This is an excellent hotel and largely exceeded my expectations! The hotel is beautiful and spotlessly clean, with strong air conditioning in the lobby and the rooms. We had a triple room (double bed + one single bed) and it was large, clean and equipped with all needed, including the AC control which we could set ourselves to the desired temperature. A special mention goes to the staff, they were so kind, they added an extra layer of pleasantness to an already great hotel

Amazing location.Sea view even from the bathroom! During low season is the perfect place to be. Few steps from the beach, literally. In high season noise might be an issue if you want to rest at night, as people walk up and down the promenade and there's no air con so window open would be a must.

Francesca is a fantastic host, very helpful with great tips. She really spoiled us during our stay. The room we had was spacious and was beautifully decorated. The B&B has an arrangement with a bar nearby ( on a beautiful square) for breakfast (vouchers), which was very nice. The location of the B&B is very close to the sea and the old center. We had a fantastic stay.

I fell in love with Chiavari!

I fell in love with Chiavari! A beautiful, clean, elegant place with a vibrant local Italian community feel. It’s so easy to get around, with stylish canopies over the walkways by the shops, so it doesn’t matter whether it rains or shines. The station is a gateway to many places - it’s a very good base for the area. A great daily market too. And of course the beach and the promenade are an added bonus. You must go to Luchin for a meal in a restaurant that was established in 1907! The locals were pouring in, and the huge pan of freshly made farinata in the wood oven gone in a minute! I can’t recommend Chiavari enough, as well as the Hotel Stella Del Mare.

Weird place.

Weird place. One side is terribly middle class, in the worst way. Another side, near the bocciofila, is old school lovely. The center is pretty dead - a few restaurants, but that's all. The sea is lively with waves and currents.

Chiavari itself is not a tourist destination, but it is a very friendly city . It has plenty options for shopping and dining. The location is a perfect intermediate point if you are visiting Cinqueterre for one side, and Santa Margherita and Portofino on the other site. Transportation by train to those places is easy and no expensive. Personnel at the train ticket office speaks fluent English and are very helpful when planning you route.

Chiavari is a beautiful town in the Ligurian Riviera.

Chiavari is a beautiful town in the Ligurian Riviera. Amazing shopping opportunities and great choices of restaurants. From Chiavari you can go everywhere to Cinque Terre, Camogli and San Fruttuoso and many other amazing locations. I love this town and I recommend it.

We stayed in Chiavari cause we didn’t find another...

We stayed in Chiavari cause we didn’t find another appropriate accommodation in Cinque Terre, but I’m so glad it happened this way, because Chiavari is one beautiful small town (but not too small), charming and interesting. In my opinion it is more interesting than Cinque Terre. There are a lot of restaurants, bakeries, different shops, beautiful streets, typical italien architecture, sea side and so on. We stayed for two days there, but I will come again for sure, at least for four days or more. It is close to Portofino and Cinque Terre (in a between), has better parking options, there is also a train station and trains go very often to different destinations.
