- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.6Excellent - What previous guests thought, 803 reviewsWe stayed during our honeymoon, and it was the best decision we made. The location is great, a bit windy sometimes, but all the hotel installations are amazing and everything is so well taken care of. The personnel working there is also great. From housekeeping, to the cavendish team, the serenity pool bar team (loverish, ze paul and nathaniel ) which is where we went to every day of the stay, the activity center full of options (we did the amazing boxing class, yoga and took the bikes out for a ride), and of course the team in all restaurants. Everyone is very helpful, always with a smile and very good english. The hotel also has several restaurants. We loved them all. Specially the chateau and the golf links reserve, which were outside of the main installation (walking distance) but very very beautiful. Breakfast was also amazing. We did have the gourmet bliss, as all inclusive, and we made the most of the experience. Everynight the cavendish would have live music or something special, and when it didnt we would sit on the bar and contemplate how beautiful it is placed (cheers to the amazing team there aswell). Looking forward to go back some day. Thankyou to everyone.Guest review byAlejandraSpain
- From $37.58 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.8Good - What previous guests thought, 721 reviewsI recently had the pleasure of staying at a fantastic apartment that truly exceeded my expectations. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by how clean and well-maintained the space was. It was evident that great care had been taken to ensure everything was in top condition. All the amenities I could possibly need were provided, making my stay not only comfortable but also convenient. I particularly appreciated the thoughtful touches that made the apartment feel like a home away from home. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will definitely be returning in the future. I wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great accommodation experience—without any hesitation!Guest review byYogandraCanada
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 7.7Good - What previous guests thought, 153 reviewsEverything. The location was great and although we had a lot of rain, the view was beautiful and there are so many birds around. The lodge itself is decorated nicely and the bed is comfy. The utensils and cooking facilities are ample. The breakfast is simple but enough (per person: 2 eggs, 3 slices of bread, jam, butter, cornflakes, yogurt, milk and fruit juice). Thank you, I highly recommend it.Guest review bySamanthaUnited Kingdom
- From $217.76 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.5Good - What previous guests thought, 780 reviewsVery pleasant stay. we reached early during the day and they checked us in quickly without any trouble. We took an beachfront view room and it was very spacious and had a jacuzzi. The balcony was decent with very good view of the beach. What surprised us was they offered us with complementary wine and some sushi which was perfect.Guest review bySooryaUnited Arab Emirates

The town offers a more authentically local atmosphere than beach resorts, although admittedly there is no beach on this part of the Mauritian coast, so the area attracts a different kind of traveller. It is a rather run-down place but has considerable charm. The waterfront is a lovely (if windy) area to stroll around and the town has some interesting historical attractions - also a few kilometres away, in Vieux Grand Port, the site of the first landing on the island (by the Dutch, in 1598). One matter to be aware of concerns going out for dinner in the town. There are plenty of restaurants in the central area, many of them very welcoming and with very good food, however: - the streets are very poorly lit after dark, resulting in considerable stretches where a torch/phone light is useful; - most streets have no pavements, or very uneven/poor quality pavements where they do exist, so you have to walk in the road - watch your step and beware traffic that rushes past, often very suddenly (however, the local drivers are good at swerving to avoid pedestrians)! - unnervingly, there are large numbers of dogs roaming around on the streets - this seems to be the case all over Mauritius, even in the capital, albeit to a lesser extent. By day they are very placid and tend to shy away from people, but after dark they are often uncomfortably territorial and can be aggressive.Guest review byDavidUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Nothing was lacking
Nothing was lacking The 2nd floor villa with a balcony view to the garden and sea was private with a superb vista it had a very well stocked kitchen with excellent cooking facilities. Every attention to detail had been given with pottery and art it was aesthetically pleasing. provisions were easy to get and at short distance to obtain. what wasn’t evident from its description was its peace and privacy which for us gave the restorative and restful holiday we required.Guest review byAnnaUnited Kingdom - 10.0

We stayed for a day at the Shandri Beachcomber (bought a day pass) and the snorkeling from their beach was fantastic . Absolute amazing location but I wouldn't stay overnight there. Way too exensive for a dated resort and we weren't impressed by the quality of food and drink (it is an all inclusive resort) but you can't beat the location.Guest review byMariaAustralia - 10.0

Excellent location in an area that boasts greenery and nature at its best. Tamassa Bel Ombre is located next to two golf courses, a natural reserve and barely minutes away from other landmarks in Mauritius (south). Roads are safe - so it's easy to drive around but if you are after a complete relaxing holiday, venturing out of Tamassa is purely an extra then. The resort is fully equipped and offers a great opportunity for swimming, snorkeling, para-kiting in a well protected and clean bay.Guest review bySaidMalta - 8.0
Mahébourg has a beautiful waterfront.
Mahébourg has a beautiful waterfront. I prefer the modern part of the city versus the downtown area which has narrower streets. Historical Mahébourg Museum is worth visiting. Don’t forget the delicious Biscuits Manioc!Guest review byFrancoiseUnited States - 10.0

I came in with some reservation due to the wind that was considered to be a problem by other visitors. Some others were ranking the West coast over the East Coast (we were on the East Coast) but after visiting the entire island, we were very happy about our choice.Guest review byAlbrUnited States - 10.0

No ATM to draw cash.. most shops only deal with cash. Blue bay has a bus stop that takes 15 minutes to get to Mahebourg from where you can take a bus to any part off the Island. I stayed here with my 3 kids, the kids club looked great although we didn't use it. We stayed for 3 nights and that was enough for us to break the city routine of our everyday life. Krishna from the concierge organised a fun day out to Chamarelle where we saw the 7 sand earth, giant turtles and the magnificent waterfall. We ended the day at Curious Corner which the kids (and I loved).Guest review byMonaUnited Arab Emirates
