It is located in a part of Košice that is just a short car or bus ride away from the city center, yet far enough for one to enjoy the beautify and tranquility of Slovakia's great outdoors. The property itself is historic and staying here is a cultural experience in itself - the spa/wellness center on site is reflective of how important spa and sauna are to Central European/Slovak culture and this is reflected in the fact that entry to the wellness was included with my hotel stay. The restaurant on site also had an excellent variety of cuisine, including several traditional Slovak dishes, and had staff that was caring, attentive, and multilingual. I particularly liked that the restaurant on site was willing to accommodate a request for food to be prepared, billed, and delivered to my room through room service. Even though there was a fee for this service, the service was professional and of high quality and also enabled me to enjoy more time relaxing in the wellness center while my food was being prepared. I was just visiting for 3 days.
I was just visiting for 3 days. I could have stayed for longer, It is such a beautiful city!! People are very friendly, and it has lots of great spots not too far, A great surprise, and I would love to come. Unluckily I did not bring my camera and do not have a smart phone!! next time. I could go to see the big fountain during the day and night ( with lights!) and with all sort of music. One can get lots around the side streets and find the cutest cafes. I am just in love with this place I was impress by how clean, Hardly anything on the floor. A must seen gem place:) Unluckily I arrived a Sunday late afternoon, Mondays most of things are closed, and walk around the city with a friend, but hey! getting lost around streets, having some lovely food, some of my favorite things . Def. I would love to come back, A lovely shop to visit is Interesante, full of lovely handmade objects:). Hlavna 26. These clean and modern apartments are stunning. They are equipped with everything you need for a comfortable self catered stay. The host left lots of personal touches which were very much appreciated. We chose an upstairs apartment for the balcony and a better view. This was the case, however there is still a lot of building work being carried out opposite which kind of ruined it. The check-in was easy and explained well via a message. But unfortunately because this address isn’t registered on Google Maps yet, it’s a bit difficult to find. It is actually down an unmarked gravel lane. Easy once you know this, but the host didn’t mention this beforehand. The area its self is perfect for exploring the National park. We did one of our walks from the apartment it’s self. The apartment is going to be part of a holiday complex which will be very luxurious when finished. I think that it is reflected in the price currently charged (unfinished). Dedinky is a very nice and calm town at the foot of the hills of the Slovak paradise. The lake is great for swimming (though the water is cold) or for renting a boat and exploring the lake a little. Hrabusice is an excellent base for hiking at the Slovensky Raj or High Tatras. It is also close to many historical sites. We loved staying at Ubytovanie at Emka. I loved Spisska Nova Ves. The old part of the town is very pretty and it is a short train ride to Poprod and from there to the mountains, which are beautiful. I wish I'd been able to stay here longer. And I loved the art gallery. Not big but some really interesting exhibits. Spisska is easy to walk around and the restaurants are great and not expensive. Dedinky is on the south side of Slovak Paradise National Park. It has a "bite-sized" hike that takes about two hours (or three hours for an extended version). The hike includes metal ladders and metal platforms through the gorge. (Longer more adventurous hikes can be found to the north of the national park). I recommend watching the Singing Fountain, especially in the evening, when the coloured lights are on. We ate in the restaurant and pizzeria called Friends, from which there is a good view to the fountain, but there are a lot of restaurants and pizzerias in the main square or near to it. For ice cream, try Arthur Gelato. Pizzeria Zvon is also a good choice. There are a lot of interesting museums, and galleries, many of them on the Main Square and Main Street.
