Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaSmall room, and the bathroom had shower over toilet, everything gets wet. Probably our most expensive room we have had to pay so far. But no huge regrets. 1.4 km from centre
Like the restaurant attached to the chalet, it was fine for just 1 night. Beds comfortable. The restaurant serves a great meal good if you had a car.

HungaryIt was far from the local restaurants and bars you need to walk back like 15-20 mins but there is an other guesthouse right next to it so if you like chill areas this is better to rest.
They have a really nice view from the garden you can just sit and watch the show :) The breakfast is nice they have all you need in the morning including coffee as well. All the hiking routes are close to the hostel so you will find it easily. Only the Valbona trail is far from there. The room is okay in a 4 beds room.

PortugalPersonally, I didn't like the bathroom.
The house was typical, and perfectly blended in the nature, and we were close to the town and the hikes. Breakfast seemed to be of homemade products.

United KingdomIt is the further accommodation from the Theth centre but we feel like it’s worth the quiet benefits and closeness to the waterfall.
Lorenzo was very welcoming & friendly. Property is lovely with a restaurant on site & breakfast included. Lots of outdoor space to sit for a drink.

United StatesNot a dealbreaker, but the Wi-Fi didn’t work in our room, dinner seemed expensive for the area, and it was a long walk through town to get there. The location is fine if you have a car, but if you are hiking the Peaks of the Balkans trail I’d recommend staying closer to The other end of town.
The guest house is lovely and the views are good. We had a small room, but it worked out fine.

United States5% fee for credit card purchases! And used a terrible exchange rate from Euro to Lek so it cost almost 9% more to pay for our reservation. You can pay in Euro so just bring plenty of Euro if you don't have time or ability to pull out Lek. Wifi and electricity is intermittent in the town. Our room has windows overlooking the dining hall and the noise there or the fire past 10 was pretty loud some nights.
Beautiful views from the restaurant, great food, lovely staff, delicious breakfast. Bar and nightly campfire were great. Close to hike to Blue Eye (can also get a taxi) and easy hike directly to the waterfall. Quieter part of town than by the market which was nice.

United StatesThe temperature and bare bones of the room. The distance from the center of town and the Theth-Valbona trailhead - it’s one of the furthest guesthouses. Price per night was very expensive compared to other guesthouses we stayed at in the area and for what they provided to us. There was no furniture to put our stuff in or on and basically no toiletries provided.
The staff was amazing, they helped us with any request we had. Although far from town center, the guesthouse is very close to the river and a nice watering hole

United KingdomThe room itself was perfect except for the bathroom which had a leaking shower that would drip so had to put the shower head on the floor so the dripping wouldn't keep us up at night. The staff were aware of this as they pointed it out when we first arrived to our room. The bathroom had a very strong pungent smell which unfortunately affected me quite a lot as I was pregnant at the time of our stay and the smell would trigger me to vomit.
Exceptional location with friendly and helpful staff. The breakfast was fresh and the food at the restaurant was always delicious! The views being surrounded by the mountains were incredible!

NetherlandsReally light curtain hanging away from wall so provided privacy but won’t stop any light (we were up ready for hiking so no issue for us). If wanting to pay by card machine there is a 5% surcharge - best to bring cash. They welcome euros/Lek equally.
The hosts were extremely friendly and helpful. Water from tap is good to drink. Spent around €60 for x4 beers, x1 tea, x2 meat selections, grilled vegetables and a cheesecake but could easily eat for less. Restaurant also has a fire if it is cold outside. Breakfast was surprisingly good - included jams, local honey, local goats cheese, tomato, cucumber, orange and apple slices, cake, little sausages, eggs, bread, butter, cereal, coffee and tea. They arranged a lunch for us based on menu items which cost €10 for bread, burek and goats cheese. Location is perfect for closer hike to blue eye, a little further from the trailhead to Valbona although a scenic trail leads up behind Theth to link part way up from the original trailhead. Rooms were fine, we had a twin room with private bathroom which came with x2 small soaps and x2 shampoo pouches.

ItalyWe didn’t like the surroundings of the village, which were often poorly maintained. The bathroom shower was also right next to the toilet, with no enclosure to prevent water from splashing everywhere, which made it a bit uncomfortable to use. The room had no curtains at all, which wasn’t ideal — not just because of the morning light, but mostly because people could easily see inside from outside. I was also expecting a slightly more varied breakfast. Additionally, the parking was a bit tricky to reach, so we decided to leave the car before the uphill road leading to the property. Although there was plenty of parking space up there, we didn’t feel confident driving up. Other than that, everything else was great.
A beautiful property surrounded by greenery, despite some ongoing work in the garden. We received a warm welcome from Jon, who I believe is the manager, anyway everyone was very kind. We had both lunch and dinner at their restaurant and the food was excellent. Also the included breakfast was nice. The room was a typical mountain lodge room, with two single beds, some space to place our things, and plenty of room to relax. There was no closed wardrobe, but there was enough space to hang our clothes. The bathroom was small but had everything we needed, including a shower. The property is also very close to the hiking trails, making it a great starting point to explore the sights of the area. We really enjoyed the garden in the evenings, where they light a nice bonfire after a certain hour.
