It was clean, everything was well organised and the staff knows what their doing. I had a pleasant stay at the hotel and would definitely come back! My boyfriend and I enjoyed our 1 week at the hotel and the breakfast was awesome. Sadly, we didn’t get to experience the pool due to busy schedules but soon we will come back for it.

One of the best accommodations we’ve been in the Philippines! Our cottage was clean & cozy, mattress really comfortable and the bathroom well equipped (even with a conditioner!). There is no AC, but the fan was fully sufficient and quiet. The excellent breakfast can be served either in the common area or in front of your cottage. We ordered pancakes and eggs and both of them were delicious. We will definitely come back!

STAFF: The service their staff provides is kind of insane. They seemed to have everything we asked for. Every staff would greet and smile. All of them were very accommodating, especially Andy and Harry, who we would run to when we needed something and they always helped us out. The staff is definitely one of the reasons I would stay here again. CHECK-IN/CHECK-OUT: The check-in process was a bit lengthy compared to hotels, but that's usually how it is for resorts. The check-out process was very fast though. The welcome drink was really good. ROOM: Every time we got back to our room, it's always newly cleaned and there were always snacks waiting for us! We always got excited seeing those :) I don't know who did it among our Housekeeping GEMs (Chona/Michie/Clinton/Kisses), but they have mastered the art of towel folding. They always left little notes which I thought was very sweet. The galaxy light was a nice touch too. My favourite part of the room was the plunge pool. SHUTTLE SERVICE: Getting from the airport to the resort was a breeze and it came with oatmeal cookies. We didn't have to do anything but follow where the staff tells us to go. They also have shuttle service between Stations 1 to 3 which was very convenient for us. FOOD/DRINK: The were plenty of breakfast choices at Sand's. The taho tatay shows up at 8am :) We also went for breakfast at Forno Osteria, which was more of a Western breakfast. Lunch and dinner options at Sand's were abundant. I especially loved the seafood they cooked on the spot upon ordering. LOCATION: The location is perfect! It is located at almost the end (I think) of Station 1 so it was a bit far from the beach activities (again, there's shuttle service) and away from the crowd. We mostly stayed at the resort so that didn't really matter to me. The beach is just right in front so it's perfect! OTHERS: We booked our activities with the hotel.

I had an excellent stay at Rate Bayfront Hotel Cebu North Reclamation! The staff was extremely professional and attentive throughout my stay, always willing to help with anything I needed. Although I think the breakfast could be a bit better, everything else about this hotel was great. The rooms are super clean and well-maintained, and the food served in the restaurant is delicious. Google Maps is your friend.

Google Maps is your friend. During the holidays business schedules change. so some times a Museum might be closed. but lots are walking distance from each other. In my opinion if you are trying to hit everything quickly by taxi, your missing the point of this very old city. There are too many water ways, islands and traffic to be in a hurry. slow down, lots of things are free to look at. Carry small change with you always. it will help at all locations. Be polite buy a water if nothing else.

Easy to travel island, with a very well organised transport system from the airport to the island itself. Great snorkel and diving opportunities, lots of fish, around the island. A broad range of land and water sports available, make sure you book a boat tour around the island and do some cliff jumping on one of the spots. Broad range of restaurants and cafes in the main area of the island. Quiet beaches with local restaurants and super friendly locals everywhere.

Mactan felt poor and overcrowded to us. It is true that we arrived after flooding and typhoons, but I am afraid that the trash is a constant problem here. People live along the sidewalks, sometimes even in cardboard boxes that are often placed literally on piles of garbage. Emaciated dogs roam around, and roosters are tied on short strings. Children beg for money. If you want to go on excursions, you have to travel quite far, yet there are constant traffic jams, so even short distances take an unreasonably long time. Loved it all!

Loved it all! The whole island has a peaceful and calming vibe. There’s lots to do and see if you’re into the beach ie snorkeling and diving. Beautiful beaches and waterfalls. The roads are nice and wide with no traffic in most areas. It’s easy to hail a tuk tuk to get around or rent a scooter to explore. People are friendly. Food is variable and good. A very scenic place. We’d return in a heartbeat!

very accommodating city, nice people and it is a heart...

very accommodating city, nice people and it is a heart captivating for people that visiting it for the the first time. traveling is easy with much variety of options between public and private, and if you can handle driving, you can rent your own, which is all affordable. Places to visit here are a lot, free places which will blow your mind, just prepare your itinerary well as you need to manage your time to accommodate all places.

Main Attraction is the Whale Shark viewing, Nothing much to...

Main Attraction is the Whale Shark viewing, Nothing much to do basically you have to stay in our hotel for Relaxation. The main road or Highway is the main road so be careful walking on the side walks when big buses passing by. No Smoking to all facilities/hotels-Locals said it was recently passed as a new law - smoke free...

Dumaguete is like all the other centres, chaotic, polluted...

Dumaguete is like all the other centres, chaotic, polluted and without any sense of road rules . As with all of the Philippines there are annoying minor charges (take a motorcycle on a ferry and find out) and corruption . So far nothing unusual. Rizal boardwalk offers light entertainment. Oh, don’t expect much from the tourist office. They are not much help.information of an exact nature is very hard to come by. The town is passable.
