We were quite concerned on the way there because the trip was through some interesting but desolate terrain. What a great surprise. The property is beautiful and the staff and service were superb. The food was good too.

I had a truly wonderful experience at this hotel. From the moment I arrived, the staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always ready to help with anything I needed. A beautiful oasis. Very clean and new-feeling location, felt private and quiet. The bedroom was extremely clean, the bed was big and very comfortable, bedding was great, the air conditioning was excellent, shower was great. Walking distance from Kalkudah beach (not for swimming), very quick tuktuk to Pasikuda beach. Excellent food and juices, excellent staff. Best pool in Sri Lanka, swimming under the stars was magical. Many fruits, vegetables, and spices grown on the property. Amazing, caring staff.

We absolutely loved our stay at this property. The place is stunning, with beautiful artwork displayed throughout. We stayed in a villa with an ocean view — it was not only beautiful but also incredibly comfortable. I especially enjoyed the selection of tea provided in the room. The swimming pool area was fantastic. Even though the hotel was fully booked, it never felt crowded and remained peaceful and relaxing. The cherry on top was the exceptional staff. From the attentive hotel manager to our wonderful butler, Malshan, who went above and beyond to ensure we had a perfect stay, everyone was warm, helpful, and dedicated to making our experience memorable. The hotel itself is excellent, but it’s the attention to small details that truly sets it apart. Last but not least, the spa was amazing. I had a fantastic massage with Priyanka — she was kind, and her hands worked magic.

The resort is an oasis of calm. It gave my wife and I the space to relax and enjoy each other. The staff especially Arshed the general manager and Farhan went way above and beyond to make our stay so special. They arranged snorkeling and an elephant safari, we also have some dietary requirements that they catered to without missing a beat. Truly a wonderful experience.

Apart from the beach there is nothing much in walking...

Apart from the beach there is nothing much in walking distance though we did go for dinner at Bayceylons which was very close and good. Hotel excursions expensive but there’s a local company that do fishing and snorkelling trips at a good price.

Batticaloa is very good city, peaceful, less traffic, sort of more rural touch as compared to Colombo. People are also very cooperative and helpful in all ways. Its a small town. The beach is also very neat and clean. There are many local restaurants and hotel. We can find good food there.

Kalkudah is one of the best beaches in Sri Lanka!

Kalkudah is one of the best beaches in Sri Lanka! The water here has an amazing emerald colour and it is very clean, transparent. It is a very long and beautiful sandy beach with a free natural spirit, with hardly anyone around. We enjoyed swimming almost all the day! No tourist attractions but some restaurants like Laya Waves are and Swiss Cafe on the shore are the options. Kalkudah works fine for yoga, meditation, walking along, etc. There are some cows and their manure in some spots, but it is better than plastic garbage. Some days the waves were bigger than Passikuda, but no corals on Kalkudah. Comparing to Passikuda we liked Kalkudah much better. Passikuda is over crowded with a long chain of luxury hotels and is not as beautiful. Anyway if anyone is coming with children Passikuda has shallow waters, as well as some tourists attractions. In any case, on Kalkudah one can dig a hole in the sand for children, where the ocean water will come, while making the natural baths that way.

Rooms were clean and spacious Beach is awesome. The views are spectacular. The staff was friendly and efficient and went the extra mile to make the guests comfortable Will return again soon. These hopper staff who stood out are Lojanan and Suthagaran in house keeping. Reynold Sangeethan and Gajandran in Valet service and Lojan in the Restaurant.

Batticaloa was warm and humid, but that is more than made up for by its breathtaking beauty and abundant seafood. The town is exceptionally clean, surrounded by water, and radiates a serene charm. Pasikudah, in particular, took our breath away. With its pristine beaches and tranquil waters, it’s nothing short of amazing—a true gem on the eastern coast.
