Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaAs with many hotels, they’ve stopped doing daily maid services or switching out towels, etc. You can ask for fresh towels but your bed isn’t made daily.
Great location and price. Decently clean. Nice staff.

United StatesThe parking is a few blocks from the hotel and costs $30CAD per day. The in-hotel restaurant was very busy for breakfast and there was a long wait time to get a table and then to get food. One family told us it took an hour to get their food. Rather than wait so long, we walked a couple of blocks away to the Blue Nose 2 restaurant, which was a nice cozy restaurant serving a nice breakfast and fast, friendly service.
The location is perfect, within easy walking distance of many of Halifax's most visited features, including the waterfront, the citadel and the public gardens. The king bed was super comfy and the room had a nice big TV, although the channel selections were a bit disappointing.

United KingdomMy room was not ready when I checked in at 3 o'clock. I was told to wait in reception until called. It was eventually ready 1 hour and 20 minutes later.
The room was spacious and comfortable, and provided a good view ove the city. The aircon was effective and not at all noisy. Perfect location right in the centre, and a short walk to the waterfront.

CanadaPrice Size of the beds (a bit small for 2 adults and 2 teens) The room was supposed to be cleaned on the 2nd day but ended up being cleaned the afternoon before our departure. We would have liked it to be done the day before as scheduled.

New ZealandDecor is dated and faded, rooms have showers in a bath. One front desk person was particularly uninterested in any faults reported and was more concerned about their personal workspace. The Tempo eatery had a mouse running around the floor and what looked to be a male supervisor showed no interest in dealing with it.

CanadaI prefer hotels with included breakfast. The hotel restaurant is rather pricey. The parking is in a parkade in the mall. It was simple enough to use but the distance was a little trickier for older parents. Parking is expensive but suited our needs for our stay.
The room was fine - my family members all had a really large room with one bed. I shared with a friend with two beds and the room was rather small. Bathroom was spacious. Location is great and easy to get to things downtown Halifax.

AustraliaRoom quite dated and no bottled water supplied. These are not big things but I thought water in room would be standard.
Serviceable hotel situated on Barrington Street, one of the main streets downtown. Checkin and checkout smooth and quick. Only stayed one night so did not use facilities to comment on them.

CanadaI guess it is reflected in the price, but the carpet was stained, wall paper peeling, some mold in the tub, dirty wingback chair in the room I didn't want to touch, the AC/heat controls look like they are other original ones when the building went up, and while it looks like there is temp control, its really just on, or its off, no real temp settings. And the pool water was.... thick; not clean. Those things are mostly cosmetic.
We stayed here to attend a comedy festival. Location is ideal for anyone visiting and not renting or bringing their own car. There is an express airport shuttle that takes you right to this hotel. There is a bus hup right outside. It is connected to a small mall by a sky walk with dollarama, drug store, shops, and some food options. Everything in the downtown area is no more than 15 or so minute walk. Shopping, food, historical sites, museums, malls, parks... there is a lovely pedestrian street behind the hotel. We really just wanted a place to lay our heads, and the bed was clean and fresh. Checking in and out was easy, and the staff was friendly. We arrived really early, and flew in, no car, and the staff had our room ready to check in early (11am!! At no extra charge!!!). They couldn't guarantee this, but I made the request, and they delivered in a big way. If the room was not ready staff would also have stored our luggage so we could go explore the city and start our day. Upgrades wouldn't hurt, but it would drive up the price... I would 10/10 stay here again; I will book them for my trip next year if prices are the same or similar to this year.

CanadaIronically, location. Even though it’s close to the board walk, it’s very hard to get to with no U-turns and a place for only three vehicles to stop in front of it. With no parking onsite it’s a hassle to drop things off and park. The pool is very small.
Proximity to the wharf, large rooms.
