Hotel La Sultana welcomes you in a well-preserved natural setting and modern and elegant accommodations. The scenery was very beautiful and unique as it’s location was a tidal lagoon. The ambience of the hotel was peaceful and the hospitality of the staff exceptional. We had the best seafood lunches and dinners ..locally caught seafood, oysters, langouste, blue lobster, razor clams in abundance and cooked to perfection or raw.

Oualidia is a small town. Perfect to get away from the busy life in the big city. Both the lagoon as the beach are beautiful spots. On the beach you can eat delicious seafood. Yes, you read it correctly: on the beach! The lagoon is also a perfect spot to surf, SUP or try kitesurfing. If you are here on a Saturday, definitly have a look at the market. This market is big and you can buy fruits, veggies, clothes, furniture and so much more! I had an amazing time in Oualidia and I wished I stayed longer (even I stayed there 5 nights).
Oualidia is beautiful, very quiet and very relaxing around the lagoon. The beach had facilities to hire chairs and parasols should you require them. The only regret we had is that we didn't spend enough time in Oualidia, we spent one night, but then again, we will have to visit again for a little longer next time.
If you are the turist from europe, nothing to do in Oualidia as local people and turists looking at you non stop. You can't take a normal swim in laguna as full of local people and you have to search wild bitch where is next to ocean only possible, so no point to go there.
Oualidia is a lovely quiet seaside town. It is down to earth and in many ways still developing. It has a relaxed vibe with few 'husslers' compared to Marrakech, eg. Hotel L'Initiale is one place to get wine with really good food! Most other places are dry..! (And there is literally nowhere to buy alcohol in the town - apparently a supermarket is opening summer 2019) The lagoon is really beautiful and quiet compared to the amazing open coast line with huge waves pounding against a beautiful rugged rocky coast. Well worth a short visit, or longer if you want to explore Safi and other day trips. Oualidia is completely walkable, though a little hilly.
Make sure you go down to the beach in the morning before the tide comes in. When the tide comes the sandbank in the middle of the lagoon will disappear. There are boats that will offer to take you around in the lagoon. The beach to the south of town is most beautiful in the afternoon. You can do a nice loop walk, if you start from the campsite, cross the bridge over to the wetlands, ehere you can also see some birds, then head towards the southern beach, and follow it right north to the headland. When the tide comes in, the waves are crushing into the rocky shore here, spitting water high up in the air.
We liked most the kindliness of the locals, the food and the calm places at the beach. Very nice place to stay for relaxation. Oualidia is alao recommandable in December. The temperature is comfortable and the beach is empty. We highly recommend Mustapha's place to eat. His place is located close to the naval base/house at the beach. Mustapha is a fisherman an serves fish-tajines and tea.
Such a wonderful place! We enjoyed it so much. And our son did too, an amazing place to go as family. And the hosts are fantastic and so nice. We will come back, for sure. A real dream!
