absolutely incredible experience!!! from the room (superior room with views of the garden - and views for days honestly), the location of the hotel, the breakfast in the garden with an unexpected pet turtle visit (they have 6 turtles in the garden), to the pet-friendlyness (we brought our dachshund), to the staff, to the state of the art A/C, the historic decor - everything was perfection. what a treasure. we will never forget this stay.

On the taxi ride over, you are greeted with a breathtaking view of Tuscan vineyards, and it only gets better from there. We were welcomed by the lovely Andrea, and he helped us get settled in and gave us a tour of the place. Once we got into our rooms, we were in awe of all the decor, and we almost fell asleep immediately because of how comfortable the beds were. Instead, we rested by the pool and got a few cocktails (I recommend the Hugo spritz and the Il Segreto). We were so relaxed, time flew by so quickly. Soon came dinner, and it felt like luxury to have so many courses be presented to you, and they all tasted delightful. The next day, we trekked to San Gimignano, which allowed us to see the beautiful views (or you can take the bus). If you plan to go on a Thursday, I recommend checking if Gelateria dondoli has gelato making classes. Otherwise, I recommend eating some Italian Garden gelato at their store. Be sure to check out the tower and cathedral as well. We were also greeted by the lovely Pedro and Diego during our second dinner, and they have been the best hosts I have ever met. They are so attentive, always willing to help, and if you need any recommendations or directions, they are very resourceful. I recommend asking if there are any cooking classes because we had so much fun making lunch. And I recommend going for the Florentine steak for at least one of the nights because it was one of the best steaks we have ever had. Overall, the staff are amazing, the food and drinks are delightful and the amenities you will love. It was the best part of our trip, and is now my favourite place in Europe. We'll definitely be coming back.

As a World Heritage site, its ancient history and incredibly well preserved medieval architecture…just the whole ambiance of the place…wandering alleys that were trod 1000 years ago…what an experience! A great town for just following one’s nose following a hunch through alleys and around corners. The only warning I have is that the town sits on the top of the hill…therefore, one of the Tuscan “hill towns” so be prepare for fairly strenuous walks from the entry gate up to the piazzas and castle.

I have been to Tuscany more times than I can count. This is my first time stopping in and staying in Colle di Val d'Elsa. The location is very close to all the major sites in Tuscany. Volterra and San Gimignano are extremely closeby as well as Chianti. There is a charm to the old town area of Colle di Val d'Elsa, not a ton of tourists like the other sites in the area.

Cute little spot, we only stayed there for one evening on our way down to Val D'Orcia from Pisa Airport. The town itself is lovely, we came on a Thursday evening and wandered into the village for a pizza at Happy Days which was great and so tasty, the staff were also lovely. There was also some great karaoke going on at one of the bars which seemed to be locals and some tourists enjoying their evening. It was lovely! Definitely recommend visiting here, there seemed to be lots more lovely restaurants too.

What we loved most was the authentic Tuscan atmosphere, the fantastic breakfast, the peaceful surroundings and Francesco’s warm hospitality. The location is also ideal for exploring many of Tuscany’s beautiful villages. On the downside, the 1.3 km dirt road leading to the property is in poor condition – something to be aware of, especially if arriving at night or with a low car. The strict check-in time (only until 7pm) can be challenging for those travelling from afar. The room didn’t quite match the photos, and the bathroom was missing even basic toiletries like hand soap – something we found surprising and inconvenient. Tips for future visitors: Bring your own toiletries, especially if arriving by plane. Plan to arrive well before 7pm. Be prepared for a bumpy road – drive slowly and carefully. If you're an early riser, plan breakfast accordingly or bring a snack. Despite these small issues, the beauty of the place and the welcoming host made our stay special.

We were in the Certaldo area the same week that Mercantia was happening. It was vibrant, lively and super fun! We rode the funicular up to Certaldo Alto and had dinner at Ristorante l'Antica Fonte, walked around and enjoyed all of the performers, shops, street vendors and the spectacular view. We want to the lower part of Certaldo too, and really enjoyed the pottery shop of Ceramiche Artistiche Ninci.
