Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaAt least some TV stations need to be in English. A news station like FOX news in English would be nice. Extra washcloths.
TheBreakfast at Playa Espadilla was fabulous! We looked forward to breakfast everyday!! Such a wonderful array of typical Costa Rican food! Also, the concierge service was fantastic. Dylan helped with every question and all of our excursions with a smile!

United States of AmericaIf you have a “garden” room, you will be in a separate building with it’s own front desk and must walk a short distance on the street to get to the pool area with the bar that they use in their advertisement pictures. There is a another pool in the garden building that does not have a bar. Not a big deal since you can use both facilities, but they should make it clear in their ad. Also did not like that breakfast started at 7 when the Natiinal Park opens at 7.
We loved the proximity to the National Park, beautiful pool areas and wonderful restaurant. No need to use our car during out stay. The beds were comfortable.

United States of AmericaHumidity is very high in room. I saw a big cockroach running across the room in the middle of the night. The shower door is not sealed so water slip out and flood the bathroom floor.
We like the hotel very much after a long strenuous drive. The hotel is beautiful and the staff was warm and helpful. He made diner reservation for us right away. The famous Manuel Antonio National Park is right around the corner. The pool is inviting. The public beach is right behind. What not to like?

United KingdomIt is very overpriced. The room does have “US motel style” and is definitely not what I expected for the price. It is also very small and didn’t have any nice touches (they didn’t even provide mineral water in the fridge, which is provided even in small and cheap hotels in Costa Rica). Bathroom is small and dated; the shower leaks a lot of water through the door, and water pressure is low. The hotel is due for renovation. Breakfast is mediocre for the price.
The hotel has some of the standards you would expect from a hotel of this category: nice staff, good restaurant, beach towels, good housekeeping. The bed was very good and the room was clean. It is nice to relax by their swimming pool, specially after a hot day in Manuel Antonio park.

United States of AmericaHaving a room right next to the pool could make it a bit loud outside when trying to go to bed a bit early as pool is open until 1030pm but not too bad.
Loved the comfy bed, nice pool and restaurant was amazing. Located in great spot also close to beach and national park.

United KingdomVery comfortable hotel with pretty pool area and gardens. Loved the outdoor evening eating area under the trees. Short easy walk to the beach but tucked away in quiet road behind the busy main area of Manuel Antonio. Good food both at breakfast and dinner and very friendly staff.

United KingdomWe thought that the gardens would be more extensive (due to the hotel name) but the hotel setting is very nice.
Great location and short walk to the beach and the National Park but set in a nice quiet location. Fantastic on site restaurant. Nice little pool area with shaded sun beds. Good ac and fridge in rooms. Staff friendly and helpful.

The location was perfect. The employees were helpful and kind. The security guard let us know our car windows were down a bit and also was stationed at an exit area in an evening we were heading to the beach and shown his light and let us know he was there. The breakfasts were good, the grounds were well kept and beautiful. We hope to come back!

United States of AmericaThe room itself was smaller that expected, with no cabinet space or hanging rods to store clothes. It was okay for two people, but it would be quite cramped for 3 or 4 people.
The hotel was in a great location, less than a five minute walk from the entrance to Manuel Antonio Park. The staff was attentive and very friendly. The common areas - especially the restaurant - were excellent and well above expectations for a 3-star property.

Outstanding location. Steps from Manuel Antonio National Park. Super clean, neat, and comfortable. The entire staff went out of their way to keep us comfortable. The rooms were very well appointed. Great shower and plenty of electrical outlets. They have their own private reserve where we went hiking and saw lots of plants and animals.

United KingdomNothing bad to say about the hotel
It’s covered on three sides by the jungle, perfect location for access to the national park and the beach. Top setting the pool was good as well. Staff were great. The wildlife on-site was great, we saw and definitely heard howler monkeys, deers, loads of gecko’s, pretty birds and Agouti all in the jungle from our room, Amazing.
