Calm location for listening the welcome rain in the middle of a hot summer. Being in the middle of forest even the forecasted winds mostly skipped the tranquil yard. Good breakfast, although it would be more ecological to ask about dietary restrictions before offering sausages. Well, the owner appeared to have some pets, although didn't spot them outside in the rainy weather, so guess the parts not eaten found some other use.
Would also recommend the location for family events (if properly arranged with the owner well in advance). Building itself was actually best example of properly done masonry I have seen in Latvia, thanks for restoring my belief in properly built buildings still existing :-)

Offering free Wi-Fi, this hotel is quietly located in the center of Valga. Built in 1912, it is decorated with antique furniture, and the unique restaurant is furnished with a hunting theme.

We loved staying in this hotel, which is set in a park and has a very nice municipal park across the road. The room was very comfortable and quiet, parking was super easy. The hotel restaurant had a good choice of meals at lunch and dinner. Best of all we enjoyed our host who handled everything with plenty of dry humour from check-in to restaurant ordering and was there from morning to late evening - we weren't sure if she ever took a break! Valga is really just a rest stop rather than a destination but staying at the hotel is worth the visit.

Very clean, comfortable apartment. The location was near the railroad which I wanted since I had a late train arrival and didn't want to walk far. Excellent place for a one night stay.

Pleasant, but apart from the fact that it's one town in two countries, there is not that much to see / do. Cool to step over border and take a look at Estonian supermarket with slightly different goods, have some Estonian icecream. Liked town square on the Estonian side, a couple of monuments. Several spots for lunch / dinner, some even a bit fancy. I took a quick look during one afternoon, and the next morning took a bus to the nearby Strenci for a lovely forest walk along Gauja river.
