Love the rooftop onsen/hotspring as well. The breakfast buffet is decent too. The free luggage-storage during check-in and check-out days are really convenient for me as my departing flight is at night. I also appreciate the free luggage weighing scale at the lobby.Guest review byGuang XingMalaysia

Side city of tokyo not crowded by foreign tourists, Short distance from place with great nature like Hachioji castle ruins, mount takao and sagamiko. Also good shopping experience in downtown and neighboring cities.Guest review byIriyaaMalaysia - 10.0
Love this neighbourhood.
Love this neighbourhood. I lived in Japan for several years, 2 decades ago, and I have gone back a few times for a visit. First time for me to be in Tachikawa. It has great vibe, a bit of hustle bustle, but not crowded and suffocating like Shinjuku or Shibuya. Lots of shops and cheap restaurants. Not touristy at all and you can observe locals doing their everyday business if that is your thing.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

Fuchu was a wonderful town to stay in on the outskirts of Tokyo. It has a slower, more relaxed atmosphere than central tokyo. The people were friendly and there was plenty to do and see. The tree lined main street leading to the temple was beautiful. And there were some local parks that were nice to walk to.Guest review bymitchUnited States - 8.0
The island is lovely and has many outdoor activities.
The island is lovely and has many outdoor activities. But you will likely need to rent a car to reach some of the more remote areas easily. There are buses and taxis, but you may have to wait quite a bit of time. Many of the restaurants will close during the afternoon and early evening, so be sure to have some snacks prepared or stay in a place with a kitchen.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

Machida has everything you need for shopping plus the Odakyu Line into Shinjuku or the Yokohama Line into Yokohama if you need to hit the big time. Still comoared to most North American towns, Westerners will think Machida is HUUUUGE and super busy. For Kanto region I'd saw it's a hub for Kanagawa but manageable. Food choices at and around the station are excellent. Hotels are way cheaper than in central Tokyo yet you are only 30 to 60 mins on any train to wherever you need to go. Direct buses from Narita and Henda airports as well so no need to deal with hauling luggage on trains. Or just takyubin (courier) luggage to Mahcida from airport.Guest review byBDonutCanada - 10.0
The city is literally amazing.
The city is literally amazing. Everything you could want is right there in your hotel or walking distance. Great cafes, izakayas, shopping, exploring-literally everything. Not as busy as some areas in Tokyo, and I fell in love. Will be back soon.Guest review byChristopherUnited States - 10.0

Japan is a wonderful country to visit and I love Tokyo. Two of my favorite places in Tokyo are the Meiji Shrine & Gardens and the Tokyo Metropolitan Teien Art Museum. Also, the Natuional Museum of Wetsern Art is surprisingly good.Guest review byDavidUnited States - 10.0

Excellent location for shopping, I spent a lot of time browsing the shops and trying food, especially around Celeo by the station. The station is massive and you are able to conveniently go anywhere from there. My favourite place to eat was at Sherlock Holmes, close by to the station. They are fantastic, it's a great place to dine out and the food is amazing. The bakeries in the area are great as well, such as DONQ.Guest review byMaja. - 10.0

I went to Tachikawa for a concert at Tachikawa Stage Garden and it was my very first time visiting there. Life in Tachikawa seems to be a bit more laid-back than central Tokyo even though it's a big city as well. Meaning, you get to enjoy the convience and entertainment of what big cities offer, but it's a bit less crowded and less chaotic. Showa Kinen National Park is a great place. I spent two afternoons there to clear my head and connect with nature. Highly recommend. I'll definately be back for the unexplored spots such as the art museums and many eateries.Guest review byPei HsuanUnited Kingdom
