I booked the hotel based on the good reviews, and it really didn't disappoint me . The staff were very polite and helpful going above and beyond to help us during our stay of 4 nights . Location is very good with a lot of good restaurant qithin walkining distance . Gion district and nishiki market are just nearby . Kyoto station is 5 min by taxi and 20 min by walking . There's a soba restaurant a few steps away from the hotel recommended by the staff. It was really good, and you should really try if you're soba lover . The hotels provide basic skin care at the reception, which is amazing. We love our stay in this hotel and will definitely come back if we visit again .

We loved the warm community space set up with games and books in the hotel lobby. The 24 hour lounge with food and coffee was icing on the cake. The complimentary refillable water bottles, bikes, umbrellas and coin laundry were great amenities to have.

Great location and close to many local bars, restaurants and the Main Street. Room was huge by Japan standards, and very clean and space efficient. Staff were so friendly, and shared personal recommendations on what to see and do in the area. Will definitely be staying here again when we’re back in Kyoto.

The hotel itself is huge, very well kept and stylized. The staff were nice and spoke English well so it was easy as a foreigner. The room itself was large and extremely clean as the rest of the hotel. The bed was comfortable. The bath was large and very nice, they provide you with bath salts for a nice soak. There were a few different tea sets you could try, one of them being a matcha set. It was quiet, I couldn't hear my neighbors at all. I got a massage, the masseuse was very nice and professional, I felt relaxed. The food at the restaurants was very good as well, there were a few options for different cuisines and budgets. Overall a great experience and value for money. I came to relax and managed to do just that!

I appreciate the helpfulness of the staff in dealing with unexpected problems of a personal nature. The rooms were absolutely clean, fully equipped, with all the amenities one needs during the daily routine on a business trip. The refrigerator in the room is a great advantage, but also the deodorant for clothes, especially on hot and sultry summer days in Osaka.

I can say that the location of the room is the best in Kyoto. The view from our room was of Hōkan-ji Temple, it was very happy to start the day with this view. Our room and bathroom are large by Japanese standards. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

The location of Sanco Inn was perfect.

The location of Sanco Inn was perfect. Just opposite Kyoto Station. I went to Kinkakuji and did some shopping. It was a brief visit. I will surely be back and book Sanco Inn again. There was an onsen and the customer service was excellent.

Beautiful surroundings, not many tourists, cable cars to both sides of the water bridge were great, I went on a hike on one (although they want you to pay for the bus, it was a bit much, so I walked to the temple). I walked across the water bridge about 3 times, great walk, and a great solo trip even for women alone. I recommend it. I did also one day trip to boat villgae Inu - amazing. Recommend to go on the boat with locals.

Kameoka is the starting point of the famous and historical...

Kameoka is the starting point of the famous and historical Hozu River rafting ride that takes you to Arashiyama, home of the famous bamboo forest. Enjoy the rafting, enjoy Arashiyama and take the train back to Kameoka. Hotel is a 5 minute walk from the station. A perfect day.

Gionmachi is a wonderful section of Kyoto and offers much to see and experience. It is easy, maybe 15 to 20 minutes taxi to other areas of Kyoto that are also beautiful, historical and traditional. Overall, this is a place I would come back to because I have much more to see.

It is a city which you feel history wherever you turn, has a lot of modern updates and offers so much to travelers from all over the world. If you want to soak up all the history, visit temples and shrines to your hearts content. Of course there are shopping at well-known boutiques to small Japanese craft made by artisans. There are always new discoveries no matter how many times you visit here. I highly recommend visiting in the fall if you want to avoid too many tourists.

We did not know what to expect.

We did not know what to expect. Our visit was in December so it was pretty quiet. We had rain the first day but we were able to do most of the highlights on day 2. We walked the entire beach path had lunch and walked it back. Very nice walk.

I especially recommend it to travelers from overseas.

I especially recommend it to travelers from overseas. If you are sightseeing in Kyoto, Nara, or Osaka for a few days, staying at this facility and using Kameoka as your base will be the best way to travel to Kansai. Like taking a day trip from your home. If your schedule is 2 nights and 3 days or 3 nights and 4 days, it is definitely a good deal even if you add transportation expenses. You can't stay in a house in Kyoto or Nara.

I loved this hotel!!! The service was outstanding. The rooms were beautiful and clean. The location was perfect - close to town but not in town. We walked everywhere and felt very safe. Close to the train station as well. I will certainly stay here on my next trip to Kyoto.

Plenty of trips available from Kyoto.

Plenty of trips available from Kyoto. We visited Nara park, where the deer are. Also took part in a tea ceremony. Buses made it easy to get around. Also visited Golden temple and silver temples. Fushimi Inari Taisha, many Tori gates. And Arashiyama bamboo forest.

Miyazu which includes Amanohashidate, is one of three...

Miyazu which includes Amanohashidate, is one of three natural sites in Japan. The land bridge spans across the sea is fun to view from the observation points (on both sides) and you can actually bike (20 minutes) or walk (50 minutes) one way across. A small town with lots of charm and beauty.
