Everything was great here, hospitality, the views, noise level, quiet neighborhood, close to important stuff. You just walk down the path by the gate to the beach, and then catch a boat-taxi to the other side (should cost 50 dirham there and back). There are also little restaurants on the beach with fresh fish and shrimp, but note that sometimes it is very windy and can get sandy. In April, the water was a tad cold so we didn't swim, but lots of local tourists did swim. El Manzar is similar to the luxury hotels in the area in terms of views, etc, but the price is much more reasonable. The breakfast was super good. Noura and Amal are the sweetest people and we really enjoyed getting to know them. They are both cat lovers and seem to care for the animals that are around. We made a small donation for animal care. Next to El Manzar is a big villa-rental with peacocks. It's funny to hear them screaming (doesn't bother us in terms of sleeping, i think they sleep at night too, just funny during the day). And of course, the stork mosque is in view as well. A bird lovers paradise. I recommend checking out the roof terrace. Also, if you don't book the ocean front view (we didn't), you'll probably be a bit jealous. There is the big living room downstairs though, so you still get a nice view to relax in. It was a bit foggy a few days, which blocked the beach view but was actually super cool to see as well.

The hotel is right on the beach and has magnificent views from the terrace. The highlight is the gardens which are absolutely beautiful and lovingly cared for by the gardener. There is also a super clean pool where you can relax in lounge chairs around it. The rooms are clean and cute with comfortable beds and modern bathroom fixtures. You can take a sightseeing boat trip right from the hotel or walk into town/around the point. We enjoyed relaxing here!

It was an oversized hotel room with comfortable beds, nice view of the ocean with a balcony, well situated on the outskirts of town with parking right outside. An elevator was available, and the staff was very helpful for the problems we did have.

You need to be aware that the cistern is currently close (...

You need to be aware that the cistern is currently close (Nov. 2025). It doesn't seem it's going to be reopen anytime soon. El Jadida is still a nice place to explore - you can nicely combine it with a trip to Azemmour which is a small town very near - access with a shared taxi, 20 minute ride. The combo makes a very nice weekend in less touristy places.

Feels a bit like undiscovered St Tropez.

Feels a bit like undiscovered St Tropez. Beautiful, striking views, nature, bird watching. Unfortunately, the way they cooked fish at most places was not up to par for us. That's pretty much our only complaint though. And the water in April was just a tad cold for swimming. Others were swimming though.

The place we stayed had flooding issues.

The place we stayed had flooding issues. Although we had Moroccan speaking interactions, there was zero attempts to resolve the issue. The pool was unusable, there was NO hot tub as advertised, the tv did not work. It was unacceptable.

Contrary to other reviews, we loved the laid back and friendly vibe in El Jadida. The streets and roadside gardens were clean and neat. The Portuguese walls and village within were fabulous. Lastly, there were lots of very reasonable little restaurants.

The portuguese fortification on the seashore was spectacular.There is a wonderful beach nearby. Far less foreign tourists than other places. There were some places where garbage disposal was inadequate. It felt very safe everywhere.Busses were very crowded so we used inexpensive taxis.
