciano is remote in the beautiful Tuscan Hills, although just 40 minutes slow drive to Florence The hotel is 7 minutes outside the town, so walking is difficult. Need a car to go anywhere. Taxis are not available. This hotel is pretty good, but the much-acclaimed restaurant is, at best, just above average and pricey. Claims to be "special" but isn't! Terrace dining is romantic but watch the wasps in the daytime and mosquitos in the evening. Swmming pool fairly small and crowded. Grounds are pristine and lots of lovely bougainvillea. Reception staff smile a lot. Huge carpark!

there is a beautiful lake, many places to park for free or a nice marina that rents beach chairs , with full service bar and restaurant, paddle rent, etc. there is a race track with regular events, golf course near by and a famous shopping outlet, and its only 40 min from Florence.

Vinci is special.

Vinci is special. The Leonardo da Vinci museums are extremely interesting and also the villa where he was born. The town is charming with ancient villas, and fabulous vistas. The people are really nice, friendly and helpful. Also there are wonderful restaurants.

We used Empoli as a base as the train station offered many possibilities as a central hub. We did however really enjoy a lovely walk in the scenic hills. The center was clean and had a really nice vibe to it and the locals were very friendly. We were also told by a historian that the city had a good museum of art although we didn't have time to investigate further unfortunately due to time.

I loved being able to walk everywhere I wanted to go from my hotel location, though I do recommend venturing farther out from the Duomo for better, more authentic food. The only complaint I could come up with would be that the locals tended to give very vague directions (“oh,it’s just over there” or “it’s only seven minutes walk from here” with no further explanation), however there is free WiFi available (FeelFlorence or Firenze Free WiFi) for use, so I was able to figure it out.
