Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Sophie the French owner created a beautiful garden with lovely cabanas. It was peaceful and idyllic. Breakfast was very nice. Pool was lovely. She upgraded us which was very kind. The outdoor bathroom was very romantic. The most beautiful beach Playa Grande was 5 mins by car. We also loved playa conchal in the morning 20.mins away. Lolas cafe was great too about 1 hour away. She gave us good advice. We saw monkeys play by the pool up on the trees which was magical. Loved it.

Costa RicaI can’t recommend this property enough. We stayed in the Casita 3 nights and we adored it. We booked the Playa Grande Mangrove Canals Tour with them and it ended up being magical, a little bit pricey but it was a unique experience. All the staff was very friendly to us, I personally had a couple of interesting talks about the area and the country with the owner and enjoyed it a lot. We felt very safe at all times but the outdoor shower can be more private for sure, like there’s not enough natural fencing. I believe having more bushes may reduce the possibility of someone looking at you naked but we really didn’t care. Also, we tried the breakfast for just one day and liked it despite it being very basic and expensive. In conclusion, we loved how beautiful the property is, the bohemian vibe and the casita.

The staff was super friendly and helpful. The pool is super refreshing after a hot day. And make sure to ask Diego about surf lessons, he had us two newbies standing and riding waves in no time.

PortugalIf I could leave a suggestion, despite having the doors and windows with mosquito nets, I would wrap the rooms's floors and corners with mosquito nets as well. We were visited by some bugs and ants. Someone more sensible might feel bothered.
It is one of those places where you can't point a single thing wrong. It's a perfect combination between nature and modern sustainable comfort. From the cabana to the outdoor shower, the experience is simply breathtaking. One morning, while we were heading out for breakfast, we had some monkeys in the trees right above us. And they also have a cat named Bagheera.

The property was beautiful, the room was well clean, the pictures don't give this place Justice. I was worried about laying in the hammock because I worry about getting dust and itching but it was clean also and I had no issues. The howler monkeys getting so close was really cool.

United StatesVery minor detail but the bikes could be upgraded, plenty okay to take them to the beach and back though :)
I’ve been to 27 countries in my life and this is my (and my husbands) most favorite place we’ve ever been. You feel like you’re in an oasis, the breakfast is made with love, the staff are helpful and friendly, would recommend to anyone and everyone visiting the area.

CanadaCharming accommodations, lovely gardens, free coffee, kitchen available for use, very close to the beach. We also spent 2 nights in a casita, so both the tents on platforms and the casita were great!! We loved it here, would love to come back and will definitely recommend to our friends!! United StatesAMAZING!!! Will not disappoint!!! The place is so beautiful! My entire stay soared above and beyond any expectation. It was very peaceful and relaxing. Karina and the staff were so hospitable. They treated me like family... not just a guest. The morning breakfast was so fresh and delicious. The fresh fruit, fresh juice and home made yogurt is so delicious. Such a value for the price. There are so many things to do and excursions you can book through the property. I also was able to meet the owner, Sophie. She was incredible. She made me feel very welcome and treated me like a valued as a guest at her place even though it was the first time she ever met me. I will always stay here for any future visits to Costa Rica.

NetherlandsThe road leading to the property is a little off the main road, approx 500m, with lot’s of potholes. Could use some backfilling from time to time. The hotel could provide for all-day coffee/ tea instead of only during breakfast.
I was a little apprehensive at first, to sleep in a tent in the tropics with all mosquitos etc but I experienced no issue at all. The tents were clean, a fan was running to keep temperature under control and keep mosquitos away. In fact, I did not experience any mosquitos at all, even not while sitting around the lovely pool or central areas. The garden allows for lot’s of privacy. I also liked the open air shower behind each tent. Breakfast was relatively simple, but happy that the cook even showed up because I was the only guest for 2 nights. :-). The tents were also provided with facilities like a fridge to store cold drinks in and other perishables. I Liked the call of the monkey’s early morning. Playa Grande is definitely a much more quieter area than Tamarindo’s beach (much more entertainment there), so if you came to find a quiet place; this is the beach where you would want to stay.

United StatesInconsistent wifi and uncomfortable sleeping at times due to heat and mosquitos. If glamping during hot and rainy "winter" season, there will be more mosquitos. It wasn't the best place for a working vacation, but forced relaxation wasn't a bad thing!
Stunning grounds and comfortable beds. 1000% charming. Really refreshing pool. Super clean. Easy access to the beach, especially with a car. We did go on foot once as well, and this is totally feasible. Juan the gardener and Sophie the owner were lovely. My daughter can't stop talkng about Begeiro, the resident cat.

SloveniaYou need a car as mobility is the key. The real super market is in nearby town (5km away) so either bring some.food with you or face not that cheap restaurants. The one close to the premises is useless.l (chips, alco).
First, Sophie is a great host, who gives plenty of useful tips (like, where to park when you go to the beach etc). The whole place is in excellent condition, mini jungle, colorful, yet "organized." We came there because we read there are monkeys around. And they are, little black beautis. During the night you can hear howler monkeys, which was awesome, for us, city folk. We had a apt. 5, for 4 people. There was enough space, equipment is basic,.but nice and has everything you need for 2-4 nights. Mosquito nets were on windows and windows could be opened. The beach is 5 min drive away. You may even go with bycicle but make sure you are back during the day time. Later could be problematic, with no lights and traffic. We didnt use pool (were on the beach) but it looked nice. Would recommend staying for a few nights.
