Very imposing building . Good room. Wonderful dinner . Good breakfast. We arrived walking into Sutri very tired, telephoned Danielli who kindly arranged a transfer to the hotel, which is some way south of the town. He provided outstanding service as did the waitress and chef at dinner. The following morning we were directed back to the Via Francegina most efficiently .

The best of this camping was that is was right on the lake.. how great is was to get up and to enjoy a great swim in the quiet waters, with the most fantastic view.. The camping was very wel organized. the camping shop had everything even fresh bread, there was animation in the evening, and there was a bar with a nice terrace. We even saw that there was a surf school. The village is a bit far by foot I guess, but we had a car ( there is a great parking for the cars just outside the camping) and then the village is easy to reach. The old part is amazing and the boulevard has a nice turning wheel which alows you to see the lake from above. We only stayed one night, but it left us a great memory. Certainly a place I would like to go back.

Everything in this resort is just outstanding. The apartment is nice and large enough with classic (old-type furniture). There is air-conditioning system in the rooms and a large terrace where you can have lunches. The park is really wonderful and the swimming pool is just marvelous. The people taking care of the resort are really nice and friendly. We have had such a good time there, it is a very quite place not far from the seaside (< 2 km).

Viterbo is a very old historic city.

We started this trip in Tarquinia because it is only 60-90 min from the airport and we were interested in learning about Etruscan history and culture. It is very easy to reach, easy to find public parking, and easy to navigate the town on foot. Perfect example of a small hill town in this area. Plenty to see- the town itself, including the churches I find so appealing, the Etruscan museum, a real jewel of a museum, and the Etruscan tombs. We visited Etruscan museums and tombs in other (larger) cities, and these were really well done. Lots of good restaurants and shops, too. We felt that two days was about perfect, given the size of the town.

Ronciglione exceeded all our expectations.

Ronciglione exceeded all our expectations. We recommend it to everyone. The old part is very authentic, it is worth entering every street and alley. Go down into the valley. The city looks incredible from below. The road through the valley is very romantic. Be sure to walk down the valley to the old railway bridge - it looks really impressive. The village does not look very touristy, but for us that was only a plus.

Bolsena is absolutely closed in January.

Bolsena is absolutely closed in January. All of the Restaurants and all of the shops are closed. Someone told me one restaurant was open some days but I didn't go. Every other month this town is beautiful, full of hidden gems and alleys in the old cobblestoned streets to explore, totally safe, full of vibrant shops and excellent restaurants. The big churches and old mansions turned exhibition spaces are super interesting, and the lakeside area is wonderful too, making it a place full of variety where one can spend a week split between relaxing and shopping and enjoy every day you are there. They have the most extraordinary Ayurvedic Masseuse there, Elena, who uses authentic oils and spices in her treatments and offers Shirodhara also. A wonderful bonus! Find her in the little alley near the Bio Lavandaria opposite the Post Office.

A very beautiful Italian mountain town.

A very beautiful Italian mountain town. Hard to get to without a car. Buses do not run on Sundays. Taxis are also hard to come by and cost 50 euros each way from Orvieto. That's if you can find one to take you. It was challenging in that way but I'm glad I went!

We were four friends traveling together. We have been friends since we were 8 years old, and we were celebrating our 50th birthday. Everything exceeded our expectations - inside, outside and the host. It was jus the perfect balance for us. We recommend it or anybody looking for a retreat in the country side, but still close to a municipality and several historic sites and hot thermal pools - it is surely a house in the woods. We just absolutely loved it, and Simona was so friendly and gave us amazing suggestions on activity in a short drive away. The atmosphere was so friendly that we would rather stay in and cook dinner than go out - just so friendly, cozy, and welcoming :)

This is a small, lovely one thousand year old town about a 1hr 15 mins north of Rome. We ate at Taverna Roberteschi in a little laneway within the castle walls. The food was fantastic, the service was excellent and the wine was fabulous. I am vegetarian and there was a delicious ravioli with saffron cream sauce that I would highly recommend! It was easy and safe to walk around this pretty village at night. We suggest that you ask the waiter at the Taverna about the easiest way to leave the town as on our first visit we found the streets very narrow to drive through but after asking the waiter on our second visit, the exit he gave us was much more straightforward and easier to navigate.

This is a must see for Italy lovers, in my opinion.

This is a must see for Italy lovers, in my opinion. The history and art is extremely interesting and the ancient city is one you can get lost in, wandering down narrow charming streets, stumbling upon a palazzo from medieval times, or coming upon a breathtaking view. Viterbo is not a curated experience, such as Montalcino or Montepulciano. It is a bit gritty and caters to its community, not tourists. Its Etruscan and medieval era history and art is exceptional if limited. A great stopping off point if heading north from Rome. There are hot springs in the area which we didn't have time to experience.

The town is a classic Italian hill town with a rich history, a wonderful museum of its Etruscan heritage, and some excellent restaurants and night life. But the old city is characterized by narrow streets and few, if any places to park a rental car. Almost all parking is at remote pay by the hour lots scattered around the lower parts of the old city close to the city walls. We eventually found a largish hotel (Hotel Tarconte) just above the city wall on the ocean side of the town not far from the Hospital with free parking on the street in both front and opposite the hotel. The hotel is family owned and operated and the owner was friendly and generous and made a dinner reservation for us the second night of our stay at a seaside restaurant which was excellent in terms of service, food and value. We enjoyed walking about the old city both during the day and after nightfall, the Etruscan museum was a delight, and the people--especially the young people, were friendly and helpful. The location, just an hour north of the FCO airport, is a good get away destination for new arrivals who don't want to go into Rome and deal with city congestion after a long airline flight.
