The area was very quiet and all the local people were very friendly and welcoming. All those I met spoke very good English. Norway is a very beautiful unspoilt country with some stunning scenery. I would enjoy spending more time there. Public transport is excellent with booking / payment made quick and easy via the use of an app (and very cheap compared to the UK!). I should imagine that during high season, it would be fairly crowded (I was there in early October) when it was very quiet but the weather was still pleasant and sunny. Overall, I would recommend this as a very pleasant location to spend a few days.Guest review byJulieUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Rjukan as a town has a fascinating history.
Rjukan as a town has a fascinating history. However the reason we come is to ice climb. Obviously, this is a niche attraction and Ice climbers will know why Rjukan. However, the history and beauty plus accessibility of venues is world class for this activity. Beyond the climbing, Rjukan is an interesting town with all the main amenities one could need as a base for exploring the amazing countryside in which it sits.Guest review byAndrewUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Loved the washer/dryer, full sized refrigerator/freezer and the under highway walkway. Close to grocery stores, many restaurants, a museum, art gallery and library with a permanent display and coffee bar. Free parking on site!Guest review byJeffUnited States - 8.0

Vinje county is wild and beautiful and has many historical buildings. We like to ski around Rauland and Holtardalen areas and they are connected. Take a short drive, we could also ski at Vierli and Raulandsfjell Alpinsenter AS area. It is by far the best place to ski in the western part of Norway.Guest review byJaime Loh B. H.Norway - 10.0
A beautiful place to visit and have a look around.
A beautiful place to visit and have a look around. A few nice places you could eat, I tried the little restaurant next to where I stayed at Hytteby. The town is easy to get around as there is mostly one street that goes all the way through. The fact that Norways oldest cablecart (krossbannen) was there was really nice and I did take a trip up and the view was amazing.Guest review byKarenNorway - 10.0

We came from Sweden for a extended weekend and wanted to get 2 full days of skiing, which we did! The ski slopes are a good mix of easy and gentle to a little more challenging, yet all fun and well maintained. All the operating staff were very helpful and pleasant. The resort is small in terms of amenities (only a few restaurants and bars - but all of good standard!) but more than enough for a cosy stay! It has a very relaxed atmosphere and very picturesque location. A lot of cross- country facilities and possibilities to explore the winter outdoors. Highly recommend for a families and individuals alike who come for the outdoors! The only downside is depending on where you are staying you may need a car to get around. There are few walkways unless you are on skies so for those that don't ski you have to stay close to the lodge or have a cosy cabin where you plan to spend a lot of time.Guest review bySandraFrance - 8.0

Great place for a long weekend, sadly this time the snow conditions were a bit poor, with very little snow and very windy. They should consider increasing the number of "elbil" charging stations across the location, given the increase of the "elbil" car park in Norway.Guest review byAlessandroNorway
