We had an great time there, even with the bad weather. Rooms are large (at least the one we've had), modern and very well cleaned. It's very well placed, not too far from Portofino, and with a little effort (and a car) even the Cinque Terre can be visited from this base. Both restaurants are very good quality, we've had dinner in both of them. Breakfast is not buffet, so it's difficult to compare it with other 5 star hotels, but it's good enough.

A beautiful boutique hotel with a warm, attentive staff who truly made me feel very comfortable. Delicious breakfast, a wide variety of healthy choices(eggs,italian cheese, fruits, vegetables, seeds, different types of honey and jams), tea and coffee served in elegant and fine cups, in a dreamy garden setting. It was the perfect way to start the day. The rooftop terrace with a panoramic stunning view was also a highlight of my staying there. Perfect location of the hotel, close to the center, and in a quiet area. I would gladly return and highly recommend it to anyone seeking good taste and a serene place to stay.

Ingles, Español, Italino: Todo espectalular, Tutto spettacolare Everything was spectacular. Many good things to highlight: daily cleaning with new towels, perfumed scent, vacuumed floors, etc. What caught our attention was the detail of the candles lit at night in the courtyard, giving the place a very romantic touch, also showing the concern to create a first-class environment. Villa Agnese also has the detail of ambient music even in the courtyard, at breakfast, which we appreciated a lot as other places don't have that detail. The 24-hour attention is worth noting, with very friendly staff always helping. The garage is excellent, spacious, and secure, and furthermore, the entire premises are enclosed, top-notch security, something very important since we rented a car. Everything very well maintained, courtyard, nature, room, with places to sit outside and enjoy the fresh air. The room perfectly painted and arranged with pleasant colors, with three curtains to cover the light and also to give an elegant touch to the windows. The initials of V.A in various parts and the name even on the napkins we liked a lot. The bathroom is large, perfectly equipped, good mirrors, very good shower, hot water, everything working perfectly. Good temperature and air in the room. Excellent breakfast with plenty to choose from and first-class service. Clean pool, crystal-clear water. The owners are very friendly, who also have the detail of giving a gift to their customers at the time of check-out, a detail that we hadn't seen before even though we've stayed in many hotels. If we return to northern Italy, we will definitely return to Villa Agnese, we recommend it wholeheartedly. Honestly, we can't find anything negative, quite the opposite, on a scale of 10 we give it a 20 :). Minutes away from the city center by car and on foot. Quiet place, excellent

What an exceptional hotel! The staff were the kindest most generous people, who went out of their way to accommodate us, including arranging an express laundry service (back the same day, perfectly folded!), a service car to drop us at the train station from the hotel (and also offered us pick up from the station upon our arrival), bringing warmed milk to our room for a cup of tea, and had endless local tips on restaurants, the best way to get to the Cinque Terre and best kept secrets to see. The hotel itself was immaculate, clean, and quite, with an astounding rooftop sun deck and bar. The staff gave us the best room in the hotel, which was an apparent free upgrade, the top middle room with a double balcony. We couldn’t imagine a better stay, we just wished we booked for longer. Thank you to the beautiful team, Rodolfo our delightful waiter with his Australian stories, and Joel our lovely host. Thank you!

We loved the place! The location is perfect, the town is very cute and the hotel is 2 streets away from the beach! The room was big and simple but very clean and comfortable! We had beautiful view over the church. Good breakfast, staff very friendly! I would stay here again and definitely come back!

Unfortunately I was only spending one night and a morning there but from what I experienced it was a vibrant and busy town with a great atmosphere. The staff in the Ristorante Nettuno Lungamore had excellent food and extremely friendly staff who were very attentive to my dog 🐕 😀

We loved Santa Margherita Ligure.

We loved Santa Margherita Ligure. You are able to take nice waterfront walks, all the way to Portofino if you want. The city wasn't too crowded when we were there in October and makes an excellent base to explore other areas like the Cinque Terre, which is only 1 hour away by train. There were many restaurants to choose from and local grocery stores with reasonable prices.

Weird place.

Weird place. One side is terribly middle class, in the worst way. Another side, near the bocciofila, is old school lovely. The center is pretty dead - a few restaurants, but that's all. The sea is lively with waves and currents.

Sestri Levante is a medium sized town with two beautiful beaches facing in opposite directions so you can see both the sunrise and sunset. When you get tired of the beach, you can do easy day trips to Cinque Terre, Portofino, Genoa, and other Ligurian towns.

Lavagna is much quieter compared to the nearby towns of...

Lavagna is much quieter compared to the nearby towns of Cinque Terre and also felt much more off the beaten track than La Spezia for example. This was exactly what we were looking for, because although it's not a tourist hot spot we were never short of places to go for a coffee or a meal. Everyone was very gracious with my limited Italian. The beachfront is gorgeous and there is a lot of free beach vs further south. With a local market and shops, we could easily have spent our whole holiday in Lavagna. I can't wait to return for hopefully a much longer stay. Just a beautiful town with lovely people.

It is a very small place with little activities to do.

It is a very small place with little activities to do. A day trip without overnight stay is good enough. If you have covered Cinque Terre, it is not necessary to add this place to your itinerary. I do not recommend to stay at "Portofino Finestra sul Mare - Free Parking - AC" (Address: Piazza Martiri dell-Olivetta, 15, 16034 Portofino Italy). Difficult access over a tight old bridge & steep, narrow access road which might put some people off. Also lots of steep steps from car park up to the Villa, some of which needed repair. Nice small seaside area which a few good restaurants & promenade.
