Absolutely everything. From the incredibly kind and accommodating staff who were ready to help and answer any questions with a smile on their face, to the room, which was spacious and very comfortable, to the incredible excursions planned in order to explore the islands, to the views of the sea with the baby sharks and tiny fish that swim peacefully around you, everything was more than anyone could ask for. It felt like much more than a hotel, it was more like an ongoing adventure and learning experience about the sea creatures, how they restore and help keep the coral reefs safe and so much more. We loved everything about it and didn’t want to leave.

Suhaila and her palace, what can I say?! A gem of a lady and lovely accommodation with strong AC and hot/powerful showers. You should definitely book to stay on the top floor - the downstairs rooms don’t have a great view but the upstairs is absolutely stunning! We spent many evenings sat on the terrace with a soft drink from the shop downstairs and soaking in the sunset. Suhaila gave us free use of snorkels the whole time, as well as beach towels. This was much appreciated since we were travelling light with only hand lugggage. The restaurant serves a good breakfast which kept us full most the day (payable extra - recommend the banana pancake) and Suhaila even has banana bread available for her guests to eat whenever you fancy. We easily booked a water taxi through her when we wanted to venture to a different beach. Top tip! Keke beach was our favourite - walk all the way down to the end but turn left when you get to the rocks at the corner and there’s a secluded beach just waiting. Never too busy. Snorkelling is good around there and also in the beaches just outside the property. Plenty of live coral still standing.

Perfect Location: The resort is right on Long Beach, one of the best beaches in Perhentian. Super convenient for beach access, sunsets, and water activities. Balcony Room View: Our room had a beautiful balcony with a direct view of the beach and ocean — waking up to that was definitely a highlight. Breakfast: While the breakfast spread was small, every item was fresh and well-prepared. Good quality over quantity. We actually looked forward to it every morning.

We ended up staying an additional night, so that should tell you how much we loved everything!🤩 Ombak was the perfect choice in a perfect location—and by perfect, I mean paradise. The room was comfortable and exactly as described. The entire staff at Ombak was friendly and welcoming, but I have to give a special shoutout to Farah. She is the embodiment of hospitality: always smiling, polite, kind, funny, friendly, easy to talk to, and incredibly professional. She’s the best ‘welcome to Perhentian’ you could ask for!😊
