The coffee was dreadful. The swimming pool was too cold and the pillows too soft.

Small fridge in the room was not working, there were no other available rooms to swap with. However, I have been offered the option to place items in a fridge near the reception(not ideal, but better than nothing when holding perisable items) Pool & sauna not available 24/7 - bear in mind that the facilities are not available at all times of the day, best to confirm before booking whether it fits your plan

A bit pricey for a hotel in a not-particularly-exciting town, but nothing outrageous.

Clean and spacious. The reception area was a bit bland, but the room was nice and the breakfast area was fantastic, with a huge, well-assorted buffet. Parking right outside the front door. Fridge in the room.

We had especially booked 2 comfort rooms for single use, WITH BALCONY, as we both hate small single rooms. Neither of us got a balcony! My room was specious and comfortable, and because of the bad weather, I did not miss a balcony. My friend however, got a small bedroom and a small and dark separate sitting room. It felt quite cramped. I would have been very unhappy in those rooms, and also my friend was not very happy with them. However, we saw that the hotel was fully booked, so we left it with that. It must be said that we got quite a big reduction in price (about € 40/night) for single use of the room, which is quite unusual. Therefore perhaps we should not grumble, but we both would have preferred to pay the whole price and have the comfort rooms with balcony. The light: nowhere else to read than in bed since there was nowhere else proper reading light.

Overall, everything was excellent, apart from the 2 items mentioned under. We would have given the hotel a "9"" were it not for those 2 points.

All was good.

Super helpful staff, clean and comfortable and a peaceful location. Good secure storage for bicycles. Bad Bentheim centre, castle and park was only a short walk from the hotel. Also, some nice woodland trails and cycle paths nearby. Great value for money.

The pillows were filled with down and far too soft and soggy. We were not particularly impressed with Bad Bentheim as a town (except for the castle). We cycled across the border into the Netherlands, where everything seemed just nicer and where the cycle paths were better.

The hotel is on a quiet back street and is very modern. The breakfast room was beautiful. The breakfast served was exquisite, they clearly spared no effort or expense in giving their guests a top class experience. The room itself and bathroom were excellent.
