To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

New ZealandPlease take care with your welcome post on the rooms' TV screens. While my common English-language name could be ambiguous, I do all the travel bookings for myself and my husband and I have a Mrs. preceding my name, not a Mr.
We usually stay here overnight prior to an early morning flight. We have previously stayed at all 3 of the hotels near the airport and Novotel is our preferred choice. The taxi to the international airport, which the hotel staff are happy to arrange, is cheaper for 2 people and takes less time than the shuttle.

AustraliaWe personally don’t like doonas, but everyone seems to be using them these days. We find it difficult to control the temperature in bed, you are hot with them on and cold when you throw them off. I guess accommodation houses use them because it’s quicker to maintain. The Novatel charges $25 for parking, I think it should be included in the not insignificant room price

AustraliaI understand there has to be a fee for early check ins but it would be good to find a solution rather than having to charge people the extra 80.00 as we had already been charged 30.oo from the international by the taxi.Works out an expensive way to get in the hotel early ,take a shower and have a 😴.
Breakfast was very good.lots of choices.Being able to check in early after landing at 6.35am Emirates flight was good.

Not good value for money, only reason we stayed there is that we had an early flight.
