Wonderful room with a beautiful view of the lake and dam. The staff were very helpful during our stay, and the restaurant food was very good especially the variety of items on the buffet. Some people have commented that the large water slide was not operating but it was during our stay and so much fun! We would definitely stay there again.

Breakfast was great.

Breakfast was great. The favorite place that we visited was St Lucia beach. On our way back to the hotel we made a stop over at Sihle's Shisanyama where we had our supper. The place is great. It is easy to get around Hluhluwe hotel.

The scenery was good, room not bad, wonderful staff and great breakfast. Boat is a daylight robbery, it's just too expensive and the boat os stationery most of the time we didn't fully explore the dam. The treatment at spa was substandard.

It is THE place for scuba diving in South Africa!

It is THE place for scuba diving in South Africa! We can only recommend it ! Beaches are empty and one can snorkel on the house reef during low tide. Pity about the state of the reserve in general as it is not maintained and one often find no running water at the showers located at the beach.

Mkuze is the best place to stay if you want to visit the Mkuze Game Reserve. We saw plenty at the two hides - herds of wildebeest, impala and nyala and plenty of birds. It's about 60 km to the Memorial Gate entrance to the Imfolozi-Hluhluwe Game Reserve - we got up early and got there as the gates opened to spend the day in the reserve. It's also worth driving up Jozini and taking a boat out on the dam. The hotel has a great offering of tours with their own guides.

We booked for 6 nights but left after the first night.

We booked for 6 nights but left after the first night. I cannot recommend this place to anyone. The owners is misrepresenting the property. There was no ice machine. Aircon was not working. Shower is not draining the water away. Pool and entertainment area needs TLC. The unit was cockroach invested.

Gate opens too late & closes tooo early for summer season. We ate all meals at the Tembe Elephant Park lodge dining area for all meals. With a self-drive 4x4 - was great as not crowded at all.

Most rooms have old carpets.

Most rooms have old carpets. We had to request a unit change. The unit numbers are missing, and some are incomplete. One of our windows did not have a handle. The place has a great potential, maybe a new management company will improve it. Some things were not thought through or planned for, such as the back door numbers (which are non existant), the parking, is a joke. It has a great potential, it needs upgrades here and there and a bit of thoughtfulness.

There's plenty to do at ST Lucia, especially going to Cape Vidal and through the reserve, you get to see the BIG 4. We actually got to see the leopard which was so awesome. Beaches are clean and controlled. Safety is big here. You can walk at night and have the freedom of knowing that you are safe.
