Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The A/C was filthy, the breakfast wasn't worth the 10€ difference from the other hotels.
The staff was excellent, the beds were comfortable

Walking distance from Shkoder center. Loved that I could charge my electric car and park. Very friendly staff

The cleanliness of the room could be better, the toilet seat was found in the wardrobe 🤣 and the shower tray needed cleaning from the mould at the bottom. Bed sheets were clean and AC was very good. Breakfast could to better - it was very basic: pieces of tomatoes, slices of luncheon meat, pieces of sausages and cold fried pastry 😔.
Standard rooms which should not be 3-star rated. Maybe one or two stars would suffice. Staff at the reception area are definitely nice people and do their utmost to help clients. The cleanliness of the room could be better, the toilet seat was found in the wardrobe 🤣 and the shower tray needed cleaning from the mould at the bottom. Bed sheets were clean and AC was very good. The price of beer was different between staff members. Beware of street dogs when walking home late at night (this was separate to the accommodation).
It was a cheap and cheerful place to stay, that suited us perfectly fine for one night. The breakfast included was great, and we were happy to walk 15 mins to get downtown.

There is big parking lot. We did early check out and they gave us breakfast to go (sandwich, pastry, fruit, juice box, water and coffee). Wi-Fi connection is good.

The "old" part of the hotel is somewhat shabby .
Very friendly and helpful service. The big bonus was the possibility to leave our car on the hotel parking during our trip to the mountain.

On booking.com the Hotel mentioned that they have some bikes that you can rent, that wasn't the case. But, they gave us good advice for a bike shop close by. It's a pity that Hotel Bicaj doesn't offer diner (we thought so because on the website was mentioned "restaurant").
We really loved our stay at Hotel Bicaj in Shköder. It's a really nice place in a quiet area of Shköder. It doesn't feel like you are close to the city center, but you can reach that with a 10-minutes walk. People are very friendly and - if you want - they will help you with the reservations for your travel to Valbonë - Theth. We made the arrangements ourselves but the receptionist of Hotel Bicaj made it possible that we could be picked up in front of the Hotel instead of walking to Rozafa Hotel. You can take drinks for free, really nice! The breakfeast is divers and really good! The room exceeded our expectations, clean and big.

The area around the hotel is a bit run down... Our room wasn't in the main block but opposite it......and was in need of some T.L.C........as did the bathroom....!!
Easy walk to the centre.... The bed was very comfortable... Nice breakfast

The people who work here are VERY helpful. They booked our necessary transports, made us breakfast to go and we were able to leave our suitcases there for our 4 day trip to the albanian alps without an extra fee.

Breakfast is served in portions, every day the same food. AC was not working in our room (luckily it was not needed)

It was quite loud, location a bit outside the town. The staff proposed take away breakfast but then forgot to prepare it.

Everything was nice!
Great location to explore Shkoder, great value for money at this hotel. The staff was very nice and helped us with our trip to Theth and Valbona. Large breakfast, they also offered it to go

Basic facilities that require renovation, especially the bathroom (toilet seat was missing).
