On the mekong is as the name says located directly on the mekong. The views are amazing. The rooms are clean and really beautiful. Nice shower as well! The owner Henry & all the staff is super friendly & warmhearted. The cultivate a very concious interaction with the guests, staff and environment. Henry even asked us for our opinion on a building project on site. We would come back any time!

The location is great, right around the corner from the night market. The building itself is stunning and was the only place I’d been during my time in South East Asia that managed to be comfortable without air-conditioning! The staff were really helpful and the breakfast was delicious.

This was our nicest stay in Laos. We initially booked for one night but ended up staying for 4 nights. The location is lovely, there is a very nice balcony on which you can sit in the hot afternoons and have a few beers overlooking the river. The room is very clean and has good air-conditioning and a big sized comfortable bed. Breakfast is pretty good, you get some fresh fruits as well. Robert was really helpful and friendly and helped us plan all our transport with zero stress. Very friendly people here. Loved our stay!

    The Luang Say Residence is an absolutely stunning hotel and a perfect place to stay while exploring Luang Prabang, Laos. We had such a memorable experience, thanks to the impeccable service, warm atmosphere, and beautifully maintained grounds. The property itself is gorgeous: a peaceful oasis with lush gardens, a sparkling pool, and a serene atmosphere that invites you to unwind. Breakfast is served at the scenic on-site restaurant with views over the gardens. We highly recommend trying the traditional Lao soup: the local chili oil was a delicious touch! Our room was spacious, elegant, and extremely comfortable. The four-poster bed, cozy sitting area, and luxurious full bathroom made us feel completely spoiled. The turndown service and soft robes were just the cherry on top. Every detail was taken care of, from the helpful shuttle service into town to the availability of tuk-tuks, laundry services, and anything else we needed. What truly makes the Luang Say Residence special is its people: warm, attentive, and full of heart. We’re so grateful for our stay and would absolutely love to return someday!

    Large spacious hotel in central location. The night market is a step away from the hotel but you would never guess as the hotel retains a private and quiet air. There is a central courtyard which contains the pool area, flanked by reception and the restaurant on two sides and the rooms on the other two sides. Breakfast is varied and starts early which is convenient if you have an early tour. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Please use their sunset tour service. It was perfect and worth every cent. I would recommend you have a good camera on hand to take some fantastic sunset scenes.

    The beautiful rooms were unique and very well appointed. We enjoyed the giant breakfast very much and the free bikes which we used every day. They were nice enough to move our rooms close together as well. The rooms were really large and the balcony with lounge area and fan was welcome.

    I was working remotely while in Luang Prabang so six days was good as my time to explore was limited. If I had unlimited free time, I’d say that 3-4 days would be sufficient. Luang Prabang feels unspoiled and charming, very laid-back. The night market sells touristy goods but it was fun and there is no hard sell taking place. There is a great choice of restaurants to cater for all tastes.

    We visiting the KuangSi Waterfall and had more fun than expected. Climbed to the top, did the ziplines, enjoyed some drinks at the treehouse to cool off and then swam in the chilly waterfall pools for a really refreshing dip. Loved the drive through the countryside and ate lunch at the Bamboo Farm. Bamboo tea was delicious. Stopped by the Buffalo Dairy for some cheese and ice cream, but not sure if I would do that part again, since it was nothing unusual. Visited the Hmong Village and really enjoyed that interaction. Definitely make that stop to get an up close, personal look at the Hmong life. Next time, we will visit the Ou Caves and take the train to other cities, as well. Plan enough time to see Laos!
