this is my second stay at this hotel and it was awesome. As I stated in my previous review, the shower and bathtub were amazing! Even though the hotel water pump was under maintenance, the water pressure was unbelievable. I have been to many hotels and this is the only hotel where I have been able to take a completely awesome, hot, hot shower. The shower nozzle had a massage function that was invigorating! I'll say it again, I would come back here just for the shower and water pressure. The buffet was good and had an excellent variety...the caveat is (just like most buffets in the Philippines), the food wasn't hot! I don't really understand this. In the US in a buffet the food is always hot. But the quality at the Holiday in is excellent, so I can't say too much. As per my last stay, the room was immaculate! Clean, clean, clean. The bathroom was shiny, shiny. I appreciate this as most 2-5 star hotels I've stay in have water faucets that are loose and have horrible water spots all over them, like they haven't been cleaned. In addition, the hotel staff were truly impeccable. Always cordial and smiling and eager to help. Thank you Holiday Inn for the service you provide. One more thing, Holiday Inn is just a short walk to Ayala mall, so no taxi is needed. I will be back!

Very nice property near the heart of Moalboal. We had our own scooter to get around but rentals and other transportation are available. The staff was great in every aspect. The property has a restaurant/bar with great drinks and breakfast. The pool is well maintained.

This hotel is newly built, featuring beautiful, bright, and impeccably clean rooms, all equipped to the highest of standards. A spacious, comfortable bed with a wonderful mattress and perfectly crisp, spotless linens — a place where sleeping felt unbelievably blissful, and where simply lying down to read, relax, or watch TV was an absolute delight. The Smart TV comes with built-in Netflix and YouTube, letting you enjoy any films or shows you like, as well as all the news programs that interest you. The room is equipped with a superb, modern air conditioner that operates so quietly you’ll never be disturbed by it, no matter the time of day. The bathroom features a wonderful, well-appointed shower with an excellent and stylish installation. But above all, I must mention the hotel’s staff — starting with its owner, a well-educated, gracious, and genuinely kind person, always ready to offer any assistance you may need throughout your stay in Caticlan. The entire hotel staff is exceptionally professional, highly trained, and speaks excellent English, always ready to assist you with absolutely anything at any moment. We were afraid of the food on offer having read bad critiques, but were impressed by the choice, variety and quality of what we were served. Shout out to Mark, who pampered us and served us exquisite cocktails He and the kitchen staff surprised us night after night. Hello kitchen, your fish dishes, to die for! Not only is there nothing to complain but hats off to them for the delicious experience we had. Cuisine is top notch. Water Sports Centre, you guys are awesome, thank you for the boat excursion, we had you and the boat all to ourselves and you went out of your way to make sure we had everything we wanted, saw everything and snorkeled everywhere and had such a memorable experience. Thank you too for sharing the coconut harvest with us and finding the paddle blade I lost.

The territory is amazing! I haven’t seen anything like this before! The saltwater lagoon that is open 24 hours is a great option! The staff is always there for you, so nice and friendly ! And the breakfast really surprised us) every day there are different kitchens of the world (Mexican, Chinese, Italian etc). You can always find fresh fruits and juices and homemade bakery) we faced some challenges with the bank card during check in, but the staff handled the situation great and even upgraded the room category due to the inconvenience. Thanks 😊

Google Maps is your friend.

Google Maps is your friend. During the holidays business schedules change. so some times a Museum might be closed. but lots are walking distance from each other. In my opinion if you are trying to hit everything quickly by taxi, your missing the point of this very old city. There are too many water ways, islands and traffic to be in a hurry. slow down, lots of things are free to look at. Carry small change with you always. it will help at all locations. Be polite buy a water if nothing else.

The place is very crowded and noisy. If you are looking for more peaceful locations, I would not recommend it. On the other hard, there is a great variety of restaurants, massage salons, activities on the beach. A good place for shopping with hundreds of stalls and shops. It's easy to buy nice ripe fruit like durian. If you're into seafood, I definitely recommend luch at Mandarin and Spa Hotel with seafood buffet option. Not to be missed.

Not the best in Philippines. Not very nice for swimming. If it wasn’t for the Loboc river and the activities near the chocolate hills I personally wouldn’t choose this island for the water activities and islands hopping.

Moalboal is a busy little spot - with so much to offer.

Moalboal is a busy little spot - with so much to offer. The sunset on White beach was very cool, and the early morning snorkel and sardine run was great fun - we even saw turtles. It’s a great base to explore the area and there are so many activities on offer you could easily stay 5 to 7 days. The cafes were good and the dining options very varied.

Mactan felt poor and overcrowded to us. It is true that we arrived after flooding and typhoons, but I am afraid that the trash is a constant problem here. People live along the sidewalks, sometimes even in cardboard boxes that are often placed literally on piles of garbage. Emaciated dogs roam around, and roosters are tied on short strings. Children beg for money. If you want to go on excursions, you have to travel quite far, yet there are constant traffic jams, so even short distances take an unreasonably long time. Choose other islands.

Siquijor has become very touristy.

Siquijor has become very touristy. For example, Paliton beach used to be this peaceful white sand beach where you can relax. Not anymore. I'm just glad that the vendors are not pushy to buy their stuff. I hope that the businesses will continue to make the island clean unlike El Nido.

this is a very nice city and very clean ...................

this is a very nice city and very clean ...................but before you get to the city you have to get past the SCAMMERS at the airport taxi system that refuse to use a taxi meter. we were told by a very rude dispatcher that all the roads were blocked and it was a 1.5 hour drive to the hotel and he could only get within 500 meters of the hotel , thus it would cost 700 peso ..........200 meters later the driver said he could get to the hotel if we paid 1000 peso the trip took 34 min and NO roads were blocked we then learnt that the normal fare is about 200 peso so we like iloilo but left the very next day due to being scammed as we did no longer feel safe there

If you're not going to swim with the Whale Sharks(for ethical reasons), then there really isn't much to do in Oslob except visit Tumalog Falls(which were great), Aquinid Falls(fun, but expessive), and cruise on a motorbike up the hill(Hagdan view & Zion's viewpoint). 2 days is enough.

It's handy for the airport.

It's handy for the airport. Staying in one of the hotels on the beach is probably the best option as access to the beaches is costly if you're staying elsewhere. The Samurai and Geisha restaurant on Mactan Boulevard was a good place to eat, and served good European food.

Stunning scenery and waterfalls especially. Felt perfectly safe walking around the town but was pestered by beggars constantly. And this hadn't happened anywhere else in Cebu during my 3 week stay.
