Shower rack needed to be cleaned, but it was my fault for not mentioning it to the host

Room was clean, spacious and comfortable with a desk, wardrobe and bed side tables. Host was lovely, helped us book a tour for guatape and helped quickly with anything we needed.

My partner and I spent a total of nine nights at Casa Clandestina and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The property is in excellent condition—well-maintained, clean, and thoughtfully designed. Roel, the owner who lives on the third floor, was incredibly helpful and accommodating throughout our stay. Casa Clandestina is the perfect choice if you’re looking for a peaceful and relaxing base in a more built-up area. Despite being centrally located and close to everything in Manila, the street is quiet, and we slept soundly every night. Thank you so much for everything, Roel! Guest house super comfortable and well equipped. We had the room with the sofa bed and slept well on both. The room and bathroom were clean, air-conditioned and we slept very well! The communal areas are clean and the kitchen is fully equipped. The manager is super friendly and available, and we were able to drop off our luggage during the day without any problems. He also gave us advice on our next destination and on Medellin. Very good stay

Wasn’t very sociable. I purposefully went for somewhere quiet and i was only there for one full day so I wasn’t too bothered about this, but it would have been nice to have some more opportunities to meet others in the hostel

Great location, super quiet, perfect space for when you need some sleep/some time to yourself but still want to explore Medellin (I’d just flown into Colombia and was jet lagged and exhausted). Also the owner was super helpful with recommendations and logistical info and the communal areas were nice

I really recommend staying at Casa Clandestina if you’re visiting Medellín. The location is perfect as it’s in a cozy and safe neighborhood with plenty of bars, restaurants, and cafes nearby. The owner, Roel, is super friendly and always willing to help out if you have any questions or need tips for getting around. I’ll stay here again when I’m back in Medellín!

It was absolutely perfect! From the moment we arrived, the host made us feel incredibly welcome—super friendly and attentive. The location is unbeatable, barrio Manila, making it easy to explore everything. The house itself is stunning, with unique and artistic decor throughout, giving it a one-of-a-kind vibe. The atmosphere is both cozy and inspiring. If you're looking for a place with character, comfort, and an amazing host, Casa Clandestina is the spot! We only stayed one night, but we wish we could have stayed longer. Definitely coming back!

A lot of wooden boxes around the room. They take space and aren't very practical to use since things fall between the wooden pieces they're made of.

Roel was a fantastic host and we had a great staff at Casa Clandestina. Our only regret is not having longer to stay in the really well located Casa. Would love to come back.

Everything was very good

We really loved the hostel and stayed there twice for over 10 days. We really recommend the Freddy Mercury room that has a big lovely balcony. The hostel is perfectly situated in Manila, there are many nice restaurants just around, and a cool yoga studio. The hostel feels more like a big apartment, there is a fully equipped kitchen, a living room with a tv, bathrooms with hot water. The wifi is perfect, and you can watch Netflix 😄 Roel is very friendly and helpful ☺️ he also let us leave our luggage there for a week when we travelled to Choco

Very nice owner, who is very helpfull and takes great care of the place. We even got a rechargable Metro Card. Also there is everything you need (AC, well equipped kitchen...) and the location is great. Would like to come back.

The Casa Clandestina is a very nice place to stay in Medellin! Even though it has great shared areas you still feel a lot more privacy as in a Hostel. It is very relaxed and quiet but still located Perfect to explore the city and be in the right neighberhood. Roel the Host is super helpfull and always there for any questions. Very nice place to stay!

Later in the week we stayed in the neighborhood of Laureles, which we liked a lot more – it was less touristy. But if you want to stay in El Poblado on a budget, this is a good option!

A good hostel in the popular tourist neighborhood of El Poblado. Staff was friendly (we mostly communicated on WhatsApp since we were out during the days). We stayed in the unit on the roof, which we liked – could see how some of the other rooms might be noisy and less private.

Casa Clandestina exceeded our expectations in every way. The room was big with plenty of room to unpack and relax, the bed was comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped and the whole place was kept exceptionally clean. Roel was very accommodating, allowing us to check in early and assisted us in obtaining fútbol tickets. The location was great, on a quiet street only a quick walk from the grocery store, the busy Poblado area and the metro. I highly recommend Casa Clandestina - this is definitely where we will be staying when we return to Medellín!

I was staying in the Freddie Mercury room and the windows didn’t close fully which meant it was a bit loud at night until traffic eased off but nothing ear plugs didn’t solve. I think the place will be even better when they sort the roof which I see they are working towards 😊

I enjoyed my stay here. The property is in a fantastic location, with lots of lovely restaurants and bars very close by. Check in and communication was really easy and it felt really safe. Hot water from the shower too which seems a bit of a rarity in many hotels. They also let me store my bags there for a few hours which was really helpful. Thanks for a great stay!

Some areas could use a bit of maintenance, like the toilet having a slight issue with mold on the ceiling.

The location of the place is excellent in El Poblado, and it's relatively close to a metro station, just a 15-minute walk away. The staff is friendly, and the room is cozy.
