Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We’re currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil, and North Carolina. For properties in these areas, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomWould have liked a simple option on dinner menu. With lots of travelling food can be too rich.
Beautifully maintained and very attractive inside and out. Close to the road, which was convenient as met up with family, but didn't seem noisy.

Costa RicaThe pools is small and the food was not good. Not enough variety. After a 2 day stayed you tried what you liked and there is not snacks menú for the pool. We arrived after 10 pm and we were received by an unattentive and rude guard is not the best way to start your vacations.
I liked The concept. Minus the guard everyone else were friendly

Netherlands$10,00 for a bottle of sparkling water in the restaurant is a bit much, we took one only once. Other prices are on par with other hotels in the country.
Very nice and clean rooms, friendly staff, nice pool and a superb view. Very easy to get to Dominical, Uvita and several tours from the hotel. Group of monkeys close by, nice to watch. Breakfast and restaurant were very good.

CanadaWe would prefer a king sized bed where possible.
It was charming in a wonderful old world way. The staff were impeccable. It was comfortable and pleasing and a really great value comparative to the other hotel type accommodations that promise more, deliver less and are greatly over price. It was lively to nice get more than you paid for. I would highly recommend but not for kids. it’s an adult accommodation in my opinion.

CanadaThe manager of the property was less than accommodating and rude. If you’re not in your room by 10 there is always someone watching over you, and at times made us feel a bit criminal. Our air conditioning didn’t work great, we asked for it to be fixed twice, and there was almost no effort into looking into it. It never improved, and there is no blanket given on the bed, suggesting this might not be entirely out of the norm. The couch is anything but comfortable, the bed is average. The pool was smaller in person than it appeared in photos, but was a decent little pool. However, there were only 6 lounge chairs which are typically taken at the beginning of the day so we ended up sitting on foldable plastic table chairs by the pool. This might be a matter of taste, but the rooms and common areas were very dimly lit. In addition to the dated decor, there were few places that felt inviting or enjoyable to relax in after dark (6-7pm). If you are a night person, this may be something you want to consider.
The restaurant and the servers are the best part of this place and is why we booked here. Carla and Andres were incredible servers and were always doing everything they could to ensure we enjoyed our meals. Being celiac the 100% gluten free menu was a treat! It was so nice to be able to look at the menu and order anything. Even my partner who isn’t celiac said the food was very good. The reception staff and housekeepers were also very nice and did a great job cleaning. The views were very beautiful during the day.

CanadaThe grounds were somewhat small. They do offer many tours and a spa however, and they were great about arranging a taxi for us. I'd recommend having a car here for day trips, but we got on well with taxis.
We liked just about everything. The grounds were very well kept, the staff were beyond excellent, our room was comfortable and clean. The room had an espresso pod machine. The bathroom products from Raw Botanical smelled and felt so amazing that we're going to try and buy some for ourselves! The infinity pool was great. We saw a whole group of Capuchin Monkeys in the late morning from the pool one day. The restaurant at this place is a dream come true for a person with celiac disease! The included breakfast was great, the lunch and dinner menus had us excited every day to try something new, and the prices were surprisingly excellent considering some of the expat owned restaurants in the surrounding areas. We ate here every meal every day during our stay without regret. It was amazing not to have to even mention needing GF accommodation. The staff don't even bring outside food into the resort to maintain their 100% GF kitchen. I also have to mention the server Warner, he was an absolute gem who made our stay with his enthusiasm and how earnestly happy he was to be there talking with us and making sure we had a great time.

NorwayWhat could have been a tranquil location is unfortunately completely overshadowed by all the traffic noise from the main road. Even with ear plugs the noise from the lorries struggling up and down the hill on both sides of the hotel was loud. Owners seem to have done nothing to block/minimise the noise like noice fences or simple sound proofing around hotel room door. There’s also a constant humming noise from the swimming pool pump which could probably have easily been avoided by the owners making it possible to close the door to the pump house. Also expect the restaurant bill to be high if you have dinner here - although admittedly it’s good food

BelgiumRooms outdated and impractical (very little space for clothes and other stuff, strange half bathtub with shower without cold water mixer, the bedsheets wouldn't cover the mattress properly...) Tiny pool with very few sunbeds. Limited and overpriced food. The place is completely gluten-free so certain food options such as pasta are to be avoided. Try the breakfast home mode granola, very good and rich. Most of all you MUST have a car to move around the area. We didn't, and ended up paying around 150 USD of taxis for 2 full days, and they weren't easy to find. If you don't have your own car stay in Uvita!
Staff was nice and helpful
