Biloxi, Mississippi is my go to Vacation spot. It’s just perfect, in my opinion. When I want to get away for the weekend, Biloxi is where I go. Their souvenir shops are nice and sells items you’ll need for the beach too. The beach is clean and doesn’t have alcohol containers or such everywhere. I would suggest that whoever is planning on visiting Biloxi during Spring, to make sure you don’t go during Black Beach weekend. (Unless you’re going specifically for that). You’ll have to check online the date for that weekend specifically. I don’t suggest going during that weekend mainly because it’s not kid friendly and it’s a huge disturbance if you’re wanting to go relax on the beach. If you’re into partying, etc. then you will probably enjoy it. I also don’t suggest it because everything will be packed like roads and restaurants. One of my reasons why Biloxi is my favorite, go-to beach is it’s a calm and collected city without being too dead. I enjoy being able to go the beach and relax without huge crowds. If I’m not mistaken, I do believe Biloxi has an arcade for younger ones too. I recently just visited Biloxi and we tried a new hotel, which was Motel 6. It was located across the beach and we had a beach view from our room. We could literally walk to the beach within 5 or so minutes, which was my favorite thing about the hotel. It’s also close to the mall, colosseum, and IHOP. In my opinion, they were within walking distance. Biloxi, Mississippi is overall a great vacation spot.
The downtown atmosphere and food is fun. We ate at Monsour's which offers good food and great service. I truly wish that Vicksburg could find more income sources to take advantage of the Mississippi River history and views to provide more jobs and decent housing. Our purpose for this trip was to visit the new Museum of Mississippi History and the new Civil Rights Museum in Jackson. I'm glad I visited Vicksburg first, spending the night, then to Jackson. To see Vicksburg now compared to what it once was is almost depressing. I know that Cotton was King and the city thrived on slavery. And it was a beautiful city. It looks dormant now. But surely there are smart leaders and business folk that can come together and find ways to attract 3 major industries to settle in Vicksburg. Ken Tupelo
Jackson Mississippi, where do I begin? Segregation and racism is alive and well. I cried every day that I was subjected to the deplorable conditions, and I pray for the people who have to live there. I’d say about 60% of the cities buildings are abandoned- the art district is non existent. Upon arriving to downtown Jackson we were immediately met with a wall covered in human feces. Yes, that’s right, you read that correctly; a wall covered in human feces. This city made me hurt so deeply on an emotional level, I would gladly avoid the entire state after having experienced Jackson. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS.
Fondren and The District area are good for food and to just walk around. Madison are is a nice area to drive through. Very pleasing to the eye. Mississippi College campus is beautiful. Old Town Clinton is a nice area to visit if you’re wanting to spend a couple of hours in a more relaxed part of town. The Pearl Outlet mall and the flowood outlets are both good outdoor malls (on sunny days).
Ridgeland is a gem in Mississippi. The beauty here is almost unparalleled. It’s SO nice to sneak away to this city every few months (to visit a family member). Give Ridgeland a chance!!!
Baseball!! Attended an away baseball game at Pete Taylor Field verses Southern Mississippi. Had an awesome experience. Fans and everyone we encountered all week-end very accommodating and friendly. Go out to the "Roost", thats where its happening! I would probably make this my adopted hometown, or move there in the future, If I were looking for a new hometown. Ate at Mugshots, and Sullys, both very good...cold beer and great food and good times. Looking forward to seeing some other landmarks and attractions in the future, or staying there on the way to the beach.
Natchez is a Friendly little town full of rich southern charm and History. Decorated with Antelbellum homes on the Mississippi River. walk on the river walk at sunset is a must.Excellent food.
What I like about Biloxi Mississippi is just beautiful and sadly to say each visit we go there we just can’t get a room at the treasure Bay hotel I guess one year in advance to get a stay at the treasure Bay hotel
I have been to many southern cities and towns and I’m very familiar with history but Natchez has a history of its own. Very interesting from a historical sense and quaint town on the Mississippi River. Loved watching the bardges sail up and down the river. Natchez is a must see.
Loved the Melrose,Rosalie Mansions. Also the Downtown Karla Brown Haunted Tour it's a must do learns you a lot of history to Natchez, The jail was most interesting. Beautiful sunset on the Mississippi river, and during the cemetery visit was a double rainbow. Also The Castle Restaurant at the Dunleith Mansion was excellent, great food and service. But touring the mansion, the guide just rushed us through.
We had a great experience! Hotel was perfect for a family trip. We had 2 queen rooms and the staff put us close to each other. The beach is right across the highway. The staff is so friendly and the rooms are so clean! Breakfast was good, biscuits and gravy, eggs, sausage, bacon, muffins, fruit, cereal, milk, coffee, Breakfast sandwiches and oatmeal with mixins. You won't find a better hotel across from the ocean with a beach on the whole Mississippi coast line. I searched!
The location is absolutely beautiful. The hotel is lovely and meals at the Oasis Grill were excellent. My kids enjoyed the Waterpark. Views of the gulf are beautiful. Everyone on the staff went above and beyond to make our stay great. I had never heard of Gulfport Mississippi before this trip, and we just found it as a convenient stop on a long road trip from NC to TX. After this stay, I would consider coming back for a week because it was just so lovely.
The bed was VERY comfortable. The room was very clean. The television and mini fridge worked as I expected. (That is not always the case!) The rooms floors were an imitation wood of quality and will be easy to keep clean, and I think a much wiser floor alternative in the humid weather of coastal Mississippi. The motel is doing a remodel and the hallways looked good. The eating area is unfinished but it looks like it will also look good soon.
We booked at the Best Western as our originally booked hotel called to inform us that they had no hot water. We were very happy with our accommodations at Best Western. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was very clean. We liked the gated security fence for our car. We wanted to be close the to Mississippi Civil Rights Museum and the museum was only a fifteen minute walk.
The room is very comfortable and close to the Mississippi Coast coliseum for the event we were going to. The complimentary breakfast available was really above and beyond what I expected; scrambled eggs, sausage, seasoned potatoes, grits, yogurt, fresh fruit, croissants and muffins, waffles, juice and coffee. You definitely don't need to go out for breakfast when you start here!
Natchez
From the front desk to all the staff at Days Inn by Wyndham Natchez Mississippi, the accommodations were awesome showers for hot, and the bed was very comfortable. We got a free supper and free breakfast and the coffee was good! All in all our visit was very pleasant and I would come back to this hotel! Thank you so much!
We loved everything about our stay!!! This was our first time in Mississippi and at the beaches here. The hostess Nicole was so sweet and even got us into our room early. The breakfast was the highlight of the trip. So glad to see a hotel with open bar breakfast serving hot delicious food. We will definitely be back!
Location was great; easy walk to lighthouse, visitors center and beach. Reservation included a breakfast of generous portion. Hotel was exceptionally clean. Covid-19 protocols and measures were being practiced and enforced. Room was spacious and had a nice view of the Mississippi Sound.
I thought it was going to be attached to a casino, but I never even saw the casino. There’s a shuttle to the casino. The hotel is right across the street from the visitor center, which is on the banks of the Mississippi River. The hotel is modern with beautiful decor. It was great!
Natchez
Our room was in a house in a recognized historic area on a bluff overlooking the Mississippi River. The view was outstanding ! Two wonderful sunsets. Excellent breakfast served in a local luxury hotel. Our waiter, Henry, was old school attentive, Food was great.
Hotel is across the street from the Mississippi River walking trails and in downtown area of Natchez. Room was large and comfortable. Breakfast was very good.
The location is wonderful! You can see the bridge over the Mississippi River. The lobby area is nice.
