Close to the main attractions: harbor (5-7 minutes by foot), beach (3-4 minutes by foot) and the city center with the pedestrian street where there are restaurants and shops (4-5 minutes by foot). Don't miss for lunch or for dinner Osteria da Vittorio, located in the city center, where most of the clients are the locals (it's always full outside and inside and the food is great). The hotel is also close to the train station (4-5 minutes by foot), which is perfect for the ones who want to explore Cinque Terre, Sestri Levante, Camogli, Rapallo or Portofino. Our room, which was a triple room, was spacious and comfortable. The cleanliness is exemplary throughout the hotel, and the staff very kind. Breakfast, for the ones who visited Italy before, is typical Italian: lighter, yet sweeter (croissants, cookies, jams, honey), with some other options also, like cheese, ham, salami, omelette and fruits (apples and oranges).

This is an excellent hotel and largely exceeded my expectations! The hotel is beautiful and spotlessly clean, with strong air conditioning in the lobby and the rooms. We had a triple room (double bed + one single bed) and it was large, clean and equipped with all needed, including the AC control which we could set ourselves to the desired temperature. A special mention goes to the staff, they were so kind, they added an extra layer of pleasantness to an already great hotel

Amazing location.Sea view even from the bathroom! During low season is the perfect place to be. Few steps from the beach, literally. In high season noise might be an issue if you want to rest at night, as people walk up and down the promenade and there's no air con so window open would be a must.

I fell in love with Chiavari!

I fell in love with Chiavari! A beautiful, clean, elegant place with a vibrant local Italian community feel. It’s so easy to get around, with stylish canopies over the walkways by the shops, so it doesn’t matter whether it rains or shines. The station is a gateway to many places - it’s a very good base for the area. A great daily market too. And of course the beach and the promenade are an added bonus. You must go to Luchin for a meal in a restaurant that was established in 1907! The locals were pouring in, and the huge pan of freshly made farinata in the wood oven gone in a minute! I can’t recommend Chiavari enough, as well as the Hotel Stella Del Mare.

Weird place.

Weird place. One side is terribly middle class, in the worst way. Another side, near the bocciofila, is old school lovely. The center is pretty dead - a few restaurants, but that's all. The sea is lively with waves and currents.

Chiavari itself is not a tourist destination, but it is a...

Chiavari itself is not a tourist destination, but it is a very friendly city . It has plenty options for shopping and dining. The location is a perfect intermediate point if you are visiting Cinqueterre for one side, and Santa Margherita and Portofino on the other site. Transportation by train to those places is easy and no expensive. Personnel at the train ticket office speaks fluent English and are very helpful when planning you route.

Chiavari is a beautiful town in the Ligurian Riviera.

Chiavari is a beautiful town in the Ligurian Riviera. Amazing shopping opportunities and great choices of restaurants. From Chiavari you can go everywhere to Cinque Terre, Camogli and San Fruttuoso and many other amazing locations. I love this town and I recommend it.

We stayed in Chiavari cause we didn’t find another appropriate accommodation in Cinque Terre, but I’m so glad it happened this way, because Chiavari is one beautiful small town (but not too small), charming and interesting. In my opinion it is more interesting than Cinque Terre. There are a lot of restaurants, bakeries, different shops, beautiful streets, typical italien architecture, sea side and so on. We stayed for two days there, but I will come again for sure, at least for four days or more. It is close to Portofino and Cinque Terre (in a between), has better parking options, there is also a train station and trains go very often to different destinations. Chiavari is a pretty little place right on the beach.

Chiavari is a pretty little place right on the beach. The town centre is porticoes with lots of nice little restaurants. It gets very crowded and expensive in summer, but off season its a lovely place to visit. The cemetery up the hill is lovely and the centre of town has a nice antiques market one sunday a month. There is a bit of art deco architecture.

Apartment is clean, nice and spacious. The breakfast is awesome and we got fresh pastries and bread in the morning. The owner is very nice and accommodating: she let us check in earlier and told us about the flower festival going on it Chiavari during our stay. Location: the apartment is located in 25 min walk from the train station. The path to it leads through an adorable town streets and a central square. Totally worth walking around!

Hotel is situated in the old quarter and has every facility. We were upgraded to a gorgeous room. Breakfast and it's choices were amazing. I have to say all the staff were friendly, always happy with big smiles and made you feel special. A special shout out to Francesca on reception. A lovely lady who went above and beyond for us in many ways. A wonderful hotel and would definitely return.

We loved having breakfast on the (covered) rooftop every morning, Airconditioning was quiet and such a treat at the end of a hot day, staff were very friendly and professional, location of hotel was perfect : close to the beach and train station to nearby towns. Our room was big and comfortable. We loved our family stay here!

Hotel Ferrari has great location when you want to explore Cinque Terre, Portofinio and Genoa. Hotel is near train station, old city center is nearby with nice shops and market. City is much better than La Spezia. Stuff in hotel is very kind. Room was nice, every morning cleaned. Breakfast was satisfied.
