Our room was clean, cozy, and very comfortable, with all the little details thoughtfully taken care of. The Wi-Fi was fast and reliable, which was a big plus. The hosts were incredibly kind and welcoming — they genuinely care about their guests and are always ready to help with advice or directions. The price was also a pleasant surprise. Highly recommend!

The renovation kept the historic charm of the property while adding modern touches that give it a cozy, boutique feel. The location is very central to Alabama Hills and Mt. Whitney, and it’s within walking distance of the beautiful Mary DeDecker Garden. The rooms were comfortable, and the coffee and continental breakfast in the charming dining area were a great way to start each morning.

This is a lovely renovated historic hotel. I stay here frequently and love the location. The rooms are beautifully decorated with little touches that give it a warm, homey feeling. The heater is set at a perfect temperature and works so well that it's not necessary to fiddle with it. Good quality appliances, with everything you need. The bed was very comfortable and provided a good night sleep.

The location is not a typical one. It is an hour drive from the main access road to the NP. That’s what is special about it. You get to sleep in as pristine environment as it gets. The restaurant is one of the best in US. The mountain burger is I believe the best American style burger I ever had. This place deserves a Michelin star.

Only thing is on booking.com, it says pet friendly but never mentions a fee for the pets. I always click pet options but found out later there’s an additional fee after I assumed one clicks pet it charges you. It’s $20 a day per pet.

We loved the unit. Wish we could have stayed longer.
We loved the unit. Wish we could have stayed longer. The airlines mess up our flight and luckily the next day was open so we were able to stay an extra night. My husband loved the firmness of the bed but I thought it a bit hard. The view was fantastic, the peace and quiet.. except for there bird that kept flying into the window. Maybe a few pieces of blue tape so they know it's a window, lol. The only other comment is that there was no propane in the gas grill. The next time we go or if we know someone going to the sequoia park.. this is where we will be staying. Thank you again for making this a great 20 yr anniversary.

The view of Mt.
The view of Mt. Whitney and the Eastern Sierras is world-class. Good place for eating, if you like local beer and burger places (which I do). The burrito I got from the taco wagon down the street that was the best I've ever eaten. The gift store (Lone Pine Rocks and Gifts) has a wonderful selection of books and geological samples. Also, the lady who works there was great to chat with. Go to Lone Pine and slow down, read up on the local history, and be sure to see the Western Movie Museum and drive up to Cerro Gordo (in your 4-wheel drive).

Not much to do in Lindsay, but it is close to the Sierra...
Not much to do in Lindsay, but it is close to the Sierra Nevada Mountains (Sequoia). We had a pretty good pizza at Tony's Pizza in Lindsay. My grandmother lived 50 years in Lindsay; my father was raised there, and I spent much time visiting in my youth. It was fun driving around and seeing my old haunts and seeing so much change since 50's, 60's, and 70's. The City Hall in Lindsay has been kept in pristine condition, a welcome reminder of this city in its heyday.

Tamara at the front desk was very nice and answered all my questions. She even came out to say Bye to us when we were leaving. We usually do tent camping at the kern this was our 1st time staying at a hotel and we made the right choice from the place to the staff everything was perfect. We will definitely return next year.

I love being in Porterville, going by Murry Park, Zalud Park...
I love being in Porterville, going by Murry Park, Zalud Park, the skatepark for the kids and Giovannies Pizzeria and Arcade, not to mention it has a good amount of shopping outlets for a fairly small town!! And even amid construction in streets, it is always easy to traverse around town!

Wonderful accommodation near Sequoia and Kings Canyon parks. Very comfortable and clean. It has absolutely everything you need for your stay, and there is a small supermarket nearby. very convenient for cooking and having meals.
It’s worth staying for a few days to explore both parks in greater detail.
We will definitely recommend this place to all our friends.

We enjoyed the Eastern California Museum in Independence. There is a one mile walk from there to the park.
Unfortunately there is not any restaurants in Independence. They are all permanently closed!

It was in a great location for us, the views were beautiful, the access was great - straight off the highway, the 'wigwam we stayed in was very comfortable, the people were very friendly and helpful. We had great food at the café, the pool was lovely (although we wish it opened a little earlier in the morning).
However we do have to mention the toilets. The ones we used were rough and ready but were mostly ok. However, of the 4, one was out of order and one was blocked and had no running water at the hand wash basin. We picked one that was clean and did work though .

Very well-equipped house with very friendly host in a very quiet but remote region.
Need to drive thru' very winding country roads but scenery along the way is great. Need to prepare food, as nearest grocery store and restaurant are at least one hour drive away.

Bed was very comfortable. Wi-fi and Smart-tv worked great. The road to get to the hotel is beautiful, although it is a bit dangerous -- it's like climbing the mountain with your car. It is also a bit far from the Sequoia National Park, so be aware.
Bathroom was clean and check-out was very easy to do.
