Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomOnly 1 minor critique would be the Macal River Kayak is expensive for what it is USD 95 pp for 90 mins - the Tikal and Barton Creek trips were worth every penny (cent)
Very clean and staff all very friendly and helpful. Pool area is great to relax after any trips, and food (we had breakfast and lunches) is very, very good. Short walk into town and the hill (slope!) is easily manageable!! Don’t believe anyone who says it isn’t unless you have genuine mobility issues.

GermanyBelize is expensive, the hotel restaurant too. Breakfast is à la carte and not included, expect to spend some serious money here. Apart from that, there’s nothing not to like, it’s an awesome hotel.
Very nice and charming hotel. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Both bar and restaurant are very good. The bed was really comfortable, which is important to me. The location is awesome, really strategic for trips to Xunantunich, Caracol, and the Green Hills Butterfly Reserve, all of which I would highly recommend visiting while there. The Green Iguana Conservation Project is right on site, likewise highly recommended.

United KingdomThe room decor was a little tired and restaurant prices and drinks were expensive but possibly as Brits and pound so weak against dollar. Also nicest place in area so to be expected - but be prepared.
Great location for both walk into San Ignacio and local trips. Hotel staff very accommodating and did everything they could to make our stay smooth. Lovely restaurant overlooking jungle - great to see Toucans in the morning.

United StatesThe beds could be more comfy.
Carla and Perla who work there are amazing! They did everything they could to ensure we were comfortable and taken care of. The entire staff was super helpful and friendly. I can't say enough about them. The hotel is very very clean and the Rolling W restaurant is incredible. The food is fantastic - don't miss the chocolate mousse cake! Best I have ever had. From the patio you get to see some crazy animals and beautiful birds!

United StatesHaving to leave.
We loved the atmosphere and room. The front desk staff are wonderful as were all the tour guides and their tours. Darwin is a great concierge and we enjoyed Maya fish cooking and natural remedies with Ivan, iguana visit with George, Maya ruins with Cruz, and cave tubing with Wilbur. The desk and restaurant staff are also wonderful. We were able to do every activity directly from the resort and our time at the resort was delightful. The room is spacious and comfortable with great AC when needed. The pool and grounds are wonderful.

SpainThe food could take up to an hour to be prepared! Some of the waiters were surly which was very unusual in Belize. The hotel is old and could do with some modernisation. The coffee was terrible so we went down town where they have a great cafe.
The hotel is a little old style but the staff in general are very friendly, particularly the manager in the dining room. We have 4 adult children and they were able to stay in a room all together which was perfect. The swimming pool and lounge beds are very nice and so is the bar and cocktails. The hotel is located on a hill just outside the town so was an easy walk down into the town.

United StatesCannot think of a thing.
I think we had the best room in the place, suite 132, a corner balcony with jungle views. On the Trumpet tree outside our room we saw various birds, including motmots and toucans. Also saw a kinkajou one evening. Amazing staff who remember your names and cater to your every whim. Also got a tour of the on-site Green Iguana Sanctuary. It’s a very short walk into town. Also, it’s where Will and Kate stayed when they were here. And the queen too back in 1994.

United KingdomWhen we reserved our room with Booking.com, the room was advertised as having 3 double beds plus a sofa bed. There was no sofa bed when we got there, but the staff did bring in an additional single bed for us.
Food was excellent. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We really liked the toucans and the howler monkey living in the grounds of this hotel.

United StatesThe room we got smelled strongly of mold - they initially said that they would not give us a room that did not smell like mold but eventually found one. The rooms are not nice at all, I felt it was like a budget hotel in the US. The beds and pillows were very uncomfortable. The restaurant was extremely slow and the options for dinner were not ones that we liked at all. I think they raised their prices after the pandemic and they do not at all meet quality expectations for the rates they charge.
There was really nothing that we liked. It was a big disappointment. The price is outrageous for the quality of the resort and service.
