Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaA bit older. It could use some updates. Air conditioner was a portable one attached to the window which lifted the curtains letting in the light and it kept sucking up the curtains.
A decent place to stay.

CanadaI was next to the laundry/boiler room? I can hear the noise in my room. Also, the bed is OVERUSED. I was "buried" in it when sleeping.

CanadaThe room needed repairs: dents from the back of a chair in the wall, bathroom door didn't latch properly and wouldn't stay shut, window was cracked and let in cold air (we were warm enough with the heavy curtain closed for sleeping anyway).
Location was central to everything. Beds were comfortable.

CanadaWhat we liked: location is great, it’s almost right in the middle of downtown and old town, 15 minutes walk either way, love how close everything is. Rate is lower than other nearby hotels. Shower water pressure and temperature is great! The TV and remote worked as expected. What we didn’t like: during the 8-night stay, the room key card worked half of the time, we had to go to the counter every other night to get it reprogrammed. The cleaning/house keeping staff have very heavy body odour, we can smell them from one end of the hallway while they are at the other end, not sure if the management is aware or if they care. We asked for a tidy-up for the room when we went for brunch and walk on day 5 and all was done was trash can emptied and a piece of soap on the sink/counter was taken, no cleaning whatsoever (I could see the mark of the soap on the counter) or change of sheets, we had to grab another staff in the hallway after we returned to the room and basically stand there and watch her change our sheets. Some of the staff are not patient and not helpful.

CanadaThe staff seemed confused by any questions we asked, sometimes giving incorrect answers. The room had clearly not been properly cleaned with left over garbage from previous guests easily seen under furniture. We did not get the room type we booked. We booked a king bed but got a room with a double (maybe a small queen) and a sofa bed. We were moved to a room with 2 queens our second night. Ultimately the 2 beds was better for our needs but it was not what was advertised.
The location was great being central to everything we wanted to access.

CanadaWe unfortunately were told that the hotel had been overbooked and we were given a room with 2 queen beds instead of a room with 1 king bed. But the manager and other staff were quick to apologize and give us a partial refund.
The hotel is located close to the edge of downtown and just up the hill from Old Town, making it easy to explore both on foot. The room was clean and a good size. It also had air conditioning, which was great due to the heat wave Yellowknife was having. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable of the area. The Restaurant onsite has tasty desserts and they were also very friendly. The hotel also has an airport shuttle.
