- From $75.29 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.0Very Good - What previous guests thought, 5 reviewsI loved how they communicated the ease of traveling to Addu City. Before this trip, I never realized how accessible it was, as Male is so heavily promoted as the main gateway to the Maldives. Traveling from Almaty to Addu via Colombo to Gan International Airport was seamless. They were very clear about the three weekly flights from Sri Lanka to Gan, helping us plan our trip for the best value and duration. Honestly, the trip felt too short because the welcome to the island was so warm. They even gave us a quick introduction to the island, making us appreciate just how authentic this city is. Be warned—this review is full of realizations! Addu City is like a hidden gem, not heavily touched by mass tourism. Not many tourists roaming around the island, but we've seen tourists who are staying in the resorts in the city visiting on local tour every day in the noon. Before Sri Lankan Airlines started direct flights to Gan, and with the previously high cost of flights from Male to Gan, Addu wasn’t really on the tourist map. But now, they’re truly focusing on tourism with many guesthouses opening up. We researched and discovered that Meedhoo offers a relaxed tropical beach vibe, while the other connected islands, including the capital Hithadhoo, have more of a city feel with shopping and fine dining options. EVERYONE WHO LOVES TO EXPLORE A NEW MALDIVES HOLIDAY WITHOUT TOO MANY TOURISTS ROAMING AROUND THE ISLAND SHOULD COME HERE. THAT'S A FACT!! Meedhoo feels like another local tourist island, and we stayed at Charming Lodge. It was a fantastic choice! They offered free bikes, snorkeling equipment, and other activities arranged directly through them. The rooms were very luxurious yet affordable, with tropical touches like wooden interiors, clean and white bathrooms, and cozy seating areas. And a centered playground, They had a great balance of comfort and style, perfect for a peaceful getaway.Guest review byAlbinaMaldives
- From $172.46 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Excellent - What previous guests thought, 276 reviewsAfter reading some of the reviews, we were a bit worried, but for no reason. We had a wonderful stay and the resort is value for money (about 1800 Euros, Sunrise villa for teo, 9 nights, all inclusive). Villas are lovely, spacious and comfortable (we were upgraded for free to a Sunset villa because the sunrise side was flooded - thank you, we loved going for an afternoon dip in the sea directly from the room!). Staff was amazing, so hospitable and friendly). Special thanks to Mohamed Shiruhaan, our waiter at the restaurant, Mausoom from housekeeping, Dama and Deepthi at Dhoni as well as the amazing staff at the reception who assisted us with the internet for a professional meeting when the wifi was down. Hotel grounds are beautiful and allow one to feel immersed in nature while walking or cycling (free bicycle throughout stay). To move around, one can also call for one of the electric buggies that arrive very quickly (or hail one down from the ones driving up and down). The resort island is narrow, but quite long. It is connected to the local Island via a bridge, you can cycle there with the bike after signing a liability form at reception) if you want a more authentic experience. Food at buffet restaurant: wide choice, also for vegetarians and vegans. Some variety over the week but there's so much to choose from that you don't get bored and are happy to find same dish the day after again (the Indian corner had delicious curries; the soups were yummy). Choice of alcoholic beverages including around 6 cocktails at the three cafe-bars (wine and beer at restaurant). Without all-inclusive plan, eating/drinking are at N. European prices- cocktails around 9, spaghetti and club sandwich 9, mains 25-35 Us dollar at beach bar), closes 18:00). Saw only one creepy crawly; some cute salamanders and lizards.Guest review byEvangelosGreece

A residential area, interesting, with ordinary people, not an artificial spot for tourists. Some highlights: Addu Dive, a wonderful dive centre with their boat leaving from the local harbor, with the centre itself on neighboring island, over the bridge. Palm Village Restaurant with a variety of local and other meals. The inner atoll shore may look unsuspicious until having a look under the water - with a multitude of coral, fish, and at times turtles. Ideal for snorkeling.Guest review byTomasCzech Republic - 10.0

The staff were very kind, hospitable and helpful.
The staff were very kind, hospitable and helpful. The hotel has an extensive and varied menu of food and drink. The food is delicious. The rooms are well equipped and comfortable with verandahs overlooking the beach and sea. The views of the sea and islands in the distance were beautiful. The lagoon provides excellent swimming and bathing. The return flight was in the evening and the hotel allowed us a late check out at no extra cost which was greatly appreciated. The arrival flight to the hotel was changed to 4 hours later and we were not informed until we arrived at the airport. The hotel needs to work with a more reliable airline. The fans in the restaurant and bar are too few in number and too high up to have any effect. There need to be many more fans lower down from the ceilings to cool the restaurant and bar. The internet also needs to be stronger.Guest review byHarshaSri Lanka - 10.0

Space, cleanliness of the island, ideal for photos, ideal for snorkeling sorties by boat to see breath-taking, pristine coral gardens of great diversity unseen in North atolls. No nearby house reef, but you don't miss that.Guest review byAbdelazizSwitzerland
