Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaThe noise and congestion in the Centro is a plus and minus. Many inexpensive stores in the El Hueco area but very crowded.
I have stayed at this hotel many times over the years and always liked it. Staff is always helpful and friendly. Rooms are big and clean compared to others in Medellin or Bogota I have stayed recently and before. Good location in the heart of the Centro.

United States of AmericaI thought it was too bad that the neighborhood had become sketchy.
Location was great being steps from Plaza Botero, Museum of Antioquia and the Palace but felt sketchy at night. During the day, the area is better.

CanadaAlthough the rooms appeared well-kept, we found cockroaches in our room. Staff was very kind and switched us to another one, but we found more there as well. Area is very sketchy, despite being a tourist attraction (Botero sculptures and museum), both during the day and specially at night. Also, very loud all night long. Every day they cleaned they threw away our barely used bar soap.
Staff was fantastic and helped us when we needed some assistance to change rooms. Rooms were quite large and comfortable. They provide toiletries, a safe and a fridge. They offer buffet breakfast - a couple of pieces of fruit OR cereal (can’t have both), meat, eggs, and white bread. As I have dietary restrictions it was hard to have a proper breakfast with the selection and restrictions, but most people would find it ok. it’s located next to a subway station which is convenient if you want to use public transport to move around. Ubers are also super cheap to go anywhere around Medellin.

United States of AmericaThe hotel is in disrepair and could use a lot of updates. For example, the windows only keep the rain out. Besides that, they're useless at keeping the noise out of your room and the hotel is in a very noisy part of the downtown area. There are homeless people sleeping on the sidewalks of the hotel and surrounding areas.
The staff is friendly and helpful. Chris did an excellent job helping me. The view from higher floors is also nice.

United States of AmericaDuring the day, it's one of the most interesting neighborhoods in Medellin, but it becomes seedy at night - take an Uber or taxi if you go out after dark.
When Jude Law's character visited the Grand Budapest Hotel in 1968, he described it as being "by that time, decidedly out of-fashion; and it had already begun its descent into shabbiness and eventual demolition." The describes this hotel perfectly. When it was built in the early 1940s by Paul Williams, the architect behind the Beverly Hills Hotel and numerous celebrity homes, it was the jewel of the city. The salons, part of the lobby, and public spaces have now been transformed into a food court, call center, and dollar store, but thanks to the numerous historical photos throughout the building you can mentally reconstruct what it used to look like. The service is impeccable, as if nobody has bothered to inform the staff that the hotel had fallen onto hard times. It's worth the stay just to explore the building's nooks, crannies, and architectural details. While exploring, take a trip to the 10th floor and take in the view from the balcony off the elevator lobby - it's where the city's Wikipedia photo was taken.

United States of AmericaThe hotel is run down, looks like they haven’t remodeled since it was built. Everything is old and not well kept. The area is sketchy and incredibly busy, loud music was playing late into the night and it could be heard in the rooms even from the 8th floor. The train passes right in front of the hotel and could be heard every like 10-20 minutes. My parents’ room had roaches, they found two on their bed. Also, as I mentioned, the location is busy which means traffic is insane. If you are taking Ubers or Taxis, work in anywhere between 30 minutes + to get to whatever touristy locations/points of interest you plan to visit.
The staff was kind and very helpful.

United States of AmericaThe Hotel is in downtown Medellin and it's one of the oldest hotels in Medellin. When I arrived at the hotel I noticed people hanging out by the front door, some in wheelchairs, some looked homeless and some just sitting there in front of the hotel, not a good first impression. I found out that this hotel has a partnership with the local hospital to house patients as well. After one day I checked out and stayed at another hotel ( I did not feel safe). The owners should gut this hotel and start over.
The front desk attendants were very helpful and nice.

ColombiaThe hotel is really really old. You can tell it saw better days. Everything seems clean but the walls and corridors reek to old decrepit construction.
Location, if you need to visit the city centre, you will be at the very heart of the city. Mind you, this is worse than L.A. downtown or even Bogotá. Do not step outside of the hotel after 5:30 pm. Afterdark, most Medellín streets are a no-go zone.

ColombiaNothing to make a remark on.
The location is good, but it is downtown so it is chaotic and probably not very safe at night. The room was tidy, spacious and nice. Ask for one in the last floors and not facing the main street. Breakfast was Ok.
