We end up buying food from a nearby convenience store. Big plus for how dark it gets around midnight to dawn. You should be able to see the stars with naked eye and with camera and tripod, you should be able to take picture of the milkyway with Hakata-Ōshima Bridge in the foreground. Just cross the road and walk left from the hotel to the nearby beach/parking lot for a clearer view of the bridge. View from the room outside is also very scenic in the morning with the palm trees.

This is the BEST guest house we've stayed in during our time in Japan. It is spacious, modern, immaculate, and comfortable. We cooked a lovely dinner in the well-appointed kitchen (there is a grocery store within walking distance). There were a few condiments and other things should you need just a bit of something. We also did laundry (hung some outside and some in the bathroom with this neat air heating machine). The shampoo and hand soap is absolutely lovely and worth a mention. There are a couple fun extras like a mini ping pong table and a tiny gaming console. Shin is a lovely and kind host, providing route and sightseeing recommendations. We only wish we had stayed longer!
