Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Smoking in front of the entrance. Cleaning inside rooms and bathrooms needs to be improved.

Breakfast buffet would be nice!
It is a short walk via a pedestrian only street to the city center of Marienplatz. Lots of shops along the way. This hotel was a great value and no need to pay double to be closer to the city center.

The hotel is located on a busy street and there is quite a lot of noise, especially from the trams. Rooms not facing the street may be quieter.
Located just a few minutes from the central station and not far from the old town. Friendly staff. Nice room with good beds.

Excellent location. The personnel were lovely and helpful in everything. Despite being in a very crowded area, the room and the entire hotel space are hushed.

We were received by a friendly greeting, and quickly shown to our room. Despite hot temperatures outside our room was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed being close to the train station and being able to walk to Marianplatz.

No breakfast, but many places nearby. Hotels with carpets are not my preference as they can not be cleaned properly.
Very close to the central station. Daily housekeeping. Nice shower and very comfortable bed. The stuff at the front desk are lovely!

Room was rather odd in that it was in the attic of the property, and about a third of it was unusable space due to the sloping ceiling. Room decor was unimpressive. Mattress was almost too firm.
Room was comfortable and adequate. Location was only a short walk to Marienplatz, and central to subway system. Staff was friendly and helpful. Was glad to have an elevator.

We only stayed one night at Hotel Bayer's, but it was a great experience. The hotel is located directly across from Munich's main train station, making it incredibly convenient, especially for easy access to the airport. It's also just a 15-minute walk to the Old Town, which was perfect for a short visit. The room was spacious, clean, modern, and very quiet, ideal for a restful night after a day of travel. Also every hotel staff we interacted with was super friendly and kind, which made our brief stay even more enjoyable. We hope the team enjoyed the Tim Tam biscuits we left at reception as a small thank you :) Highly recommended for anyone looking for a convenient and comfortable place to stay in Munich

WiFi did not work at all in my room. When I was in the lobby, it worked fine, but not in my room. The selection of tv channels was sparse.
Very handy location, 5 minute walk from the station, 5 minute walk to the old town. Clean, good sized room.

The location is excellent, walking distance to the Hauptbahnhof, Botanical Garden and the Marienplatz / Old Town. Room was clean and comfortable. Size was compact as usual for inner city European hotels. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

One of the two pillows was too soft and lacked support. It would be a good idea to have a small seat or stool in the bathroom as it's not ideal to use the hairdrier while standing. The hotel is near the main station but telling the customer which exit would be a big help.
