It's easier to get a taxi or the bus in to Queenstown no parking very busy place but lots to offer friendly atmosphere recommend The board walk at the warf happy hour 3-5 coctails $12 each and beer and wine as well then hope on depending on season either the Ernslaw or the spirit of Queenstown go to Walter peak buffet lunch or dinner Devine experience for sure go hungry. And farm demonstration as well very worth the money .Guest review byCorina - 10.0
Wanaka is a great little town.
Wanaka is a great little town. Primarily a stepping stone to the ski resorts. However we did not go the the resorts. We did do a day trip to Blue Pools and the nearby waterfalls (Thunder falls). the drive was scenic and the pools were well worth having a look at. Thunderfalls is certainly a photo spot as well. We circled back to wanaka and had a look at the Wanaka tree. Its a great picture just prior to sunset as the branches of the tree have and orangy color to them.Guest review byStevoAustralia - 8.0

Love the experiences at Otago peninsula, blue penguins tour and St Claire beach. The city I didnt see much to be honest. And unfortunately I had a bad experience booking with Trip advisor/ Viator for the Castle and Gardens booking, I booked through the app and the company they sold has been closed for 2 years. So I waited 40 minutes just to then be told by the Isite staff that that company has t been operating for a long time, so very disappointed.. im waiting for the refund but the experience was ruined. I can take back that time and I couldn’t book another tour bc I already expended the money and Im not sure I will hace a refund, and I had little time algo bc I only had the morning free.Guest review byBelenAustralia - 8.0

Not much to do in Oamaru, will recommend visiting the quaint museums, Oamaru heritage museum (pay/donate as you wish) and steampunk museum (NZD$15/pax). both were interactive and we enjoyed it with the helpful stuff. the day was a cloudy and rainy so we opted out of visiting the penguins - they have a live youtube stream of the penguins coming home which we watch. We did visit the penguins tour during the day, which was open to public and saw some fur seals relaxing. To watch the penguins coming home, it's NZD$45 per pax, which we thought was a little expensive. + the weather being bad, we decided to watch them online instead.Guest review byVerenaSingapore - 10.0
Cromwell is a great place to base yourself, perfectly...
Cromwell is a great place to base yourself, perfectly positioned in the heart of Central Otago between iconic hotspots like Queenstown and Wanaka. Just a short 45-minute drive from both, it's incredibly accessible, yet offers enough charm and character to stand proudly as a destination in its own right. Whether you're chasing adrenaline, exploring vineyards, or simply unwinding by Lake Dunstan, Cromwell caters to every pace. The town blends scenic beauty with a welcoming, laid-back vibe that makes visitors feel instantly at home. From world-class wineries to heritage precincts and local markets, it rewards those who linger with rich and memorable experiences. Don’t just pass through, spend time here. You’ll discover why many wish they'd stayed longer.Guest review byNeilNew Zealand - 10.0

There is a big clock on the hilltop.
There is a big clock on the hilltop. A big playground in the city centre. An information centre with a museum and a small gallery in the same building. We could walk along the river in the bush. Grocery shopping was easy as there are two major supermarkets, New World and Woolworths. Fast food was easy to find. Cafes offer good-tasting coffee. There is plenty of free parking in the town centre, from where we could walk almost anywhere around the town. Alexandra is a small town for a visit, where you want to unwind in a laid-back setting. It is also close to Cromwell and Roxburgh, where you can go for cherry picking in the summer.Guest review byZeyingNew Zealand - 8.0

Traveled south to support our basketball tem who played in Dunedin. Mosgiel was close enough for a short trip into town, yet far enough out to avoid any hussel & bussel of city life. Close to the airport for our departure. Lovely little town with all the services you could need. I'll be back to stay again.Guest review byPaulNew Zealand
