St Lucia is one of our favorite holiday escapes. It has so many lovely places of accommodation, is close to a warm ocean current but most importantly, it is so close to nature and yet has all the conveniences of a big city.
A great base to go off and do safari trips. Seeing the 'townies' (the hippos which wander into the town) was amazing! The area is very safe to walk around and has plenty of shops and restaurants. The town shuts down at about 9pm, probably as most are up from 4 or 5am to go on a safari, therefore most people are having dinner by 6 or 7pm. Don't expect a nightlife here, more some lovely restaurants to have a good dinner at.
We visited the iSimangaliso Wetland park - Eastern Shores. We LOVED Mission Rock stop, but overall were disappointed that there weren't as many animals as expected. We did have a stunning Rhino sighting and a close up of buffalo, but no leopard and very few animals along the stretch. We also went on the boat cruise which we saw quite a few hippo but zero crocs, it was a little disappointing. Also you pay quite a bit per person and then at the end of the trip they still stick out the tips jar, which I thought was quite cheeky. I'm glad I visited St Lucia but not sure I would be back in a hurry!
St Lucia is a lovely town with easy access to the Isimalango Wetlands. Good restaurants. The Ski Boat Club is a great place to eat with good views over the estuary. At night you can see hippo walking round the streets looking for good grazing. Quite a sight. Worth doing the cruise on the lake.
It was the perfect place to relax and escape city life. Everything was easily accessible from our bed and breakfast, and the people at every restaurant were extremely jovial! We stayed in an absolutely beautiful resort with access to several beaches. And EVERYTHING was well priced, from a bottle of wine to the 100 minute massage I booked!
Small town with too much to offer! We did hippo and crocs tour, whale watching, cape Vidal and wetlands and nice beaches. Everyone can find there something to do. And yes, the hippos really walk through the town in the night! We saw them!

Value for money, this was the best option in St Lucia. The room was very tidy and clean. Up to date interior and a new bathroom with a great sense of a rustic charm and style. The linen is fresh and clean. Breakfast was included and was by far one of the most varied and enjoyable on our journey. Because they didn't not have a lot of rooms the experience is very personal and on felt special. They are very helpful as well to book excursions and recommend some great unforgettable expereinces.

We had a lovely 2 night stay at Livingston Lodge. The property is brand new (or renewed). Everything is as advertised on the pictures. There is a shared living room. There is good wifi / internet and satellite TV ( plenty of sport channels ;) ) Breakfast was full of choice. Very kind manager and helpful staff. Definitely a recommendation. St lucia is small, but has a nice vacation fibe. With a handful good restaurants and tour operators.

The host is super nice. Helped us a lot with things to do around the area, and even called people to find us a tour because we tried a few places and couldn't find an available one . We had to leave early in the morning, so they packed breakfast, which was really good. The place is very well located. We really enjoyed our stay, and highly recommend this place for anyone going to St. Lucia.

The location is beautiful with a nice public open area behind the property where we saw some duiker on a walk. The decor was lovely and our room was decorated like a beach. Sean & Adele were warm and friendly hosts. They even packed us a huge delicious breakfast/lunch when we had to leave before breakfast. It is reasonably near the beach and other things to do in St Lucia.

It was beautiful with many animals. The property was well cared for. It felt secluded but did not take long to get to St. Lucia. The house was a wood structure that fit in well with the landscape. The staff were wonderful.

Very nice concept: sleeping in a tent, while still having the luxury from a hotel. Tents are surrounded by trees, so it feels more like you are in nature, instead of in a town.

The property was nice and clean and easy to get to everything in town. It had all the facilities you would like to find in a self catering property.
