The kitchen inventory could have been a little better in terms of quantity and quality. Furthermore, the chill area could be more comfortable with for example pillows and a backrest.

The owner of the place is really kind and is willing to help you with anything. Rooms are clean, as well as the shower and toilet.

Lots of extra charges, was meant to pay $86 for 4 nights but was charged over $120 as there aren't banks in tortuguero so the exchange rate is poor, and also charges for commission and tax. Nice place but it would be helpful to mention somewhere that there will be lots of extra charges.

Dorm was cramped...2 bunks and a double bed. If dorm had been fully occupied there wouldn't have been enough room. No windows in our dorm and poor lighting.Plugs not in appropriate places for charging phones,placed high up by electric fans. Bathrooms are very small Kitchen is basic but clean

Location....very central to everything. Staff are excellent, very helpful and regularly asked if we would like fresh bedding. Lovely breakfast of eggs on toast and coffee each morning We were met off the boat and escorted to our hostel and shown where to go in the village to book tours or get any information we needed. Nothing in particular except that I would maybe add one more pillow to my bed as I like more pillows. Also get used to the heat as it can get very warm in the room, but there are very strong fans in each room.

Dõna Marina is a wonderful lady and a host. She makes sure you have everything and gives tips about the location. Make sure to use their tours and not other that you find as the prices are cheaper and locals are your guides. We made a mistake of booking our tours online prior to arriving here. Especially good when traveling with friends!

Don’t expect a nice community there as in other hostels. I feel like people are just coming for a few nights and only use the place to sleep (which is totally fine of course) Hostel doesn’t have a nice commune area or so. Be prepared that everything on the island is very expensive, so maybe bring your own food from the main land

The location is great. Breakfast was yummy, the owner is sweet (she doesn’t speak english though). They also help you with tours, rentals etc. Kitchen is clean and nice

The double bed was very solid, and it seemed that a large family lives in the same place so it was pretty noisy sometimes, but I'm sure some people will actually like it.

Clean, perfect location, very nice staff, lockers, super strong fans (we had 3 fans in the 6-bed room), supermarket close by, great value for money.

The lady of the house was so friendly! She only speaks spanish but with a little bit of effort you can understand her easily. The hostel will help you with booking the tours. The tours we did were very nice and with very good guides. It is warm in the room but they put 3 ventilators in the room so it is okay to sleep.

I cannot think of anything specific I did not like. Everything met my expectations.

Very enjoyable staff that helps you set up in the village and they book for you the activities that you want to do. They make sure that the guides pick you up from the hostel. Also, they prepare your breakfast outside the breakfast slot to be able to do the activities. Even though the heat, there are plenty of fans to be able to sleep at night.

Wish every bed had an outlet (in my dorm, only one bed had access to an outlet) Don't be too quick to book tours or boats with them, they take a little cut of each sale, so you end up paying more 😅

Best hostel to stay in Tortuguero! I will definitely stay at the same place if I go back to Tortuguero. Mariana took really good care of us, she cooked us a beautiful, delicious breakfast every morning. The rooms have lockers, the beds are clean and comfortable. The kitchen is quite good too. We felt safe there, the location is great, 30 seconds walk from a grocery store. There are two nice areas outside to chill in the shade.

The dorm was way too small for 5 persons with no air and no space to put down our luggage so it was hard to sleep or stay in there Not enough seating to eat with only one table outside No vegan breakfast option Tour guide Welcoming you on behalf of the hostel at the Port feels too pushy as they try and sell you stuff while you haven't even checked in .. annoying.

The only downside was that the rooms were quite crowded (especially with all the backpacks) and lacked fresh air. It got a bit stuffy in there.

The location of the hostel is amazing - right next to the beach. Everything was clean and staff was always happy to help. Breakfast was great as well!
